Question: Hello shipper, can this be taken in 2 trucks?? How is everything packed?? Please give a little better description of what is being moved. Thanks, Ron Hall (6/7/2008)

Response: things are in medium, large, and wardrobe boxes...furniture is not packed. If both trucks are dropping within 1 week of each other should be no problem (6/8/2008)

Response: Hello shipper, will YOU be hiring help to load AND un-load trucks, or is that to be the transporters expense?? Also, how many people, will help load and un-load. I know most people think 8k is alot to move someone, but looking at a 1-way truck rental, the fuel for that truck and the fuel for my vehicle pulling a 24' enclosed trailer comes to just over 8k Thats not including my drive time or labor to load and un-load. How flexible is your price??
I can do the job for closer to 9k 500. If this is something you may entertain, please let me know and I will work up a formal bid with exact numbers. Thanks, Ron Hall (6/8/2008)

I can do the job for closer to 9500. If this is something you may entertain, please let me know and I will work up a formal bid with exact numbers. Thanks, Ron Hall (6/8/2008)

Response: Give me bottom line with load and unload...pads included...trailer driver etc. Spell out what you can do...thanks, Richard (6/9/2008)

Response: Hello shipper, looks like I would be closer to 9500 for this shipment. If thats something you may entertain, please let me know and I can break it down for you. Thanks, Ron Hall (6/8/2008)

Response: Ron you have been very honest....is it possible to go the route for 9k....do you want to look at shipment first...you can come out by car if you have the time? (6/8/2008)

Response: Well to be honest, I couldn't afford to come out that way just to look at the shipment, I would go from your word and trust you. Let me punch up some numbers that are more exact and get back to you later this evening if that would be acceptable, but I think I can do this for very close to your last number. I am awaiting an insurance settlement any day now, my truck was stolen a few weeks ago and insurance is supposed to settle this Thursday. I have to deliver a boat to the Montana/Canada border, leaving tommorow, then go to Arizona to pick up a motorcycle trailer I won a bid on a few months ago, then back to Missouri to settle up insurance, and purchase a new truck. I would hope to be on the road again by Tuesday or Wednesday. I just bought the enclosed trailer, haven't even towed it yet. Please let me get back to you this evening with a formal bid. Thanks for the response, Ron Hall (6/8/2008)

Response: You are welcome...when you bid you must be pretty accurate on the pickup...House is closing escrow and I cannot be waiting for your truck to be ready...I am an honest shipper...just need job done on time...I will wait to hear from you. (6/8/2008)

Response: I appreciate that, I wouldn't hold up your shipment, if my truck wasn't settled yet I would more than likely rent 2 u-hauls from your pick-up location. I have a home in Bradenton Florida that I can end my trip at. OK Let me see how these numbers look and I'll get back to you asap, I will even look at renting 2 u-hauls and see whats the best price I can give you. (6/8/2008)

Response: Better to rent two Penske trucks...they are deisel...but only hold 1400 cu feet each...might not be big enough (6/8/2008)

Response: Can you give me a zip code for pick up location? (6/8/2008)

Response: it is on line...91356 (6/8/2008)

Response: Hello shipper, after penciling the hell outta everything I can possibly pencil, this is what I can do..... I can stay with the original quote of 9500, you said 9k so I'll split it with you and go 9250. For that amount I will take care of all equiptment, fuel, and also HELP you load and unload.
SECOND OPTION: The cost with no mark-up by me to rent 2 24' u-hauls is 3447.00 EACH plus fuel to Florida. U-haul states that their trucks get 400 miles to an 80 gallon tank, round your trip to 2800 miles @ average 4.85 per gallon. 2,716 EACH TRUCK = $5432.00+truck rental $5894.00 TOTAL $11,326 Thats NOT counting my drive time or labor. These are honest stats, and to tell you the truth, it's a bit risky for me to do this for 9250, but I am a man of my word and if you'd like me to put in a formal bid I will do so. I'll look for a response from you in the morning before I leave for Montana, wish I had some contact info for you, I think we could make this advantageous for both of us. Ron Hall (6/8/2008)

Response: We need a semi trailer ...two u-hauls wont cut it (6/9/2008)

