Response: Wendell cost would be $3000. This is for delivery into Edmonton @ $1.50 mile plus small mileage charge for distance from Edmonton to border. Also included is the border fee that the US charges me to come back into the US. You will still have the cost of the broker plus GST tax and RIV inspection fee cost. Question: Shipper, I am not bidding, just informing. You need to check into Canada's recent law dealing with trailers over 14,000 GVWR (that is used for hauling). I hauled one up there recently, took 3 days to get cleared. Between the shipper(maufacturer), the Broker, and customs, no one seemed to get on the same page. VERY Frustrating & Costly!!! TRUST ME... the broker won't help on EVERYTHING! ALSO... I understand that it may seem costly having these service providers bid so high, but your asking them to go to Canada for basically $1/mile. Montana is at $3.50/gal, Canada close to $4.00. ALSO... ARE YOU FAMILIAR WITH USHIP'S DEPOSIT AMOUNT? Unfortunately, no one can discuss numbers here. YOU need to look into uShip's rules reguarding the deposit amount that the driver WILL NOT receive. If numbers are mentioned, the SP gets suspended. You need to figure out how much uShip's fee will be, and then realize why they have to bid so high. DON'T FORGET ABOUT THE "PARS" CODE (2/10/2008)
Question: Sounds like some things have changed with your trailer. What is the weight and does it still have the chipper in it. I would be interested in hauling this for you. Let me know if you want it hauled just to the border, which might be the easiest way. If so what crossing do you want to use. If you want it hauled to Edmonton then you would have to pay the extra costs and the paper work would have to be cleared ahead of time. What dates do you need it hauled.
