Questions for this shipment:

Question: Sorry I had to cancel my bid. Couldn't find any other shipments along that route to make it worth the gas money or allow me to lower my price to you. Maybe next time, or if something changes. bschrock (7/18/2009)
Response: Dear bschrock, Thank you for writing. That is ok. I understand. I can wait and watch for bids. Have a good day! Karen (7/18/2009)
Question: Hello Karen - any chance your boy could go the last week of July? I did see your delivery dates in August, but we are coming down from St.Paul @ July 27 and could take him then - please advise! (7/18/2009)
Response: Hi! If he could arrive at my place on the 26th or early am 27th it would work. Otherwise I would be across country myself. Thanks. Karen (7/19/2009)
Response: Uggh - won't work, sorry! Good Luck with your new boy, Zorana (7/19/2009)
Response: Hi! Who is Zorana??? Karen (7/20/2009)
Response: Karen, I am Michael's wife (Equine Shuttle Service/ESS), I do all the booking :-) (7/20/2009)
Response: Hello, That's nice. Has your husband been transporting for very long? Will he be coming this way in August? Has he had experience with alpacas? What do you transport the animals in? Is he interested in transporting my male alpaca? Is that why you are writing? Have a good day. Thanks. Karen (7/20/2009)
Response: Hi Karen, my husband is coming down with a horse trailer from St.Paul, MN on 7/27, and I was checking, if your alpaca could travel on that day. Unfortunately you will be gone exactly when he would arrive, so it will not work. Good Luck with your new boy! (7/20/2009)
Response: Thank you! And I hope you get another shipment to add to your trip. Have a good night. Karen (7/20/2009)
Response: Hi Karen, my husband is in St.Paul again right now, and could take your Alpaca down with him tomorrow - any chance you will be home for the delivery this weekend??? Zorana/ Equine Shuttle Service (8/12/2009)
Response: Hi! Good to hear from you! I have been home a few days and leave tomorrow morning again for DFW. I will be back late Sunday night. However I will be here Aug. 17, 18, 19 til noon as well as Aug. 23-31st if I can get the transport scheduled. I appreciate your inquiry. Have a good night. Karen (8/12/2009)
Response: Oh no - soooo close.... He would have to pick up by this evening, and deliver by Saturday - any way he could bring your boy to a friend's place or your vet?? (8/13/2009)
Response: Hi ESS! Thanks anyway. My vet is about 45 minutes away. My only friend with a farm is at the hospital with a very sick mother. I am sure that Vince would need some notice too to have medical stuff in order and be home etc. for the alpaca pick up. With more notice I could have traded this trip up or down too. Have a good night. Maybe next trip. Thanks. Karen (8/13/2009)
Response: Thank you kindly for your bid request - I will place a bid, if we come close to your pick-up area - nothing planned so far, sorry. (9/12/2009)
Response: Hi ESS, Ok thank you for answering. Have a good day! Karen (9/12/2009)
Question: Hi, do you still need your Alpaca shipped? I am working on another run that way and my husband Tom and I have experience with shipping a load of Alpacas from OH to FL (in my profile), none were kickers and had 1 spitter! So, let me know and I will place a bid at the time of the other run being confirmed for this coming weekend hopefully. Thanks! Crystal (8/2/2009)
Response: Hi, Yes, I still need shipping. I just took this first week of August off totally but will go back to work the 7th. I also have the last eight days of August off too. There are a few other days off also including the 11th and 12th. When I do work I am out of state. Thanks. I hope to work something out soon to get him shipped. (8/3/2009)
Response: I will place a bid as soon as I can get something that direction. Working on one now for OCT 5-9th....Thanks~ (9/17/2009)
Response: Hello Keenapp, October 5th through 9th would be great! Let me know what you can work out. Hope you are able to get others onboard. Sincerely, Karen (9/17/2009)
Question: Thankyou for your bid request. I may be able to do this for you next week for $400. I have never handled an alpaca before and am very interested for the opportunity to learn. I will need all the advice and info you can provide. Let me know if you want me to place a formal bid for the time and amount I mentioned. Thanks,Marcia (9/12/2009)
Response: Hi Marcia, Thanks for your reply. Alpacas I think you will find are much easier to handle than horses. They need hay and water and a space away from other animals. This one is easier than you can imagine. I wrote several transporters. I am hoping to meet my target of $350.00. My others came on transports carrying other animals and were only half that for each of them. I understand it is more with a partial load. If I cannot meet my $350.00 I would love to hear back from you! Thank you! Yes, any day next week is great too! Karen (9/12/2009)
Question: Hi I can do this for $375 but your alpaca would have to ride over to Ohio before we would be headed down to TN. If its not a problem for him/her to be on the trailer for an extra day and a half then I will place a bid. I have a really big area in the horse trailer that would easily accomodate her. Let me know. (9/18/2009)