Response: Sorry, I wouldn't be able to accomodate if you need a semi-truck. I do not have access to such equiptment. Thank you for the oppurtunity to give you an honest estimate, if you have any vehicles, or anything else I can accomodate you with please feel free to contact me. We also transport boats, motorcycles, trucks, R.V's. Thanks again, Ron Hall (6/9/2008)

Response: thanks anyway, richard (6/9/2008)

Question: I have a 53 foot dryvan in Barstow,CA. Can a 53 ft trailer be brought to where the stuff is? where it will be dropped?Thanks,Mike-HIGHDESERT (6/7/2008)

Response: no problem it is at a residence access is not a problem on both ends...single family dwellings at both ends...need to hire a couple of local workers to help load... also no problem (6/8/2008)

Response: Hello, a total bid from me for $8,000 would get you a 53 foot semi trailer dry van delivered to your pick up point in Tarzana and left for up to 48 hours, delivery would be the same the trailer would be dropped off for up to 48 hours. You would do or have someone do the loading and unloading. Your property would not be covered for damage or loss caused by load shifting or bumping around down the highway. It would be covered for up to $100,000 if truck/trailer is involved in an accident or if property is stolen (don't see how that could happen), but as that is you're probably better off going with one of the bids already made or I'm sure more will be made as from what I understand reading their bids it appears they are doing the loading and unloading. One of the bidders profile says they have a 24 foot truck and for bigger jobs they lease more equipment so unless they're planning on your shipment fitting in their primary truck I don't see they can bid so low,I tip my hat to them though (6/8/2008)

Response: If the weight is over 12,500 do I pay more and will their be other items on dryvan...do I get the whole 53 feet of truck? (6/8/2008)

Response: No you would not pay more for more weight, and for that price you would get the entire trailer. If your stuff only filled up let's say 35 feet of trailer then I could try to get another partial load going that way to possibly reduce your price. Thankyou, Mike-HIGHDESERT (I'll be away from the computer for about an hour) Thanks (6/8/2008)

Response: So to understand...You will drop a trailer off... I fill it and you drop in FLA...you have pads...8K on delivery in FLA. Right (6/8/2008)

Response: I do not have pads, will have 4 foot wide ramp, 25 % deposit required at booking,35% due at pick up, balance due at delivery.Thankyou (6/8/2008)

Response: Why so much up front...you are carrying my stuff valued way above the job. I never paid a mover so much before....what is your final numbers thanks, Richard (6/9/2008)

Response: It's fairly common practice for this sight. Shippers accept a bid then change their mind, I like to know when I book a load that it is indeed booked! And then the additional 35% at pick up goes toward fuel etc., I can book a load on a trucking brokerage sight and get a 40% fuel advance when I pick up load and never get cancellations, and for a mileage rate about equal to the one I'm offering to you, but without having to go drop my trailer off for up to 48 hours at either end. My friend you are getting very good prices from just about everybody on this listing as loads to FL always pay much more as there's very limited dry freight coming out of there. My policy needs no apology, I do what I say I will do when I say I will do it. Thankyou (6/9/2008)

Response: Mr Hall ...have you ever bought a mercedes benz in a dealership in calabasas or encino. You sound in writing like someone I new a while back. He ran dryvans and had a friend living in the valley agoura area. I think I might know you....I will not change my mind if we make a deal I am moving to a new house in West Palm...So your price is to drop off trailer...I load it...do you have packers included in this to help or am I completely on my own at both ends. (6/9/2008)

Response: My name is not Hall, and to the best of my knowledge I do not know the person you speak of. I have never bought or owned a Mercedes Benz. Yes ,correct you are on your own at both ends. As far as I can see so far is the following: By your own statement you have a local,I assume "full service " mover that gave you a price of $10K, you have feedback rated service providers on this site giving you a price of $9K full service, and you have me giving you a price of $8K self service, now you have a concern about the payment policy of the latter 2, so you must make a command decision as to which way you want to proceed, honestly if it were me moving and I didn't own my own truck I would choose the $9K full service which I assume includes insurance coverage for damage due to improper packing, which I cannot provide as I am not the one doing the packing. I wish you luck and smooth sailing whichever you choose. Thankyou,Mike-HIGHDESERT (6/9/2008)

