Questions for this shipment:

Question: I have the truck for this load, its a rollback 21 ft towtruck. My only problem is I've never dealt with across the border shipments. I won't deny the bid request just yet. I need to find out the logistics of dealing with customs and the importing of the product. Thanks Ian (spazster34) Johansen Second Chances Transport Kennewick WA (6/6/2008)
Response: By the way, I like the green energy commitment shown on your profile. Our towers are for wind farm prospecting, so this might help could for some green good will in transporting things which increase wind power production. (6/6/2008)
Response: Do you or your associated company already have or utilize a customs brokerage service? I'm in contact with Livingston International and thier suggestion is to check with you first as to wether or not you use one. Thanks Ian (6/9/2008)
Response: We don't have one. (6/11/2008)
Response: Ok. Were are still working on the logistics of it. Have my partner in crime investigating Thursday. Thanks Ian (6/11/2008)
Response: We will be having a customs broker involved. (6/11/2008)
Response: Ok so you are just looking for the transport end of it then? Thanks Ian (6/11/2008)
Response: Just transport. Customs clearance will be easy with a broker involved. Without a broker, it is very hard to get through customs without long delays. I estimate with a broker, the delay at the border will be 30 to 60 minutes. Without a broker, the delay can be more than a day of time, especially if something is missing from the paperwork. A broker will have the paperwork done and cleared in advance, so not a problem. However, that also means we need at least one week to make sure the broker gets things cleared in advance, so tower is not ready to ship out yet. (6/12/2008)
Question: Hello. I can deliver this to your site in BC. I am a legal and fully insured carrier in the US & Canada. 98% of my shipments go from the US into Canada. What is the time frame on shipping. I will be in BC later this week. Look forward to your reply. Thanks. Jeremiah (6/7/2008)
Response: I won't be ready that fast. This tower still needs to be painted, so it will be at least a week before it is ready to be picked up. After that, I am flexible on dates, but it would be good to have both this shipment to BC and the shipment to Washington picked up at the same time. Alternative, I can have one carrier take both towers up to Washington, and then have shorter shipment from Washington border, near Canada, up to BC to minimize cost of the cross border transport. (6/8/2008)
Question: We have submitted our bid, but please keep in mind that the bids might seem high to you, but there is NO return freight from Dawsons Creek...lol. We can service this area regularly, if you like, due to our having family in Grande Prarrie. Marie (6/12/2008)
Response: From what I understand, there is not much that is worth taking out as exports from Dawson Creek. Maybe wood, but not even sure about that. Thus, I do understand the lack of backhaul as a problem. (6/12/2008)
Response: If we can arrange a regular haul up to Dawson's Creek with you, we will look for a regular backhaul and lower your costs. Thanks, Marie (6/12/2008)
Response: Marie, We don't have very many "regular" shipments. Our towers are delivered when ordered to customers, and we sent them where the customer needs them, so we don't really control the location or timing. (6/13/2008)
Question: When is this ready for pick up? (6/17/2008)
Response: This will be ready for pickup on June 30th. (6/18/2008)
Question: Not sure what you are looking for. You requested a re-bid, I complied with FLEXIBLE dates, and you rejected the bid due to "Incompatible Dates". We can transport your load at any time you are ready; open booking. (6/18/2008)
Response: The bid was about to expire, as the ending date was a few days after the bid date. (6/20/2008)
Question: Hi, the below quote is total without the metal box of tools. Please let me know the weight and dims of the box for final quote. Thank you. (7/7/2008)
Question: do yo u need the full truck or can this move as a LTL if so please furnish the total feet needed Thanks Ray (7/9/2008)
