Bid placed 9/9/2006 4:42 PM CST
Expires 9/11 6:00 PM
Awaiting final plans before making shipping decision from among bids. Do you transport in enclosed vehicle or open truck? Do you carry furniture both in and out of homes or simply take to door? What precautions against damage and what happens if item is damaged in transport?
I am ready to commit to a shipper and would like to settle it today. I also wanted to make sure you understood my disclaimer. I have no idea of the actual weight of this furniture since I was forced to put in some numbers just to complete the screens for UShip. I am sure of the dimensions. I'm okay with your dates although the seller is available at any time from now on. I just want to be assured that you will take great care of this furniture (it is in impeccable condition) and that you will be able to carry it from inside the seller's home to the dining room of our home. I also have a commitment in early evening of the 27th (unless you deliver it sooner) and would like to get a general idea of when you would be at our home. Last question: how do I contact you directly, pay you etc.

I received your bid and am interested but awaiting other bids and finalizing my transaction. I do not know if I will have completed the process by your bid expiration. If it expires I will choose among the best available. Thanks.

Got your reply. If I can cement things before Saturday I will let you know- or see where we are both at when I'm done. I do have one more question: the only negative feedback you got on UShip involved the the person receiving the shipment having to carry in their own load. I also got the impression that it was only one individual. I may or may not be available and don't know that I have the expertise or back health to move a large china cabinet. Will you be able to move this furniture out of and into our homes?
Thanks,
JesseFurniture
That's fine. I will try and call the seller right now. Please address the following questions: Your one negative comment said that there was only one female mover on that job and that the seller (or buyer)had to move their own load. Will you be able to move all of my furniture by yourself out of the seller's home and into mine without damaging it? And, you realize that I have no idea how much it weighs since I only have the dimensions from the old catalogue I own? Not trying to prolong this, just be upfront. (Oh, I'm new to UShip and was wondering why you sent me two different bids.)
If I can't finalize things today with the seller are you still interested in moving my furniture?
I appreciate the reply. I wouldn't come to the door without clothes.
I spoke with the seller today and she is to get back to me. I mentioned your run today and the ball is in her court. She may contact me on my cell or not. If she gives the okay I will do my best to get back to you.
I am a little concerned about the moving part. The seller is older and may not be able to help get the furniture out. And, as much as I don't want to believe I have any physical limitations (aging gymnast that I am) I don't know if my back is up for moving a China Cabinet in without dropping it. I might be able to get help- depends when. I just thought that most movers included moving the furniture in and out of the truck (my previous experience.)
You do communicate well when it is longer than one sentence. Thank you

Do you move furniture in and out of the seller and buyer's home or just drive door to door? Is your van enclosed, how do you protect furniture and what happens in the event of damage?
