Hi Michelle ! This is Nicole, with U.S. Horse Transport. Hope you are having a great day! We have placed a bid below, but wanted to touch base with you and go over any questions/concerns you may have as we know how arranging transport for animals can be very stressful, especially over the internet! While it is common sense to choose only legal and commercially insured transporters while you are considering bids, it is more difficult to determine which transporters will best meet the needs of your horse! As professional horse transporters, it is not only our responsibility to understand the general nature of horses during transport, but to also understand the unique, individual needs of each horse in our care. So if you have any special concerns about your horse, or if you have any questions about transporting in general, please let us know. Response: : Hi Michelle. Thanks so much for the response. We are scheduled to be in SimiValley on the evening of the 16th- morning of the 17th. We will arrive in CO at our place between night of 18th-morning of 19th, where we will have a 24-48 hour extended layover. This allows the horses to rest, stretch, etc, and allows us to clean and safety check our equipment. We will leave CO on the morning of the 21st, and should arrive in OH on the night of the 22nd-morning of the 23rd. As far as other rests/layovers- we stop every 3-4 hours to check the horses and allow them to rest approx 1hour. Every 24-26 hours the horses are unloaded as law requires. These layovers can range anywhere from 4-8hours, just depending on where we are and if we find a safe, secure facility to unload. I hope this helps. I know it is rather confusing and not always exact when traveling cross country. Please let me know if you have any other questions :)5/7/2012