Response: Self packing is never covered except for .60 cents per lb. That means a 50lb tv would bring you $30.00. So that is not my meaning or purpose. I am trying to get from point A to point B with a fair price that I find agreeable and the trucker finds reasonable. If someone has a truck with space for about 12.5 to 16 thousand lbs. going east to FLA then I would like to fill that space for a fair and reasonable price. Not looking for anything but to make a deal with someone. I am on disability and a veteran who needs to get from point A to point B. I will pay whoever without hassle for that job if we agree to terms...Thanks, Richard (6/9/2008)

Response: Thanks for serving our country,I am a veteran as well. I don't think the weight is much of an issue (for a tractor trailer at least), but you estimate about 3500 cu ft and that takes up quite a bit of even a 53' trailer (my trailer holds 4035 cu ft). Maybe you will find someone with another partial going that way and maybe they will agree with your payment desires. There are alot of service providers on this sight (I believe we outnumber the shippers)so give it a chance. Thanks again,Mike-HIGHDESERT (6/9/2008)

Response: You lost me Mike...you can only provide the trailer for your price...no workers? I could fill the trailer since I might not know how to pack as good as professionals. Explain the whole picture slowly 1 more time please? Thanks (6/10/2008)

Response: Thanks but I'm not interested in this shipment any longer as it's getting pretty thick ,I see Mark with "on the move for you" has put a listing on uship looking for a trailer to take your stuff and as far as I can see your listing is still active and you haven't accepted a bid. GOOD LUCK TO ALL! oh by the way his target price is $5,000 for a trailer for your stuff. (6/14/2008)

Response: I cannot control your thoughts...People have the right to do what they want...good luck to you. I am going to WPB and someone hopefully will be ready to carry my shipment. I cannot control competition...you made your choice...thanks, Richard (6/15/2008)

Question: BTW Sir, I am not a moving co., however I do carry a 1 million dollar ins. policy for all my cargo, and because I am not a moving co. I will treat your belongings like they are my own and not let them be thrown around all across the U.S. Thanks again, Ron Hall (6/8/2008)

Response: I do not understand BTW SIR....I never questioned your driving skills...I just want to be as accurate on the weight as we can...I can load it...need to know how you want it packed. (6/8/2008)

Response: BTW Means by the way, I didn't think you were questioning my skills, I just wanted you to know I would take care of your belongings very well, and that I am insured. Am I understanding right, you will have the trucks loaded and un-loaded, I don't have to do anything but drive? If thats the case, we will do it for your 9k and I will place a formal bid now. I can pick-up on 6-22-08
Thanks, Ron Hall (6/8/2008)

Response: We would need some help with loadin furniture and do you have pads (6/8/2008)

Response: Yes sir I do have pads. What is the city where pick up is located, where you live now?? (6/8/2008)

Question: I'm in the Az gettig back to CA and laptop signal is in and out but will check back with you...
Mark (6/8/2008)

Response: OK (6/8/2008)

Response: Reading your load info from other bid and looks like specialty outdoor items and weight will bring it to 9k...book me and we'll add the $1,000 after we weigh it...
Mark (6/8/2008)

Response: Please break down what you are doing...you are coming with crew ....load & unload 91356 to 33412...All in is 9K...Right??? (6/8/2008)

Response: I'll bring in trailer, load after wrapping with 3 man crew and gear,
sip to Florida and unload and set up beds etc...You pack the boxes and we do the rest...$1,000 down on agreement $5000 at load, balance at unload...I'll throw in cratng the lions if they need it when I see them...
Mark (6/8/2008)

Response: This sounds great...you are offering $1000 deposit and $5000 at delivery unload....total =$6000
That sounds like a deal you load , unload, and crate the lions if needed correct? thanks, Richard....You have an semi trailor 53 feet correct (6/9/2008)

Response: No it's $9000 totoal with $1000 down on booking,I come out and survey and on load it's $5,000 with $3000 balance at unload...
Mark (6/9/2008)

Response: why would I pay $6000 up front on a move where you are carrying about $100,000 worth of my things. I have moved and only paid 20% deposit and balance on delivery....$9000 is best price and it is a guarentee price no changes on delivery? (6/9/2008)

