Questions for this shipment:

Question: Can this be transported on an open drop deck trailer? Thanks (11/5/2007)
Response: on an uncovered trailer? Yes, absolutely - it is being installed outdoors, permanently, so it is made to withstand the elements - it just wont withstand any scratching! (11/5/2007)
Question: Are you requiring a "air ride trailer" for this sculpture? If not YOU DEFINITELY SHOULD... We've transported a few sculptures in the past and you should only choose air ride. Spring trailers will beat it to death even if padded. Regards (11/5/2007)
Response: No - i had not thought of requiring air ride. The sculpture is really substantial and heavy. Usually substantial ties and padding work well. Do you offer an air ride truck for a sculpture this size? (11/5/2007)
Response: We can do it either way really. Preferably I would like to see it on a enclosed air ride trailer, pad wrapped, and of course strapped securely. Are you sure this thing only weighs 600 lbs? It can be transported on a open drop trailer as well... I'm trying to think what will be your best option... You could have it laying on a couple of successive pallets or place it on a pallet that is made for the transport of a 75-100kw generator. They are sturdy and would greatly assist in moving this monster. :) I'll move it however you want to move it, I'm just stating that a spring ride trailer will be more bumpy and might create friction between the straps, pads, and the sculpture. I just want it to arrive alive you know? We specialize in transporting high value & highly fragile items. At any rate let me know what you wan tto do and I will try and quote you accordingly. Regards (11/5/2007)
Response: I hear you. Of course no matter what we need it to arrive pristine. Based on your experience, why don't you quote me accordingly (as you would reccomend). I am not sure that the weight is 600 exactly but i will ask my husband - the sculptor - to get his estimate of the weight and i will hit you back with that. thanks a lot. (11/5/2007)
Response: 2400 would be van (if it fits) waitig on exact dimensions. And 2500 woudl be open drop deck. Just clarifying. regards (11/5/2007)
Question: What is the total value of this shipment? Thanks, Iannick (11/5/2007)
Response: 20,000 US$ (11/5/2007)
Response: Again I have a driver 40 miles from your location, that can pu today and will deliver by Friday early AM. Please give me the opportunity to ship this and I'll take off some more from my low bid this morning. (11/6/2007)
Response: man i appreciate that so much but the sculpture isn't done yet and i think that friday is the earliest it will be done (maybe thursday but we are already pushing it to have it ready to go friday). the fabrication is just being finished and it still has to be powder coated....hit me back if you have any way to pu friday. (11/6/2007)
Response: Don't forget I just priced it out again and Friday pu is fine (11/6/2007)
Response: absolutely and i should be able to accept your bid later today - i have a few things to hammer out with the college first. this is a big public installation and dealing with trinity college is not without it's frustrations! Thanks so much and be looking for me to accept shortly..... (11/6/2007)
Question: I guess, I can say that if you shipment is not more than 33000$ you will be fully covered up to that amount, with no more than a 500$ deductable if there were to be a total loss. (11/5/2007)
Question: When are you looking to have this shipped? Thanks Terry. (11/5/2007)
Response: we are supposed to have it installed in hartford by the 19th but it is still being finished and we are looking at week's end before it is complete and ready to go...it is definitely a time crunch. (11/6/2007)
Response: When is the earliest that this could be p/u and could this be wrapped to protect it from any damages? Thanks Terry. (11/6/2007)
Response: earliest is friday and yes it will be wrapped well and straps have to be padded to avoid friction rubbing on the powder coat (11/6/2007)
Response: What is its value? Ins. purposes. Thanks Terry. (11/6/2007)
Response: $20,000 (11/6/2007)
Response: If your fork won't lift the sculpture, how would you propose is the best way for the piece to be lifted onto the trailer? Thanks, Terry (11/6/2007)
Question: we can get the property Sat. and take care of shipping to you by Wed (11/6/2007)
Question: I just saw the freight will not be ready until Friday. I have same driver that will be making some runs in the local area and is wanting to get back to the East coast and is willing to pu on Friday. thanks again, Iannick (11/6/2007)
Response: okay - do you have any way to get it on the trailer because our fork is not strong enough???? i think it weighs between 800 and 1200 pounds (11/6/2007)
