Listing Information
  • concession trailer from hampton, va to dragoon, az
  • Length:20 ft.
  • Width:8 ft.
  • Height:11 ft.
  • Weight:7000 lbs.
Additional Information: - going from 23669 to 85609... flexible on dates, would prefer to receive within a couple of weeks... VERY IMPORTANT - this trailer requires transport by 'lowboy' trailer or at least a ford f350 or dodge ram 3500 dually with sway bar ... beyond that the trailer is pretty standard with electric brakes, new springs, good bearings, working lights, but with large exhaust vent & compressor up high, makes it a little top heavy... if the hauler can bring something else with them or get something to haul back on the return trip - we can work with that if it'll give us a better rate... Questions for this shipment:

Question: what is the inside height? Would you like to get it either early this week or mid next week? How are the tires, brakes, and lights? (5/18/2008)
Response: we're trying to buy this from the folks in virginia; they tell us the tires are brand new, the lights work & they say it has electric brakes but don't know if they work? i think the inside height is 7 ft. the trailer has a high clearance from the ground... i see you haven't worked with uship - do you have references, insurance, including cargo ins? thanx, kenn & deb (5/18/2008)
Question: 3000.00 cash thanks lfeezel (5/18/2008)
Response: a little high, we were looking at about $2500... by the way, what's your usdot #? does your insurance include cargo ins. & if so, what amount? thanx, kenn & deb (5/18/2008)
Response: yes I have a dot # im leased thrue starfleat cargo ins 50.000 pull new trailers out of IN . 3000.00 is the best I can do 7000lbs is 8 to 10 mpg and fuel is 4.35 to 4.65 a gallon thanks lfeezel (5/19/2008)
Response: i understand fuel is high; we have a diesel f350 dually & a jetta diesel - if i don't get a lower rate, we'll consider your bid. i would like to see your dot # so i can look you up on the fmcsa website, please? kenn & deb (5/19/2008)
Question: Hello, I am able to move your unit, fully insured, transport plates provided full pretrip safty inspection at $1.35 per mile. Available immediatly. DOT# 600892 c/o bennett transport. Thanks, Mike (5/19/2008)
Response: thanx for the bid, mike - but that's higher than we wanted to spend. and we know what diesel costs , we have 2 diesel vehicles... we're flexible on time; if you can get something else to haul with it on the way out or find something to bring back, we can work on the dates, but we need a lower price to make it work for us... also, does your insurance cover the cargo as well, if so, to what $$ amount? thanx, kenn & deb (5/19/2008)
Question: i was about to fax my insurance copy because i thought we had an agreed upon price but now i seen its been decined so let me kow if anything changes. (5/21/2008)
Response: you're still in the running; feel free to fax the ins info. if we pick you, what date could you pick up the trailer in virginia & approx when would it arrive in arizona? price is one factor, reliability & time factor are just about as important... thanx, kenn & deb (5/21/2008)
Response: i coould either pick it up end of next week or end of the following week. but i wont be around a fax machine til tomorrow morning so i'll go ahead and fax it then. (5/22/2008)
Response: we didn't get a fax from you today, were you able to fax it? kenn & deb (5/22/2008)
Response: after pickup it should take about 3 days (5/22/2008)
Response: can you narrow down the dates on when you might pick it up? thanx k & d (5/22/2008)
Response: sry. i picked up another haul and wont be in until late tonight or tomorrow but i'll try to faz you your info saturday (5/23/2008)
Response: hi: we've chosen another shipper; if it doesn't work out with them, we'll contact you (if possible) or re-list the item... thanx so much, kenn (5/23/2008)
Question: can it be haul by a f 250 (5/23/2008)
Response: maybe? it weighs less than 7000 lbs, but i already have a lower bid... thanx, kenn & deb (5/23/2008)
Question: if its in the condtition to haul behind my truck i do it for2300cash this weekend [phone number removed] (5/23/2008)
Response: i'm not sure that vehicle is enough to tow a food trailer over 2000 miles??? i think we'll pass... thanx, kenn & deb (5/23/2008)
Question: I live in Az. Pull with a F 350. Pulling a 5th Wheel from NM to FL early July. Is thay too far off ? Insured. Please take a look at my Feed Back. Thanks, Ron (6/3/2008)
Response: actually ron, that could work? what date do think you'ld pick it up in virginia & what date would it get back to arizona? i've updated the listing - it's been recommended to us to use a 'lowboy' (due to the height of 11') or f350 dually with sway bar to tow it, since it's top heavy. does that pose any problems for you? if not, let us know approx dates & feel free to place a bid... thanx, kenn & deb (6/5/2008)
