Question: Hello Shipper, If you are sure on the width this boat will require permits to transport. Anything over 8ft 6in. is considered an oversized load. (10/27/2009)

Response: i must be mistaken... i tow it behind a ford f350 and it is not wider than that so i may be wrong on the measurements. i do not need a special permit to tow it. any ford, chevy or dodge full size pick up above a 1500 or f150 can tow this boat (10/27/2009)

Question: Is this a bumper pull or gooseneck? It's a little long for a bumper pull, that would make you about 73' long and 65' is the legal limit. Response: the trailer is a bumber pull and it is that long and i have traveled across country with it with no problem as well as had it shipped(pulled) from florida to las vegas with no problem.. it might be 50 feet.. definitely trailerable. (10/27/2009)

Question: Shipper, we have pulled a Donzi 38ZX before and they do have a beam of 9'3", with that being said it will require permits for each state traveled in as anything over 8'6" requires these. Also, with the trailer being as long as it is as well, it will require to be an overlength permit (Both overwidth and overlength will be on same permit) as well. We can get it done for $3,900 which would include all oversized permits and include $250K Boat Specific Cargo Insurance. The transporter must obtain these permits for this load, if not, it could be impounded. Also, if something were to happen to boat while in transport (illegally - no permits), no insurance out there would cover it as it is being transported illegally. We haul a lot of these out of the Lake of the Ozarks and Lake Mead, as those owners and you are aware these are very expensive boats, please consider that while choosing a transporter. Question: Shipper, we have $100,000 specific boat ins, we can add what might be needed for this trip. Boat ins is expensive for commercial transport, we pay 2200 a year per truck for 100,000. We can pull this for 3400 or load it on our trailer for 4500. It might be more expensive than some, but you will be getting safe,legal and properly insured transport. I believe you will find that transporters who do not do boats all the time will not have specific boat ins. (10/27/2009)

Question: you should do some checking never seen a shipper with $500,000 cargo go to the bottom of this page to categories click on boat transport then on choose a carrier and read what it takes to be a legal transporter and the easy way to see if the have insurance is have there insurance fax you a certificate of insurance in your name from the ins. co. not from them because every cargo insurance co. offers to send to customers if they can do this then they do not!! have insurance to cover yours when they say they have insurance to cover anything they tow that only if they own what there towing unless the ins. co. can fax you the proof so be safe and check that to nice of a boat to take chances with (10/27/2009)

Question: Just to clarify for you guys,and I know many do not bother to get permits but It is required to obtain oversize permits for anything over 8'6"w and 13'6"h.It is also required for a commercial hauler to carry adequate insurance to cover the value of the hauled load and a minimum liability insurance of 750,000.00 and sometimes 1 million.Many do not get permits because they are not properly insured to have the required filings with the states they travel thru to be able to get a permit.Ib can not compete with some prices because of the overhead this adds o staying in the business.2,50/mile with permits hauled not towed around the 16th Nov. if you may be interested...tduncan55 (11/1/2009)
