Question: Hi. This is Ian from the Auld Macdonald Farm. We are based in Minnesota where we have an Arabian breeding farm. I would like to help you with moving your horse. What timeframe are you looking at? This would need to be a customized trip as there is not much (if any) traffic on this route so your horse would most liekly be the only one on the trailer! I could do this for $650. Your target of 400 would not even cover costs. Thanks, Ian (macdonald) (4/6/2008)

Response: Hello Ian,
Would you be able to trailer to Thunder Bay, Ontario? I live 30 minutes from Pigeon River border crossing. I would meet you at the border, and you could follow behind my car.
The problem, I just recently discovered is that I have to have the horse cross the border by April 19th because her health certificate expires, and the US border now requires a birth certificate to cross, which I do not have.
I found a phone number on google, that uship will not allow in this message, that i will try to reach you at. Uship also will not allow me to leave mine.

Hope to hear from you soon!
Thanks, Terri. (4/7/2008)

Response: Hi Terri. Sorry, but the best I can do for you is haul this horse to the USA side of the border at Pigeon River next week. You need to check with the Canadian border people about paperwork needed to cross the border with this horse. Regards, Ian. (4/8/2008)

Response: Last year, I imported a horse from the states. I am aware what papers are needed, since I have done this before, and I have all the papers already. I have registration papers, the contract from the owner saying that I am leasing the horse, international health certificate that is stamped by a federal vet, and a brand inspection. The only concern I have is unloading and loading this horse at the border, because I do not know how she will behave. I am not sure if there is a grassy area when we can unload and load, or just the pavement.

Response: Hi Terri. I am sure we could find a safe place to transfer the horse. I would have an idea of how she handles from loading her. Havn't met a horse yet that I couldn't get on and off a trailer safely! Thanks, Ian. (4/8/2008)

Response: Okay, sounds good then. I just got off the phone with my mom, and her, her friend and I, who are all experienced, will trailer to the border to meet you. Or if you prefer, they can meet you on the US side.
What day would you be able to do this? My mother is not available after Thursday April 17. We are available anyway until the 17th, as mentioned.
Thanks, Terri. (4/8/2008)

Response: Hi Terri. If you accept my bid we can pin down the details. I can do this on either April 16 or 17 whichever works best for you. I would meet you on the USA side of the border where we can find a safe place to transfer the horse to your trailer. Thanks, Ian (macdonald) (4/8/2008)

Response: Ian,
I accepted your bid and it would be preferred if you could deliver the horse April 16.
I'm at work right now, but will message you tonight will more details.
Thanks for all your help, Terri. (4/9/2008)
