Dustin (1/24/2009)

Response: hello, my driver does not have airbrake endosement on his cdl. sorry (1/24/2009)

Question: SHIPPER, I MAY BE ABLE TO WORK THIS IN TO DRIVE FOR U AT THE END OF THE MONTH INSTEAD OF THE ABOVE DATES. (1/24/2009)

Response: The end of February or the end of this month?
thanks
Dustin (1/24/2009)

Response: in feb we can haul this on our trailer. (1/24/2009)

Response: That could work. Do you have a lowboy or what kind of trailer? It would probably be ok on a regular trailer as well since there is no box on it. I think the lowest bridge close to here is 15'. The guy I bought it from said it can stay there for a couple weeks. (1/24/2009)

Response: HELLO WE HAVE A GOOSE NECK. THX (1/25/2009)

Question: Hi, if the laws are the same there as they are here then I won't need a CDL for the truck as its under 26,0001 regardless of Air Brakes or not. I'll drive it for your max price if the law is the same there. (1/24/2009)

Response: This truck is GVW (1/24/2009)

Response: OK? I don't understand. (1/24/2009)

Response: What dont you understand?
The manufacturers gross vehicle weight rating for this truck is listed at 33,000 lbs. Anything over 26,000 lbs GVW you need a CDL to drive.
You don't go by how much the truck weighs or what GVW the truck is licensed for. You can license it for less than the manufacturers GVW rating, but you still need a CDL to drive it.
I can license this truck to haul only 26,000 GVW, but am still required to have a CDL because of the manufacturers rating. It seems stupid to me that they do it this way, but thats the way they set the rules.
Thanks
Dustin (1/25/2009)

Response: I don't have a CDL. Will this truck have a license plate on it? (1/25/2009)

Response: It will probably just have a temporary permit in the window.
LOL, now I see why you didn't understand earlier. I didn't realize that my first response to your question only said "This truck is GVW". I guess I forgot to type the weight in. I meant to say "This truck is 33,000 GVW". Sorry about that. (1/25/2009)

Response: It's cool about the earlier response. I figured that is what had happened. I did not mind it. Also I wish I could help out, but I don't have a CDL. Are there any scales between the two locations? (1/25/2009)

Response: I can't remember if there are any scales or not, but I don't think it's worth the risk if a person were to get stopped. It would suck to get it half way or so here and then get a ticket and have to park it and leave it.
Thanks,
Dustin (1/25/2009)

Question: I am based just outside of Boise, in Meridian, and could haul this up for you for your max price when I get back home. I am currently in California but expect to be back home by the end of the week. If this time frame and price would work for you, I can get you a bid so that we can get you booked and take care of you next. I am a DOT compliant and legal motor carrier with an excellent reputation here and elsewhere. Let me know if you want me to bid. Thanks, Kevin (Big Sky Transport) (1/25/2009)

Response: Would you be trailering or driving?
I appreciate all of you who have shown interest in helping me get this home.
I need to contact the guy I bought this from and make sure he will be available towards the end of this week, or how soon he will be available to send the truck on its way to me.
He said he had a few contacts in the Boise area he was going to look into as well for getting it shipped. In the mean time, I'm going to add a "$300 Book it now" if any of you are interested in that. I would just as soon get it booked and scheduled.
I am not in that big of a hurry to get it, so if any of you want to wait until we have a good stretch of weather that is fine with me. It is snowing pretty heavy up here right now. The guy I bought it from has it at a storage unit and said its ok there for a couple weeks.
Thanks,
Dustin (1/25/2009)

Response: I would put your truck on my trailer and bring it to you. I could drop down to your max of $400, but I would not be able to go down to $300. This is a mountainous route in the wintertime, 562 miles round trip out of Boise. I would be available anytime you were ready within a few days. I will be back in Boise at the end of the week. So, if you want to wait to see if someone will meet a $300 price, that is DOT compliant, and legal motor carrier, I understand. If you can't find a reputable hauler at that price, I remain willing and able to haul it for you for $400. I have excellent feedback here and elsewhere. Kevin (Big Sky Transport) (1/25/2009)

Response: That sounds like it would work for me. Do you have a way to load/unload the truck, or do you need a dock? Get ahold of me when you get back to Boise and we'll get everything coordinated with the guy I bought it from. Let me know if you need any more info or measurements from the truck.
thanks,
Dustin (1/25/2009)

Response: I have ramps I should be able to load it with. It is going on a 39 foot gooseneck flatbed. Weather over Donners Pass may delay me on my current run, but I still anticipate being home the end of the week. I have posted my bid below, so that we can get it on our calandar if you are comfortable with everything. If not, feel free to ask more questions and I will get to them as soon as I can.
