Question: Hello - would like to confirm if the shipper (or originating location) would be willing to place & secure item(s) to suitable pallet / skid so as to be acceptable for common carrier service? ... THX (8/27/2008)

Response: It's in a garage, a big garage which is my understanding which allows for pretty easy access, originator even suggested he had help to put on truck, but I don't know how to get a pallet to him, unless the transport brought one with him.

Response: well ok ... but can you inquire if the seller / shipper would be able to come up with (or scrounge)one? ... any local jobsite usually has extras, or hardware store, feed mill, Lowes, Home Depot, industrial area, shopping center on the receiving access area, etc. ... one just has to look around or altenatively can make one up ... if this can be acquired or obtained then can offer a rate for common carrier service ... let me know ... THX (8/27/2008)

Response: Does it just have to be standing on a pallet or secured to a pallet? There is no crate -- will a common carrrier be able to deliver this without damage?
I'll ask if they can find a pallet.
S. (8/27/2008)

Response: Your prompt reply is welcomed ... to answer the question: secured to pallet or shipping is always better than just standing on ... stove must be within the foot print of the pallet or shiping skid with no overhang ... cardboard corner protectors / shrink wrapped in place never hurts ... an "ounce " or prevention is always worth a "pound" of cure ... if shipper can at least do this then can quote a common carrier service rate ... let me know ... THX (8/28/2008)

Response: I'll try and push him to do it.... but what would the quote be?

Response: understand ... would budget $460 as Business to Residential with liftgate for both curbside ... transit time about 6 business days not including day of pickup ... let me know if doeable & will submit formal bid ... THX (8/28/2008)

Response: okay... shipper thinks he can get it on a pallet for me.
Please let me know if this will work for you. He said he thought he had a four foot pallet at work and stove is almost exactly 4 feet as I recall.
Please let me know ASAP.
S. (8/28/2008)

Response: ok & as per uShip rules, bid rated all inclusive per posting info: “Business to Residential” with liftgate service curbside for both ... Shipper (consignor) to load palletized item(s) onto liftgate & Consignee to unload same from liftgate ... Do you have any questions or require rate and/or service clarification?? ... If so, then please ask before accepting ... THX (8/28/2008)

Response: First off, are you transportUSALogistics?
Do you know the driver picking up? I'm trying my best to get this packed as best as possible, but it may need a blanket thrown over it. All I care about is that it arrives without being knocked around, dented or damaged. Im' happy to pay for this service, but it's not being professonally packed.
I'm okay with getting it off the truck. And I'm sure I can get it loaded on the liftgate. When exactly can it be picked up? Delivery within 6 days after that? Will the rates change?
Thanks,
Steve (8/28/2008)

Response: to anwser your question: Yes ... however, have cancelled as item will not be accepted loosed or "un-palletized" and not suitably prepped for shipment by a common carrier ... common carriers don't "throw" a blanket over items nor does the driver (or carrier) do the shipment preparation for the shipper ... another type of carrier (like a household mover for example) may be willing to accept as is ... thanks for responding promptly (8/28/2008)

Question: Hi. Im the owner of Five Star Moving company,we would gladly transport your items for 2500.oo. I have many references, and will do it cheaper if fuel cost aint high. I always go on every job to ensure perfection. Thanks Casey Short! (8/27/2008)

Response: 2500? Look at the average shipping for cross country shipping of an item this size and weight on Uship. It's between 400-900... I realize fuel costs are hight.. but your rate is really high.

Question: Hi, could you please state the correct "height" of the stove and the hood, I believe they are incorrect. Thank you! (8/28/2008)

Response: The stove top I believe is 36 inches tall. The back splash which makes it look taller, comes off and should be attached to the back of the stove.
The hood is seperate as pictured.
