Response: I need 500 bales shipped . you would have to make 3 trips or maybe 4. what do you think? (4/1/2008)

Response: Sorry I though it was a shipment that would fit in my truck in one trip but, to make 3 to 4 trips for $300 is not a very good idea do to the diesel prices.
Thanks, Jose

Response: I know about the fuel prices. What are your trucks diminsions? the bales are 100 pounds each and are 4ft x 2ft x 1.5ft how many bales would fit on 1 load ?
Thanks

Response: I have a flat bed 16 ft. long and 8 ft. wide. I can probably fit about 64 on my truck and about 24 on the trailer. How much can you pay me per trip? If necessary I can probably attached a 10 ft. trailer. Obviously I’m not going to fit 500.
Thanks, Jose

Response: let me think about the amount of hay and the time it will take you per trip and gas prices. it's 90 miles round trip also let me know for sure it you can attach the 10ft trailer
thanks again i think we can work this out

Response: I don’t see a problem attaching the trailer to the truck. Thanks Jose (4/2/2008)

Response: also you have a truck ,a trailer and another trailer which means that you would be hauling a double trailer right? (4/2/2008)

Response: Sorry to confuse you. I only have one truck and one trailer.

Response: ok what is the size of you truck and trailer ? you said that you could get 64 bales on your trailer and 24 bales on your truck. The bales are 4ft long x 2ft wide x 1.5ft tall. Knowing these dim does this change your totals?

Question: Hello Shipper, Just to clarify, You have 500 bales at 100 lbs for a total of 50,000 lbs? Do you need them all at once or can few days pass between loads? How do you plan to load and unload the bales? My back is not as strong as it once was. I have a 32' gooseneck that can haul 17,000 lbs payload. That would work out to 3 loads of 16,600 lbs or 166 bales per load. Let me know your plan for loading and unloading and I will send you some numbers to consider for the load. Thanks, Robert @ HTS (4/2/2008)

Response: I have a loader at each location ,also I would like to have all the bales in 1 day. This can be done even if you make a few trip because it takes 30 minutes to load and unload. I also need hay ( 500) delivered to Sacramento.
Thanks

Response: Thank you for your response. I would need to make three trips for a total of 660 miles. With fuel at $4.07 to $4.12 a gallon I would spend $250 to $275 in fuel alone. I would need to gross at least twice the fuel cost which will be much higher than you max. I would like to work for you as I live in Tehachapi so this would be close. Hopefully You can find a provider with a large flatbed to get it all in one shot. Let me know your thoughts. Thanks, Robert @ HTS (4/5/2008)