Response: It's 3000 miles and usually 1/2 down but with discount I was asking To pay more as I perform the move....$1000 down and $4000 on load day then with balance at unload....Why not?
Mark (6/9/2008)

Response: please go over the whole deal...you have a semi with crew that will load...unload...pad entire shipment in 91356 and deliver to 33412 for 9K guaranteed price. You will crate lions if needed. Whole shipment on one truck...same driver who picks up also will deliver. What days are ok for departure and what days ok for arrival...thanks, richard (6/9/2008)

Response: We are going over the same thing again but here we go.....I'll have a 2-28' trailers or 53' trailer scheduled by professional and insured/bonded service and wrap and load with crew, crate lions if needed, driver is professionally cleared by major company and does this all the time...they drive,,we unload in florida at your listed zipcode and set up your things like beds, place items where you like etc....I'd like to start the 18th but will coordinate with you when you confirn and we talk...up to the 23rd......Unload after drive will be about 5-10 days so if the 28th is our last delivery target then we should load the 18th-19th and get done earlier than after the target delivery
I will oversee it all and be resposible for your move details...
Mark (6/9/2008)

Response: two 28 ft trailers is twice the fuel and 2 drivers...or do you mean 2 28ft tandem trailers on 1 motor pull. Either way it is 10 days from point a to point b correct. You coordinate everything for 9k..can I buy insurance on umove.com if it is 2 trailers?? (6/10/2008)

Response: Yes 2 tandem and 1 truck or 1 53' depending on what I see when I survey your move and yes you can buy uship insurance for load....Yes to $9000 total...
Mark (6/10/2008)

Response: When do you want to come by and see the load? (6/10/2008)

Response: Tommorow or Saturday depending when you book....
Mark (6/10/2008)

Question: Perhaps I'll need to give you a move play by play for your question previously.
1.You accept the bid
2.I'll do a survey and bring supplies
3.I'll schedule the 2 men and myself for wrapping in paper pads and coreflex cardboard, moving pads as needed also, take apart beds etc...
4. crate lions if needed
5.load trailer
6.ship to florida
7. unload and set up
I'm pretty busy but would like to schedule this with you...
You could sell the heavy lions and concrete to offset cost and drop weight and keep your furniture...
This would acomplish your move...
Mark (6/8/2008)

Response: Who buys Lions? (6/9/2008)

Response: Put on ebay or craigslist and call local dealer that sells landscaping art...
Mark (6/9/2008)

Response: I want them in my new circular driveway. They will make a great entrance for people to spot the house. I think I want to keep them (6/9/2008)

Response: Lets book this then...
I'm busy tomorrow now but can com look Wednesday....
Mark
(6/9/2008)

Response: I think we can book this at the same time you examine load. Trying to avoid mistakes...Advise? (6/10/2008)

Response: No...you book then I come out...this is enough coorespondence and please stop trying to bypass uship....lt's do this or not...
Mark (6/10/2008)

Response: why would I bypass u ship....I do not want problems...why book if you come out and feel the load is more or less. I will only book thru USHIP...All I ask is for us to be on the same page. If you do not want to look at the shipment before you commit to 9k then ounce I bool it you are taking it for the 9k as stated. I only wanted you to look to be sure. I am only shipping one load you have the experience for many....just trying to be safe...Advise? (6/10/2008)

Response: I said $8000 for 10000 lbs and you added 6000 to go to 15000lbs for only $1000 more....try that with a national carrier and you'd be at $13,000-$15,000 so I don't think it's unfair for me to say $9000 that has been said for many e-mails and no booking yet...put yourself in my shoes and look at all your coorespondence in your listing....
The profit margin for the situation is not tha high so Iwas trying to get you to commit so I can schedule all the things to be done....and retyping the same thing over and over concerns me about you FYI but I'll give it to you as overly cautious...
Mark (6/10/2008)

Response: You are cancelling your bid is that correct...you no longer want the load? I am confused. In your ew-mail you say you understand that I am being cautious...you gave me until 06-12...now you cancel is that correct? (6/10/2008)

Response: I asked you to book it and you didn't and I've repeated myself up to 7 times on the same questions so I was moving on to focus on other loads as your aproaching your load date with no resolve to close the deal as of today as I see it...my time is valuable also....I try to help people though and enjoy what I do...this is becoming very difficult to please you even to simply book the best deal from a confirmed professional and nice guy....
Mark (6/10/2008)

Response: I will get this done very shortly...Sorry I am not doing this every day like you...I am moving my whol life 2710 miles...Sorry for any misunderstanding...I cannot book unless you re-open your bid?