Response: OK (6/4/2008)
Question: To be honest Kenn and Deb, the more I think about it, the more it seems that the answer to your stability issue is simply to add counterweight inside the trailer. I can't imagine that compressor weighs more than about 100 pounds or so, and that in itself wouldn't make it unstable. Even the vent isn't that heavy; it seems it's more just a matter of weight distribution down low. Let me know....David (6/8/2008)
Response: david: if this is go, a couple of questions before we hit the 'accept' button: -does your insurance cover cargo as well? and if so, to what amount? -is the $2500 an all-inclusive amount with no extras, tolls, fees, surprises, etc? if not, please advise any extra amounts... if all that is confirmed, we would like to have you do it! kenn & deb (6/8/2008)
Question: do u still need to ship ? if so, when is your pick up date ? (6/10/2008)
Response: looks like it - we just had to cancel with the last hauler, or he had to cancel due to the shipment he was bringing from california to the east coast, cancelled on him... by the way, what kind of vehicle do you have? we've updated the listing - it's been recommended to us to use a 'lowboy' (due to the height of 11') or 1 ton dually with anti-sway bar to tow it, since it's top heavy. does that pose any problems for you? one hauler said putting sand bags or cement bags in the trailer itself will help lower & balance the center of gravity? there are over 200 gallons of water tanks that could be filled, but not sure how secure they are to to the trailer, could come loose going 2200 miles at 65-70 mph? if not a problem, let us know approx dates & feel free to place a bid. we would like to get it asap but can be accomodating if the equipment, price & reliability is right? thanx, kenn & deb (6/10/2008)
Response: i can pick up asap but all i've to offer is my 3500 dually to tow it with. (6/10/2008)
Response: a dually 3500 is fine, do you have an anti-sway bar? kenn & deb (6/10/2008)
Response: no sway bar, can the tank be filled with water ? that might help out. (6/10/2008)
Response: are you still interested or should i go on the another hauler? thanx, kenn & deb (6/11/2008)
Response: sorry but i won't be able to pick up your trailer, i had another bid acceptance. good luck (6/11/2008)
Question: sorry, when we bid on this a month ago fuel was cheaper, I don't think we can help you. we have to make a living too. Thanks KingTransport (6/12/2008)
Question: My 3000.00 bid is to haul your trailer on my 50 ft. trailer due to the stability problem with the trailer. I feel that this would be the safest and most convienient way to move this trailer. Please let me know ASAP so that I may arrange a load coming back. Can you also let me know the dates that they would like to have this shipped. Thanks, Express Shipping (6/13/2008)
Response: i didn't your question before i sent mine to you... do you have a low boy trailer, cause the food trailer is 11' tall & we were told it was too high for a flat bed, etc... we would like to have it picked up asap, but as we said in the earlier message, we've lost a lot time due to the hauler not being able to get a return trip confirmed or having the other end of the trip cancelled on them... in other words, we're flexible on dates to an extent, but we don't want to accept your deal, turn down a sure thing with someone else that's a higher price & then possibly have your arrangement turn sour due to the 3rd party flaking out or cancelling - does that make sense? kenn & deb (6/13/2008)
Response: hi ken and deb i have a load lined up for my back haul from arizona i have $50,000 in insurence and i will be hauling your trailer on my trailer so i dont need the sway bars and i can pick up your trailor any time from today and i will be delivering on or befor the 20 let me know if this works for you so i can get it all lined up thanks express shipping (6/13/2008)
Response: if we accept today, if you don't get the return haul confirmed, we assume you would not be able to do our shipment, is that right? and the 11' height isn't a problem & the $3000 is all-inclusive, no extras for fuel, insurance, tolls or anything else? kenn & deb (6/13/2008)
Response: if you except my bid today i will delever your trailer to you even if my back haul cancel with no outher charges to you thanks express shipping and the 11' is no problem (6/13/2008)
Response: actually, 1 more question - we're wondering if instead of dropping it off in dragoon, you might drop it off at a rv place in tucson, since we need to do a little work on the trailer after we get it here? it's called: carl's rv & their zip is 85714 is that easier/harder, same price? kenn & deb (6/13/2008)
Response: no problem with droping it off in Tucson az (6/13/2008)