Response: Hi! I think it is about 13 hours from WI to TN not sure. I don't think two and one half days on that trailer would be a good idea. However I also am not sure what part of Ohio you are talking about. Guess what ? I just tonight made a deal to purchase one more alpaca, only a yearling. He is in Ohio. The town I believe is Brookfield. Could you please see if that would be in line with the route from my WI pick up address to me in Nashville? - - - - - - IF it is not out of the way causing more stress on the first one, what you would charge to stop to add the other little boy to that trip? This just came up. I haven't seen a map. Please check. I don't want to put them under stress. If I sould transport the second one on another trip I will. Thanks so much for your quick response! Also, do you bed them down in straw for the ride? Looking forward to hearing back. Sincerely, Karen (9/19/2009)
Response: Hi, The second alpaca would be on our way. It wouldn't be a problem to pick up in Brookfield. I can bed your alpaca's down on straw if you like, thats no poblem. I can also keep water in the stall with them. I don't know what alpaca's eat but if you want them to have hay, feed, etc I will be glad to keep that in front of them as well. If the 2 alpacas will get along they can ride together in the front half of our trailer. That area is 9 ft by 7 ft, would that be a large enough space for them to both bed down. I have a full stud divider that would keep them seperate from the horses on the back of the trailer. I understand your concerns about puting stress on them. The reason it will take an extra day to go over to Ohio is because we rest every night so for 8-10 hours we stop. I would think your alpacas would rest well while the trailer is stopped. I can promise to give them lots of attention and care. I can pick up and deliver both alpacas for $600. Just let me know. (9/19/2009)
Response: Dear addycravens, If you can do it for $550.00 we have a deal. They will have plenty of space in 9x 7. They need straw to bed down in and water and just the regular bermuda, orchard grass or timothy (or a blend) for their hay. (just no alfalfa please, - - too rich). They are nice boys. Very easy. Alpacas are very peaceable animals anyway. Please transport with halters on but no lead ropes. Thats about it. I think you are right. They should sleep when you do. Do you have a way of locking their area so they are secure while you sleep? Thanks, Karen (9/19/2009)
Response: Hi Karen, With the 15% fee that Uship takes out I can't do it for less then $600. I try to give the best rate possible, Uship makes it difficult because of the fee they charge. If you want me to do it for $600 I will be picking up on the 23rd. I do keep the entire trailer locked at all times with Brinks Security locks. We typically have very expensive horses on the trailer and I am always worried about somebody messing with the back doors. The curb side of the trailer has high sides with slats for ventilation so their is no door or window. The road side of the trailer has drop windows that are locked unless we are feeding or watering. Let me know what you want to do. Also I will have to buy some bermuda hay because all we carry on the trailer for the horses is alfalfa. I only have shavings so I will have to buy some straw for them as well. This is not a problem but is a little bit of an extra expense for me. :) Thanks again, Addy Cravens (9/19/2009)
Response: Dear Addy, Shavings would be a disaster! I had two shipped and shavings were used. It was still tearing all their suri fiber up three months after they arrived and totally ruined it! Had to shear them to get rid of it. So, yes they need a bale of hay and a bale of straw for bedding that is about $12. The rest is your tip you would have gotten anyway. I always tip. We can do it for $600.00. Can you please guarantee that they will have no shaviings in with them? I look forward to getting them home safely. Thank you very much. You sound very responsible. I feel good about using your service. Thanks sincerely, Karen (9/19/2009)
Response: Karen, sounds like the shavings were a disaster! I had no idea! I will guarantee that they will not have any shavings in their stall area. We will use only straw, I will probably get them 2 bales to be sure they are comfortable. :) Its so nice to hear that you tip, thats not something most people do anymore. We would have been really surprised, we never expect a tip! You can go ahead and accept the bid I have already placed if you want. I can then send you a shipping contract that shows the pick up of the 2nd alpaca in Ohio. After you accept my bid you will get my phone # and email. Just get in touch with me when you can. Thanks again, Addy (9/19/2009)
Response: Dear Addy, Great! Looking forward to working with you! When should I tell the farm with the pick up in Ohio that you will pick up there? I just made that deal last night and haven't even paid them for the alpaca yet. I can overnight the payment for him. I will talk with them today. Thank you again! Karen (9/19/2009)