Response: Are you in or out...respectfully...? (6/11/2008)

Response: Richard you still sound like a nice guy....I'll be going to the Bay area after I load a shipment going to North Carolina on one of my drivers trucks friday so if I re-bid and you accept I can come by Saturday and do my survey then I'll load you befor the 23rd as requested.....
I'm here locally in Tustin , Ca so I can do that but you asked me to come by then book and your looking at other bidders that wont be able to so I'll need your confirmation your ready to book with me then I'll re-bid....I hope this works out for us and we'll help you change your life to Florida....
Mark (6/11/2008)

Response: i should be ready...waiting for buyers loan docs and closing date to be exact. do not want to finalize till home buyers exact closing date is given by bank...get back to you for final bid within 48 hours...thanks, richard (6/12/2008)

Response: Do me a favor and list all your inventory that's going...I saw some in other bid and have 2 - 28' tandem's on stand by from old coorespondence and still have time to come by and see if 53' or 2 tandems will work....I'll lock this in and float aroung closing dates after I get your inventory I'll submit my re-bid...Then you accept.I'll be in Reseda on Saturday but can look after I go to the Bay area and back if needed...
Mark (6/12/2008)

I know it is only 9pm on the west coast so if your still up and have any questions for me I'll be checking my messages for about another hour. Thanks again ~ Mike (6/10/2008)

Question: Hey Richard I'm wondering if you are still needing this done I plan to leave Maryland on Tuesday with 4 stops in LA. Response: You sound great...we will work this out...I need closing date from bank and I will get exact load ready for analysis re: furniture and box count...Please bear with me, Thanks, Richard (6/13/2008)

Response: No problem Richard, I really don't need a box count or anything. I'm giving you as much space as you need, all of it if nessicery. As long as we don't go over 80,000 GVW we'll pack this tight. I just need to know, because as you can see it takes time to put together a load on here and I haven't tried to book any others, because if you do need all of the trailer, I don't want other shipments on here taking up your space. Just let me know as soon as you can. I don't like getting out to California and then start looking for something coming back, That would take to long. Thanks again~ Mike (6/13/2008)

Response: ok...I will let you know when underwriter at bank signs off on the sale of my house...be well, be safe...Richard (6/13/2008)

Response: Just re bid do you think you will know something by today ? thanks ~ Mike (6/18/2008)

Response: yes by 2pm pst...i sent you a list too (6/18/2008)

Response: Hi Richard it seems as though you are undecided here on whom you may want to use and I have no problem with that. I thought you were looking to use our services that's why I have been waiting and not booking other jobs. Now I'm seeing that you are still shopping around. Let me know asap please. Thanks ~Mike (6/18/2008)

Question: Hello, are you still looking to have this moved? If so, we can have a semi-tractor with a 45'x93" trailer haul this shipment for you. The trailer would be completely dedicated to your shipment. We will load on Thursday, the 19th, and unload 3-4 days later. The total price for us to make this shipment will be $8000. We will provide any straps, padding, and blankets. Please let me know if you are interested. (6/14/2008)

Response: How many cubic feet is the 45' trailor? (6/14/2008)

Response: I am not sure of the exact cubic feet of the trailer. the measurements are 45'Lx93"Wx9'H. We can easily move a 6 bedroom house in this trailer, it will easily be enough room for what you have. We will have a truck coming back from CA between 6/26- 6/30. If you can fit your move into this time period, we can make this shipment $7650. (6/15/2008)

Response: I am not sure if I can wait as late as 06-26-08...I think thre house in CA will close on 06-22-08...I like your offer...it is a fair price...Can you move it up ant sooner? (6/15/2008)
