Question: Howdy, I just delivered a 91 Grumman step van to Oakland, CA from Palm Beach, FL and my top speed was 53 MPH and that was going down hill. It took all I had to get it there. Will explain all details if needed. I speciallize in driving slower oversized vehicles. I can do this for you at your target price of $500. May i ask if the August 19-22 date the shipment date or is this a delivered by date? How soon can this be picked up? I can do now or then but need to plan trip either way. Please read my profile and let me know if i can help. Thank you for your consideration-DRIVER4U (5/14/2007)

Response: The pick-up and drop off days for our truck are still being finalized (and will be solidified in the next couple of days). I'll be sure to contact you as soon as possible. Ultimately, the truck needs to be in LA by August 20th but we are in negotiations about maybe getting it out here sooner.
In the meantime, could you give me your schedule for July and August? It will help inform our decision making process. Thanks! (6/26/2007)

Response: Howdy, Thank you for the reply. I thought you left us. Im open anytime as of now for August. As i explained before about just finishing driving a step van from Florida, Well im picking up a larger one this weekend and delivering to the same client in the East Bay(Oakland). I would love to pick up at that time and would do so for $300 all inclusive. I will be back by the 10th of July and as of now im available for the rest of the month. This can and will change within days. If you would like to plan for a pick up on a date of your choice in advance that would help me to plan and make the trip cheaper for both of us. You can change the pick up time to anytime im available. So as of now i can pick up between 6/27 to 6/30 for $400 0r $300-$350 for a future date which would be within 2 weeks from the time its available to me. If this will work for you please reply asap. Web access will be limited when im on the road. Thanks-Michael (6/26/2007)

Response: Hi Michael, as of now, we're looking to have the truck picked up on August 10th in Saratoga and then delivered to Los Angeles as soon as possible. Are you able to project how long the trip would be? This Aug. 10th date is potentially subject to change but I will keep you posted. Thanks, Zoë (6/27/2007)

Response: Hi Zoe, Pick up date is fine. Changing the date is no problem just need at least a 5 day worning before i can pick up. At this low speed delivery will be about 8 hours after pick up time. Would you like me to place a bid now? Thanks, Michael (6/27/2007)

Response: Great Michael! Yes, I'd appreciate it if you could place a bid at your earliest convenience and we'll proceed from there. I'll make sure to give you at least a 5 day warning if the pick-up date changes. Best, Zoë (6/27/2007)

Response: VERY sorry for the delayed reply. You will have a bid from me by noonish tomarrow. Looking forword to talking on phone, much easier. Thanks again-Michael (6/28/2007)

Response: Hi Michael, before i accept your bid, i wanted to convey a couple of important details. Would you be available to meet with our contact in Saratoga on Aug. 8th or Aug. 9th, to assess the truck and its situation? Supposedly the surrounding area is hilly). You should know that this truck, while it functions as a truck, is also a traveling, interactive art project and therefore, it demands some extra attention and careful maneuvering - that is why a site-visit is important. The pick-up still remains August 10th. Let me know if this changes anything. Apologies for this late notice, my superiors insist on a preliminary consultation before the truck begins its journey. I hope this is possible. Happy 4th of July Michael! Zoë (7/3/2007)

Response: Hi Zoe, I have no problem arriving a day early(8/9/07) for a site visit to assess the van and its situation. Now that i know what im dealing with i would insist on this myself. The only problem is the overnite lodging so the vehicle can be pick up the next day. The extra attention and careful maneuvering is a must with every vehicle i drive. Sorry but my bid is at the lowest possible amount as it is. So if you can have the cost of 1 nite lodging reimbursed to me in cash along with the remaining bid amount at the time of delivery we are still a go. Any thoughts? Comments? And also, A very happy 4th to you. Thanks-Michael (7/3/2007)

Response: Hi Michael, I'm a little confused because I've just received word that you cancelled your bid? I was ready to accept you as soon as you gave me the details on how much 1-night of lodging would cost. I can only accept if I know the final, overall cost. It's protocol for where I work. 350+1-night of lodging and as soon as i find out, we'll be finally ready to accept.
We're ready to do business with you after we hear back from you.
Hope you are well,
Zoë (7/9/2007)

Response: Hi, this is Michael's fiancee. I think the cancelation was an accident. I will be speaking with him later tonight and he will most likely place another bid. I know he is very intrested in working with you. Thank you (7/9/2007)

Response: Hi Michael, when will you be able to bid this week? I know you must be busy but i'm looking to accept as soon as possible! Hope you are well. Zoë (7/16/2007)

Response: Hi Zoe, sorry for the delay. I have been very, very busy. I will rebid within the next 24 hours. Thanks-Michael (7/17/2007)

Response: Hi Michael, I just want to check in and confirm that you will bid as soon as possible. When can that be? I realize that you are on the road, but we either need to confirm partnering with you or find someone else soon. Hope you are well! Zoë (7/20/2007)

Response: Hi Zoe, I'm very sorry to delay you. My bid will be in by the end of this weekend. Thank you-Michael (7/21/2007)

Response: Hi Michael, No worries and thank you for rebidding. Unfortunately, I won't be able to accept your bid until around 6pm on Friday but at that time, we'll be in business! If anything comes up, please let me know. Will finally speak with you on Friday! Best, Zoë (7/23/2007)

Response: Hi, Zoe! I'm not sure on the lodging cost in Pasa Robles and Templeton, but the last time I stayed in San Luis Obispo it was $72 a night. Therefore I will bid $400 all inclusive and tht will be $50 for the extra night lodging and I will cover anything over that $50. I am on the road and have wery limited web axcess. I will rebid within the next two days. Thanks-Michael (7/10/2007)

Response: That sounds perfect Michael! We can swing that. I got worried for a second but I'm glad we'll still be working together. Look forward to your rebid. Zoë (7/10/2007)
