Question: Do you have the customs clearance taken care of? Also, is the weight estimate fairly accurate? (2/16/2009)

Response: For the customes clearance, we already have a form, because this is a fed equipment. The weight is base on the maximun pounds of the item description: 600 lbs.
If you have more questions please feel free to ask! (2/17/2009)

Response: Thanks! I'll have a quote to you this afternoon. I assume we may need a pallet jack at delivery as well? I am arranging for a liftgate and pallet jack at p/u. (2/17/2009)

Response: ok, thanks (2/20/2009)

Question: Forgot to ask, does this require a government contract to ship or any special credentials for a government facility? We are a certified DOD contractor. (2/17/2009)

Response: This shipment is between federal agency. I can request the other agency to fill the customs forms, but they don't have any equipment/box to put the item. So I need a vendor who can do the job. Also the equipment is comming to Puerto Rico, so the same vendor need's to have the flexibility to transport the item by Air or Sea, because this are the only to methods of shipment for Puerto Rico. And also need's to have the contacts to pick the item and deliver the same up to Dorado Lab.
If you qualify with those requierments, please send me the charge cost, so i can compare it with other's vendors who are participation on the bits.
Thanks,

Response: Okay, We can do all of that, but I want to make sure we are quoting on the write things. Is this item already packaged for shipping or do you need someone to package it for shipping as well as transport it (we have air and ocean capabilities)? Is there a time frame you need it delivered by? (2/17/2009)

Response: Frame until now, it was not a problem for now, but packaging, yes. I need that some one can pack the item, because the Georgia Lab. doesn't have the capability the pack the item. Consider the dimmensions of the product. Once you have all the numbers for cost, please let me know or bit so I can see it. Thanks. (2/17/2009)

Response: We can send it not boxed or crated for $600.46. I can find out what it would cost to package it, if you would prefer. If we shipped with some sort of packaging, it would be $507.77. (2/17/2009)

Question: Edgar - If this is already boxed or crated, our quote is $507.77. If this is not boxed or crated, $600.46. Let me know if these are in the ballpark. Duties, Taxes, etc are not included. (2/17/2009)

Response: Item is not pack. And what I need after all cost have been included from you, from packing up to delivery to PR, is the final cost.
I don't like to deal with surprises of other charges, once the final number had been discuss and accepted by the vendor (you) and the Agency. Bad experiences from the past.
Thanks for your quick responses. (2/17/2009)

Response: I understand your frustration we don't like suprises either, that's why we want all of the information. I am getting a quote for packing this item - I will gove you a full quote when I have all of the information. I will not be including duties and taxes in my bid. Is this being taken care of by you, or either the shipper or the reciever? (2/17/2009)

Response: for now I will run with all cost. I waiting e-mail respond from the Georgia Lab., So i can give you more detail about the centrifuge. (2/17/2009)

Response: To quote for taxes and duties, we would need a copy of the commercial invoice which is not possible to get through this system. I will not include that in my quotes, because I can not accurately estimate them. I am still working on a quote for packaging your shipment, we are going forward with the assumption that you would want it crated. Please let me know if that is not correct. Also, can you find out where the machine is located in the building? If it's on a table and they have no way of getting it down, we will need special equipment for that as well. (2/17/2009)

Question: What kind of value do you want to declare for insurance purposes? (2/17/2009)

Response: let me ask some questins to Georgia Lab. Manager about the item, so i can give you a more detailed Information. (2/17/2009)

Response: Thanks! Please let me know when you know more. We can definitely do this properly and for a very competitve price. Andrea/Saturn Freight Systems (2/18/2009)

Question: Okay, I have worked this out based on our info to date. The total would be $857.37. That includes $295 for crating and $473.21 for transportation. Excludes duties and taxes which are typically paid by the shipper at clearance in Puerto Rico. If you want us to handle it we can. Transportation would take approximately 7-10 days. We have included $0.50/lb for standard insurance. More insurance can be purchased. We have also assumed that the machine can be retrieved easily with a pallet jack. If it is sitting on a table, then there would be additional charges. If you have more details, let us know. Any other feedback on the quote would be appreciated. Thanks! Andrea/Saturn Freight Systems (2/18/2009)

Response: See last answer. (2/20/2009)

Response: Okay. I assume then that the freight is not on a table and that they will be able to come in and pick it up? Also, do you have a value that you want to declare or insure the product for? (2/20/2009)

Response: Centerfuge is on the floor, It's a medium machine. And Customs declaration can be made thru the Fed Lab. Maybe insure the item. Some laws from US Customs don't apply for Internal Equipment Movement. We take charge of the Custom Declaration Form. (2/20/2009)

Response: That's perfect. If you wanted it insured, though, I need the value of the item. (2/20/2009)

Question: I have checked with my office. There is just a form to be filled out and since you would not being paying taxes, you are better off filling out and submitting it yourself. We would be charging you for something you could easily do yourself. If you still want us to include that in our quote, let me know. (2/23/2009)

Response: Ok, let me see what they can do with the form. If they are not able or doesn't want to do the process of the form, I will reply so you can added to the quote. (2/24/2009)

Response: Thanks, just let us know. Also, do you know how the other items are packaged yet? (2/25/2009)

Response: For the balance and Auto clave, they need to be packed to by the vendor who we select. (2/26/2009)

Response: Okay. I'll get a quote for that shipment. Please advise as to the status of the centerfuge shipment. When do you anticipate making your decision? What if anything do we need to do to get our bid into the mix? (2/26/2009)

Question: Can you advise on the status of this shipment? I will hold of on putting my bid, again, until I hear from you. (2/27/2009)

Response: Sorry for the delay of information, I wasnt at the office. As soon as I get an answer. (3/2/2009)

Response: No problem. Thanks! (3/2/2009)

Question: Is this still an active shipment? (3/16/2009)

Response: Yes! (3/23/2009)

Response: Do you want us to submit our quote again? (3/23/2009)

Response: Yes, please. I had been very busy this dates. I apologize for the delay to your questions. (3/24/2009)

Response: I have submitted the quote several times now. Is there something you are looking for? We would like the business. (3/31/2009)

Response: Sorry for the late reply. I had been busy this dates and also out of the office due TDY on Virgin Islands. I talked to the budget office to know what are the document that you need from us to close this deal from you. I just get back today. Please, if you know the form or the name of the form that you need from us let me know as soon as possible to close the deal. Thanks, and once again i apologize for the delay of my answers. (4/7/2009)

Question: Edgar - Where are we at with this shipment? (4/7/2009)

Response: In our last e-mail conversation you said that you can charge extra if you handle all the documentation to bring the equipment to PR. After conversation with the budget department they ask what document if the one that you need from us to bring the equipment. There is where I'm stock, because we have 2 differents documents for equipment. One is the Comercial Invoice, the one that we use with Fed EX, and the other if the Tax Exempt document. I need to know what is the document that you need from us to close the deal with you. The Budget Dept. agree with your bit! (4/7/2009)

Response: Hi - We would need a copy of the commercial invoice and you should write your tax exempt id on it. We also have some addiional documents that we would need you to fill out and then we can take care of it. Please let me know if you would like to move forward. (4/13/2009)

Response: Let me talk with financew division, so they can take care of the commercial invoice. As soon as I get the confirmation from them about the document, I will contact you so we can close the bit. (4/17/2009)

Response: Sounds good. Make sure they put your tax exempt number on the invoice. (4/17/2009)
