Description: I have 1 full u-box at uhaul in Beaverton Oregon. They want to charge an arm and a leg to move them to Florida. Mainly boxes and a few loose peices of furniture (bookshelves). If you have room I would like them brought to Florida. We're on a budget so no special trips for it as they can stay in storage until a load comes. Need to come to any location in Florida (I'm in Lakeland, FL). I can rent a rental truck and come pick them up from anywhere in Florida. Note that there are about 20 boxes of books in these so there is a little weight to the shipment. Please let me know if you can accomodate this move for me. The dimensions are just a guess.

Response: you probably could, but I no longer live in Oregon and will need a friend of mine to open the uboxes so I there really isn't anyone to secure them to a care for you. Almost everything is already boxed only a few items that are not in boxes and the rest are bookshelves.1/13/2012

are you sure its 10x110x5?? seems too big to be a uhaul crate

Response: You are right, but I wasn't sure. If you are familiar with the uboxes, I have 2. One is about 2/3 full and the other about 1/2 full. There is a lot of empty space in both uboxes. We were in a rush so they are not packed too well, but most of the stuff is in boxes.1/15/2012

Response: I don't have the true dimensions as I'm now in Florida. Everything in there could fit into 1 uhaul ubox if packed correctly and tight. The dimensions of a ubox is 8x5x7'6". 1/16/2012

Can you find out the true dimensions of the boxes so that I can give you a bid? I will be leaving WA on 1/29 towards DC and could come done. I need to know volume. I candeal with things loose and laod from storage. I can have you unload in Fl to keep the cost done.

Response: I unfortunately don't have the true dimensions as I am now in Florida. If someone packed the ubox correctly it all could fit in 1 ubox. The dimensions of a ubox is 8' X 5' X 7'6". 1/16/2012

Response: The hours for the uhaul facility are below. I will need to have someone I know over there meet you at the uboxes to unload them. There wouldn't be any time frame for when it needs to get done. I won't take you very long at all to load them up though. Response: : Uhaul is much more responsive on their hours than other companies who peddle containers and get even by making it dificult for us when the customer does not hire them for the shipping. Will the person you know take care of bringing your things into my truck and boxing small loose items? They can use my handtruck and dollies. It wil lsave me hiring out. Let me know. Response: That shouldn't be a problem. There isn't too much, but some of the stuff is too heavy for one person to handle, like the bookshelves. They need 2 people to help. Are you able to help with stuff like that? If so, just adjust your quote to include a little bit of labor too.1/16/2012

Response: : I am sad that you did not like my bid because I can not bid lower. The new box trucks are getting 6-7 miles per gallon. I gave you a huge break because I kind of like you. Response: I appreciate the bid but it was higher then what uhaul will deliver the crate for so it wasn't saving me any. I understand the fuel costs and the rental truck prices. I would just fly out there myself and drive it back. I was more looking for someone who was already heading this way just loading it onto a truck if they had space. There is no hurry for me to get the stuff so I just put it out there. I've gotten a couple bids around 1400 which is a few hundred lower than uhaul shipping the crates. We'll see what happens. Response: : You can ask Uhaul to take it back to you for about $1800 if you friend packs all into one. for doing it yourself you have to take into account your cost going to OR, your time, fuel cost plus you must have a car in Oregon capable of pulling the weight and then the fuel cost will be over $1500 pluss you will have to pay for the trailer rental or keep paying for storage. Hello, can you have these items crated or secured to a pallet prior to shipping? You can get a pallet for free from most local business, and then use straps or wrap to secure the item down. I see that you are still trying to get your things moved but have until nov. I noticed that you have 15 ft 0 in. W: 10 ft 0 in. H: 8 ft 0 in. and 500lbs. Previously you said that the two container could be comprised into one 8' X 5' X 7'6". Fuel is just going to be going up. If you are listed as 500 lbs a big carrier can give you a bid for thatweight and then go after you for the difference. Please let me know when will you prefer to move and if the goods volume has changed. Thanks.

What kind of budget are you looking at for this shipment?I am Delivering in Salem, Oregon the 2nd of Aug and would like to see if I can piece together a load going that way if possible. There are several individual items going to FL from the area and am hoping to be able to get some of them.

Response: I've had estimates all over the place. The load is less than 1 ubox full of mostly book boxes but there are several loose things also. very little if any furniture. My lowest quote was around $900 but I wasn't in a position to do it at that time. Let me know what you can do if you are able to get other loads coming over at the same time. It doesn't have to be doorstep delivery either. I can drive to places in florida to pick up the stuff if you can get it close. Thank you.7/31/2012

Response: We've already moved but left this behind as it would not fit in out truck. It is a uhaul ubox filled with stuff. I'm not sure the dimensions, but they aren't too big. Most of the bids we got were around 1000-1200. We were hoping to get something around 800 or so. It's a pretty small load so we were just looking to tag on to someone else's load if possible. Are you planning a trip to florida from the Seattle / Portland area anytime soon? THere are no defined dates just sooner rather than later... Thank you!9/19/2012
