Additional Information:
Hello,
I have a 1968 Airstream travel trailer that is in a shop right now in St. Louis, MO. The shell is off the frame, and the frame has been welded in the broken areas.
I would be looking for someone to ship the shell and frame to New Braunfels Texas (Near SAN ANTONIO). It is currently unable to be towed like a normal RV, and would need a flatbed, or one of the nice trailers like I see on your shipping page.
I am a deployed reserve soldier, but can do whatever you need me to do to arrange this.
Trailer is 22 feet from bumper to hitch, and is <8 feet wide.
Thank you for your time.
Steven Burrows
Questions for this shipment:
Question:
I really wish I could help, but I have an enclosed car hauler. Good Luck from one US Veteran to another,USMC. Proud to be an American. (4/21/2007)
Question:
Hello steve, I am a teacher and I do uship in summer. I have a deckover flatbed that would haul your camper. The question would be loading and unloading. I have capability of 12ft ramps with dovetail rear end. I have winched trailers onto my trailer like this before. I am based out of ST Louis and would go almost anywhere you need for $1 a mile. Would love to help you out. I am registered with DOT. Thanks, tooldad. (4/26/2007)
Response:
tooldad...we might be able to work this out, but I need to hear from my buyer first. WIll let you know when I hear something. Steve (4/26/2007)
Question:
any word on shipment yet? Thanks, tooldad (4/28/2007)
Response:
Tooldad, Don't know where it is going yet, but if it goes to Grandrapids, Michigan I was bid $500 from a ushipper. That was his bid, but I haven't officially spoken with him. I have been waiting to hear from him until I take case of the shipping. I don't know what is going to happen with all of this because the buyer hasn't finalized anything yet. Steve (4/28/2007)
Question:
I would match that rate to go to Michigan. The soonest I could move it would be June 4th. Hope I can help. Thanks, tooldad (4/28/2007)
Response:
Tooldad.... The problem I am running into is the shop the trailer is at. They have had this trailer for 6 months and have not completed repairs that were spelled out in our contract. The shell is currently off the frame. All it needs is to be bolted to the frame to be able for loading on a flatbed. After waiting all this time I have asked them to just place the cap back on the frame, and bolt it in a few spots in order to secure it enough for flatbed transport. The shop is demanding I pay the m the additional $1350 remainder of the $2700 from the original job, but they will not be finishing the job. They claim that the work is 1/2 done, and bolting it down would be the entire job left to do other than adding the floor and rewiring lights. I am looking into complaints with the better business bureau, MO attorney General, and small claims court since they have lost or broken vintage parts. How much to move it from Olive close to 170 to Ofallon, MO? After that I can shi (4/29/2007)
Question:
Sounds like the trailer shop is trying to pull a fast one on you. I can move it across town for $250. That is to compensate for loading and unloading time. How long would it need to be in Ofallon? Would it make more sense for me to keep it on the trailer until it needs to be shipped. I only use that trailer hit and miss. Most of my shipments are enclosed trailer. I would then give you $100 off if you needed it shipped to MI or TX using my services again. I was planning on getting a winch to load travel trailers onto my flatbed, so this is the perfect excuse to get one if you need me to be of assistance. I can pickup any evening at or after 4pm or any Sat or Sun any time it is daylight. Tooldad (4/29/2007)
Response:
tooldad.... The price to Grand Rapids was $500 you said...I would have had you move it from the shop to Grand Rapids originally. If I had you pick it up at the shop and keep it on the flat bed (Not taking it to Ofallon), you would want the 500 plus an additional $150? Steve (4/29/2007)
Question:
There is another flatbed shipment from Mich to Illinois I am watching for a return load if I would do your shipment. I will deliver to GR, MI for $500+ushipfee if I only had to load and unload once. I will place another bid to go to Mich. I can store up till first week of June (4th). (4/29/2007)
