Questions for this shipment:
Question:
I live an hour from Vegas (3/14/2007)
Response:
Did you have a question? (3/15/2007)
Question:
Do you need this shipped thay exact day ? (3/15/2007)
Response:
Yes, we will be in Las Vegas on March 24 to do a little work on the boat trailer and get everything ready for transport; then we want to follow in our vehicle when it's transported back to Fresno. Thanks... (3/15/2007)
Question:
Few questions. Is the height listed with the boat on the trailer? Will you provide the oversized load permit (for Width). And if you follow, do you want to be an escort. And finally, what is your target price for this haul? (3/15/2007)
Response:
Hi Ralph, Just checking back to see if Sunday, March 25 will work for you...The other bidders didn't seem to understand the wide load issue so we'd really like to have you do the job if that date will work. (the other alternative would be to leave on Saturday, as soon as we get the trailer ready for transport, if that would work better for you). We will get the permits as soon as we confirm the dates that would work. Thanks... (3/17/2007)
Question:
I am looking at your date, and that is an issue I hope I can work out. If not, and it is a must, I dont know if I can adjust my loads to accomodate that exact date, but I will try. My profile will help you decide. I would bid around 500. (3/16/2007)
Response:
The date is firm since we'll be in Las Vegas on Saturday 3/24 to get the boat ready for transport, then we want to follow it back. Your bid is in the ball park...let us know if that will work. Thanks! (3/16/2007)
Question:
I will see what I can do here. (3/16/2007)
Question:
Saturday will work better for me. After it is repaired, late afternoon, early evening. Traffic should be better by then too! The permit should be for Sat-Sun just to be safe. I will know soon my schedule for sure, then we can go to the next step. (3/17/2007)
Response:
Hi Ralph, just checking back to see if your schedule might work out for Saturday. We have our permits now for both Nevada and California. Thanks! (3/20/2007)
Question:
I am not sure what to do here. The load I was taking down, has flaked out on me! I cant afford to drive all that way without a load. Especially since diesel has gone through the roof. So I dont know how to proceed fro here. I have been trying all day yesterday and today, and this evening, to find something. But I cant get people to respond to their adds. I will keep trying, but I cant commit till I have enough work to make it worth coming down. Wish me luck! I will let you know if I can be there Sat. (3/20/2007)
Response:
Thanks, Ralph...appreciate your quick response! We'll hope for the best! (3/20/2007)
Question:
Well I think have have a couple good options, and should be able to pull this off. But my concern now is that the price of deisel just went through the roof! So, what are you able to budget out for this. Just need to make sure we are on the same page. Thanks again! (3/21/2007)
Response:
Hi Ralph, good to hear from you! We had bids of $450 and $489 and I know you mentioned about $500. With the increase in fuel, would $525 cover your added expense? We have the CA wide load permit and completed all the paperwork for the NV permit; we just need a vehicle license # for that one. Let us know if that will work for you...thanks! --Barbara (3/21/2007)
Question:
Well that will help some. Let see what the next couple days holds out for. I need two more committments, then I will know for sure what to expect. You will need to cover the Uship fee, and hopefully fuel wont get any worse. I'll be in touch! (3/21/2007)
Response:
We'll need to make a decision by tomorrow morning because we need to get the NV permit. Also...maybe I didn't understand the UShip policy, but I thought it said that the hauler pays the UShip fee. If this doesn't work out, we have a friend's truck that we can borrow. We hauled a 29 foot back from Florida a few years ago but we sold our motorhome and our Land Cruiser doesn't quite have the power for this load! If you decide to bid please include all costs. Thanks, Ralph... (3/21/2007)
Question:
Yikes! I hope I can do this that early. If you could give me till later on tommorow, I will submit the complete bid including Uship fees. We still have Fri. to get the permit with my plate info. Or I will at least get you that data which can be easily changed if it dont work out. I will chat in the AM. Need some sleep. (3/21/2007)
Question:
Ok, here is where I am at. One of the two loads went down. So the only way I can help you out is if I have my trailer down there to bring other loads back. If you could haul my empty trailer behind your rig, while I haul your boat, then I can find other loads down there after your haul. If you have any items you wanted to load inside my trailer, that would be a plus for you. Let me know your thoughts, and we will solidify this arrangement. Thanks! (3/22/2007)
Response:
No problem at all...we have a trailer hitch and haul our other boat all the time! (3/22/2007)
Question:
Alright, that will work. My license plate is 551 UDZ Ut plate 2001 Chevy Silverado 3500. That should give you what you need for the permit. I have to run to get my truck aligned. I will chat back in a while. Thanks again! (3/22/2007)
Question:
Is it going to work out if we do this on Sun instead? If you're good with that, I will submit the bid with the fee. Then we can talk on the phone about the details. Let me know asap. Thanks! (3/22/2007)
Response:
Sunday is best for us...also, Gary just wanted me to check to see how much your trailer weighs....I figured that an empty trailer couldn't weigh too much! Thanks, Ralph... --Barbara (3/22/2007)
Question:
Its a 24' enclosed and if I remember right, its around 2000lbs. Let me do some research and get right back with you. Did you get the permit handled? (3/22/2007)
Response:
2000 lbs is no problem...I think our max on the Land Cruiser is 5500. I was in meetings this afternoon so didn't get your license in time to call it in. We have the CA permit and everything is all set for the NV (route and all)--we can call in in the morning. (3/22/2007)
Question:
Its a 24' enclosed and if I remember right, its around 2000lbs. Let me do some research and get right back with you. Did you get the permit handled? (3/22/2007)
Question:
Whoops, sorry about the dup. It actually weighs 3240, and it pulls very nicely. Has electric brakes, so it needs a 7 prong receptacle. (3/22/2007)
Response:
Gary says the weight is okay but our Land Cruiser is not set up for electric brakes...so do you think that will work???? (3/22/2007)
Question:
Yes it will still work. So you have the 6 prong or the 4 way? (3/22/2007)
Response:
It is a 7-prong (3 on top, 3 on bottom, and one in the center) but we don't have the electric brake control unit. So what about brakes? Our other boat has surge brakes. (3/22/2007)
Question:
We are in good shape then. The seven prong center will activate the brakes when you touch the pedal. The controller on the inside is there to allow you to adjust it while you drive. I will preset it on my rig. You know what, I am tired of typing! I will submit the bid, you accept it, and I will call you on a land line. Then we can give our fingers and eyes a rest!! (3/22/2007)
Response:
Sounds good...thanks, Ralph! (3/22/2007)
Question:
Did you have another question? I am an hour ahead of you, and need to make up for some lost sleep. If you want to talk tonight, I will stay up till 10:30 MST if not we can talk tommorow after I get the kids to school around 8:30. Either way, Have a Good Night! (3/22/2007)
Response:
Sorry it's taking so long...we had company, then I was trying to accept the bid and when I click on pay by credit card, there's no place for me to enter my information. Also, Gary was trying to check to make sure that the brakes on your trailer will work with our vehicle. Let me try to accept one more time. Thanks... (3/22/2007)
Question:
Ok, if it doesnt work this time, I will walk you through it. I haul this trailer with my Expedition, with no inside brake controller, and it works great. Yours should have the same type of SUV set up. (3/22/2007)
