Questions for this shipment:
Question:
Thank you for the bid request. When were you looking for transport? The largest trailer we have at this time is a 6 horse that is enclosed which is the white trailer in our pics we also have a 24ft stock which is the red in our pics. Would love to help you move your deer. Please let us know if we could help. AJ (4/28/2009)
Response:
Pick up date in NY as close to May 4th as possible. Your 6 horse may work. How long is it? Can you remove inner panels to allow for only a couple compartment? Thank you for the quick response, it is appreciated. Dave (4/29/2009)
Response:
Dave We would be able to pick up on May. 4. This would be just your animals on this haul. What price range would you be looking at for this haul? AJ (4/29/2009)
Response:
Yes,just our animals to be hauled. We will need the whole trailer. Your 6 horse is ideal because it's fully enclosed, though I'm not sure it is long enough. It is also helpful to have seperate compartments like your red trailer. Our concern is that its to open along the sides. Do you have a way of covering the stock sides? Some trailers have a pexiglass type insert. We are shopping for the best price available to us. Please keep in mind once deer are loaded our goal is to get them home as quickly and safely as possible. There is no haying and watering stops needed. The less stops made the better it is on the deer. Deer will be loaded for you and we will be on same route home in another vehicle if assistance is needed from us. Thank you, Dave (4/29/2009)
Response:
We would be able to put in the plexiglass in our red stock trailer, leaving only the very top row open for ventilation, if this would work better for you. We would be using a two man drive team so this would be direct door to door transport Using the entire trailer our price will end up at about $2300., is this within your budget? Alyce (4/29/2009)
Response:
Our normal rate for the entire trailer would be $3.00 a mile we could drop this to $2.25 a mile which would put the cost at $2500. The truck may haft to stop for a couple hours the first night for driver saftey. We do not have plexiglass inserts for our stock, but putting them in would eliminate the ventilation. I would prefer to haul them in the stock just because it is set up better for animals to be loose in. AJ (4/29/2009)
Question:
Do you have a price range that you need to stay in? (4/29/2009)
Response:
Hello, we are looking for the best price available to us. Keep in mind once deer are loaded for you, we need to get them to point B as quickly and safely as possible with the least amount of stops. There is no watering or haying needed. we will also be on same route home to give assistance if needed. Thank you, Dave (4/29/2009)
Response:
My price for this trip would be $2.50/mile. Would this fit in your transportation budget? If so I will bid a little bit under that. Let me know asap so I can place a bid and get you booked. I have some others pending on this trip next week so let me know asap. (4/29/2009)
Question:
Hi do still need transport? (4/29/2009)
Response:
Hello, yes we are still looking for a transport to get our deer home. Thank you, Dave (4/29/2009)
Question:
Are you flexible with your dates at all??? I have a load leaving out May 3rd but we are full...I would be able to haul 7 days after that with a straight through trip to NY...we have the enclosed trailer with dividers that can be opened all the way out. (4/29/2009)
Response:
We are flexible with dates. Not sure if we can do 7 days. I have to double check on health and certificate for movement papers. We are sometimes required to move them within a certain amount of days from approval date. Is the trailer you a refering to the white Exiss in the picture? If not does the trailer have a ramp or doors in the rear. Doors will make loading and unloading safer for us. Thank you, Dave (4/30/2009)
Question:
Just a quick question as to the number of deer, you have stated to other shippers that you need more room, 5 whitetail deer would have plenty of room in the stock type trailers listed. Is there more than 5? In truth too much room is actually very dangerous, as if something on the road spooked them, such as a truck going by, they would have running room to hurt themselves. It's always best to haul cattle/deer or any stock not used to trailering with not so much running room. You could easily & safely fit 6 larger Jersey cows in a 16' trailer just for perspective. Also would around May 14th be too late for you? Thank You (4/30/2009)
Response:
There is a total of 28 does. May 14th might be to late. I will need to double check dates on the certificate of movement and health papers. How long is the trailer your considering? 16ft will be to small. Thank you, Dave (4/30/2009)
Response:
LOL, 28 is a huge number difference! I do have a 20' open for the 3rd weekend in May. But I'm not convinced that 28 would fit. We have much larger ones too, (28' & 53') but they are booked solid till the last weekend in May. We would also not be able to give you a "cheep" price to run the tractor-trailer. If nothing else works out for you on here please let me know, we'll see what we could do, but I would highly suggest that you edit your listing to clearly included the actual number of does, may be also in the title and /or the special needs area. I do you wish you the best of luck and hope you find someone soon. Have a great weekend! (5/1/2009)
Question:
Very sorry about the double post I was not aware she was anwsering at the same time. The price of $2300 is correct I will correct our bid. AJ (4/30/2009)
Response:
Thank you for the correction. I'm still confused. One post says you have pexiglass inserts and a two man team. Do you still need a break for driver safety with a 2 man team? Also does your trailer have a ramp in the rear or doors? The pexiglass limits the ventilation, but it is safer for the deer. Thank you, Dave (4/30/2009)
Response:
We can put plexiglass on the bottom slot which would leave 2 above that. Keep in mind the bottom slot is about 4-5ft from the floor. We will have a 2 man team but we do haft to stop every 22 hours per regulations. AJ (4/30/2009)
