Question: Hi, do you still need this done. Please let me know ASAP. What were you realistically hoping to pay to have this done? A truck with an experienced professional mover will soon be departing on trip headed from west to east. (10/2/2006)

Response: Yes this is still active. Frankly, we have no idea as to what is reasonable. We were hoping the bids would establish the most realistic range. We are flexible in time but would be willing to pay some premium for quicker delivery. (10/3/2006)

Response: The goods are in storage in Tulsa and we are in Virginia. If I understand your question, you would not pick up at the storage facility. We would have to bring the goods to you. We can't do that. (10/4/2006)

Question: Hi Earl here iam Houston based carrier w trailer and truck i have items delivering in VA and Marland=d.c. area this next weeks end or sooner but so far i have 4 drops and limited time fram to do all them i willing to load-Unload myself Pad and plastic wrap all items as needed for safe transport I have PU in DALLAS and drop in KS city area as of now then over too VA/MD 4 (deliverys) will $1695.00 bid be agreeable DOOR to Door (i handle all transports and packing MYSELF) iam not a Broker as off wed i have a motorcyle and anther family hm item/boxes from storage also PH to VA TX 2 VA... Ck also my feedback as MEMBER id on Ebay (IMOVE4LESS) is there on site person @ storage too open and sign for items ?? or not ?? this will be COD pls.. Response: Ron: Maybe I am missing something but we have bids considerably less than your bid by carriers that have 100% positive reviews. Why did you make an offer for 2100 when there were much lower bids. I am not adverse to paying more than the lowest bid but I need a reason to do so. Question: Just a suggestion, Before you accept a bid ask and check for MC & DOT numbers, Tax ID, and Insurance. There's a lot of illegal movers, and scammers on these bid boards, some quote a price and at the other end won't deliver until you pay more, other's when they have damage, have no insurance, and with some, you never see your furniture. Make sure your contract reads: No other charges apply, final price. Good luck and be safe out there. (10/5/2006)

Question: heres the thing; i am a regular house hold goods carrier with household authority and insurance. a lot of carriers on this site are hot shot guys,(pick up with trailer) or company drivers looking to make a few extra bucks because they have extra room on their trailer. Now im not saying that your bids are bad ar that the guys will give you bad service because a lot of these guys actually do really good jobs least wise as far as you can read on their feed back. what I am saying is that for me to do this that is what I would charge thx ron (10/5/2006)

Response: We are satisfied that we have enough bidders and we want to make a decision by 9 am Eastern time tomorrow, October 7. We have six proposals with a low bid of $1295 and a high of $2100. I added one piece (a box with an unassembled computer desk) that I had forgotten. There are no stairs at the pickup (a storage facility) and one flight at the drop off (an apartment). Two people will be needed at the pickup and drop off to move the sofa and futon. All of the proposed time frames are acceptable. Please make your final bid (all inclusive with all charges identified) by 9 am tomorrow and we will make a decision by noon.
