I have never transported horses before, however I do have access to a 2 horse trailer. the trailer is in perfect condition 7ft by 6ft. Response: Hi Fred, I am in no rush to get her back as I still need to add electrical wire to my fence and I need to check on the Coggins. I am hoping to have her home by the beginning of April. Is the health certificate mandatory? I did not need one in the past for transport. How much do they cost? And what is your charge for transport? What type of insurance is required by you to haul horses? What type of trailer do you have? She is fairly big as she is a draft horse. Am I missing anything else :)

AS FAR AS I KNOW THERE IS NOT AN INSURANCE COMPANY THAT WILL INSURE CARGO,OR LIVESTOCK. THE INSURANCE IS USUALLY PROVIDED BY THE OWNER.(MORTALITY,WHICH ONLY COVERS DEATH OF THE HORSE) I HAVE A 3 HORSE SLANT LOAD FEATHERLITE. I DONT BELIEVE IN STACKING 10 HORSES IN A TRAILER AT 1 TIME. Question: Hi there, before you waste money on a health certificate, it is not required inside the state, the state only requires a current coggins. If you cross the state line then they require both. Sometimes show barns will insist you have a HC, but in your case it is not neccasry. Just some friendly advice. Kelli, Lazy L (3/19/2008)
