Question: Hello, this is DJ (alliedtrades497) You posted in other info going to Tn? (10/23/2009)

Response: horse is moving from central IL down to Tennessee. is there something confusing about the posting? thank you for your time. (10/23/2009)

Response: Yes, Where are they going in Tn. The listing says the destination is Jena, La. I can pick up in Illinois, but need to know if the destination is on my route through Tn. Please let me know. Thanks for your consideration. DJ (alliedtrades497) (10/23/2009)

Response: Hi DJ! my apologies -- confusion on my part. turns out the adopter IS in LA (it was a diff horse that i was trying to get to Tn but that deal fell through)....
I have re-done the listing -- the way charity listings USED to work on here was that the hauler would offer a discount based upon being a charity. someone emailed me and told me now it means the hauler must do the run for free.
we're still a nonprofit, and we're still hopeful for a break on the cost to transport her to her new home, but we understand that haulers have bills to pay also. we're just hopeful that we can make our ride fit into someone else's trip and dramatically reduce the cost of getting this girl to her new home. Response: $535. I can pick up on Tuesday evening the latest to go with some race horses going through Jackson, Ms. I pull a custom built 34’ Stidham Trailer that was custom built to haul thoroughbred race horses. It is not the standard run-of-the-mill ‘cheap’ horse trailer or open bay ‘stock’ trailer. Trailer has cam to observe horses while in transit. I can haul 6 full size horses at one time in individual stalls. This is not a slant load trailer. Horses travel lengthways head-to-head in 24” stalls. Thank you for your consideration, DJ (alliedtrades497) (10/23/2009)

Response: did my answer get through to you ok? (10/23/2009)

Response: I have never found any exact uship info on charity drives, so I am not sure on pricing and get red flagged by what I post. My base operating cost is $.58 cpm. That would make your shipment $450. Sorry, but I have to know ALL my cost before I bid. I will keep looking for info on charity drives, maybe on the shipping side of this outfit. Thank you for your time. DJ (alliedtrades497) (10/23/2009)

Question: Hi, I'll be coming thru your area next week. Do you have Coggins/Health papers ready to go ? I have placed my bid for you under andiamosporthorses. Thanks, Andiamo SportHorses. (10/23/2009)

Response: andi,
She does have a coggins already, and we could have a health cert in time. I dont know if hte adopter will move that quickly. Currently I need to get her a rough quote to see if she can afford the transport. if you wish to give me a figure with a REQUIRED pick up date on it, that would be absolutely fine - or two quotes, one for your desird date and another if you have to make a later trip.
THANKS! (10/23/2009)

Response: Is the horse going to Tennessee or to Louisianna ? Thanks, Andiamo SportHorses. (10/23/2009)

Response: error on my part, sorry -- she is going to the zip code listed in louisiana. (10/23/2009)

Response: Thank you for the clarification. Let me know what will work for all involved. Thanks, Andiamo SportHorses. (10/23/2009)

Question: The lowest I can go is 500, no matter what the date. Diesel just jumped 10 cents overnight up to 2.79 a gallon in Texas. It's already over $3. in other areas. In the dialogue I noticed charity is no payment to hauler ? I cannot afford to haul for free. Sorry. (10/23/2009)

Response: no, we aren't expecting you to do it no payment. that was a misunderstanding on our part of what uships charity program rules meant -- we've been told it now means no payment by hauler which isn't reasonable. no wonder no one responded to our listing!
i'll let the adopter know you could do $500, find out if she can do late next week and if not, and see what dates work for her, thank you!! (10/23/2009)

Response: Thanks, just let me know. Andiamo SportHorses. (10/24/2009)

Question: Hello again! This is DJ (alliedtrades497) I will place a one day bid $425 to transport at a fill rate. Horse MUST be picked up late, late Tues or early, early, Weds. Does the horse travel well with others. Will be traveling with other horses going South and getting picked up Weds Morning in Anderson, Indiana. Thank you, DJ (alliedtrades497) (10/26/2009)

Question: Do you still need this transport? You need to contact Uship and get them to correct your ad as a charitable transport.
They will reduce the bid amounts by the value of their fee so you can get this horse transported for less price. Hopefully I will not get red flagged for trying to help you save a few bucks. (10/29/2009)

Response: thanks but when i posted it as a charity listing i got no replies and 2 people told me that a charity listing now means the hauler moves the animal for free. so i reposted as noncharity.
we dont have the adoption finalized yet. so i dont know if she will be going yet, or when.... (10/30/2009)

Response: I regret that you have had so many problems regarding the charity status of this transport. The transporter does receive the amount they have bid. It is Uship that has generously forfeited their fees associated with charity transports. I believe this is a remarkable thing in today's environment where the volume of business for everyone has decreased. Best of luck with your transport. I hope that all goes well for you with this adoption. SSGray (10/30/2009)
