Questions for this shipment:

Question: Hi there I will be coming your way on my way back to Dallas in 24hrs or so is this ready to go as I can pick it up and take it back to Tx. Also what is your target price? (9/1/2006)
Response: The plane is 90% complete, so there are some additional parts that will come with the plane. According to the person who was building it, it is ready to ship. You would have to load the plane and parts. For the best description, I could put you in contact with the builder and he could provide details. I'm getting quotes, so would suggestif you're interested to contact the builder and then provide your quote. Thank you for responding. Have you moved aircraft before? Thanks again, Mike (9/1/2006)
Question: Will this roll onto a flatbed? If so may be able to do it around Sept 14 or so. Rate would be $1 per loaded mile. Thanks. GZ TOP. (9/2/2006)
Response: The plane has the gear installed and will roll. Would need to be protected so that there would be no damage from any flying debris as it is transported, but maybe a heavy tarp would suffice. It is currently in a hanger. No docks are available. The plane is 90% complete. This is a kit plane. The wings are removable. There will be a few additional parts to come with the plane, e.g. the radio stack. It might be best to let you talk to the person who has been building the plane and has it in his hanger so you can get a full description. Let me know if you're interested and I can get you his number. Thanks, Mike (9/2/2006)
Question: Yes, I am interested. I have done an old wooden boat before to Texas without too much trouble. I am sure that I could come up with something to cover the part at the front of the trailer. Wrapping with a furniture cover or something may not be the best as they tend to flap quite a bit and may cause paint damage. Does the builder have any ideas? Your plane would be the only item on the trailer. Thanks. GZ TOP. (9/2/2006)
Response: The builder is out of town until Wednesday 9/6/06. I can check with him then to see if he has any ideas. Thanks again, Mike (9/3/2006)
Question: I believe I would be able to assist ...2 question are your measurements 'close' or exact...loading and unloading look to be the real concern. It does roll?...if it can roll a winch would beable to get it on a trailer...Ihave a tarp also. leaving the area...11?thof sept... arrving in Gland14th...does this work? if so...I'm 99cents a mile...What is the declared value so I can get you a quote for the100% 0deductable cargo insur. your consideration is apreciated. Peace, Gm-Cc (9/3/2006)
Response: The specs on the plane show it to be 7' wide, 7.23' in height, and 21.38' in length. I have asked the builder to verify dimensions. He is out of town until Wednesday 9/6/06. The plane is on its gear and does roll. It is in a hanger. No access to a dock so do you have ramp, and would you be able to take care of loading the plane? Wings will have to be loaded also. There's also a box that contains the radio stack. I'll get a complete list. Value is $15K. Dates are good. I'll get back to you as soon as I here back from the builder. Thanks, Mike (9/3/2006)
Question: Not a problem loading as I have two 10ft ramps & a winch to load. Insured ! When do you think your plane will be ready to ship ? I live not to far from Minden. Ron (9/3/2006)
Response: It's ready to ship at any time. Is this on a flat bed? Thanks, Mike (9/3/2006)
Question: 25ft flatbed G/N 2006 F 350 (9/3/2006)
Question: Hi, quality transport here. I have moved many homebuilt aircraft, I am very familiar with the aluminum BD-4 design. With the fuselage complete and on the gear rolling I can load it just fine with no assistance. I have ramps, and a built in winch. Are the ribs mounted to the wing spars yet, or are all other pieces in unassembled. There are sometimes unforeseen items that need attention on that only a professional would see, I am that professional. I have 25+ years experience transporting. I will treat your shipment as if it was mine, and provide fast professional service. Thanks (9/5/2006)
Response: Thanks for the response. The builder is out of town until Wed. 9/6/06, but I should get answers to your questions after that. The wings are complete. Thanks for your interest, and appreciate details on past experience. Is insurance included in your quote? Thanks again, Mike (9/5/2006)
Question: Mike, Quality transport here. The wings being finished, adds to the complexity of the transport. I will stand behind my earlier bid, and include fixtures to hold the wings. With 50 to 60 MPH wind over them they can lift the completed aircraft into the air. The wings need to be placed into a cradle with padding, and strapped down with care . The cradle can be simple, that being said it is a must; even if shipped enclosed the wings are exceedingly fragile when compared to other “normal” cargo. I have worked with and around aircraft all my life, I know the IN’s and out’s of these type of items, they need very special care. My quote does not include any type of insurance except liability. If the plane is already covered by insurance, it should cover it in transit. Check with your agent to be sure. Let me know what you decide, my open “slot” to ship this may fill, thanks. (9/5/2006)
Response: Hi, talked to the builder and have more info. Additional parts to come are the ailerons/flaps which are already wrapped and measure about 1.5' x 10', 2 boxes about 2' x 2' with books and spare parts, and a box with the radio stack. By a stroke of luck, I have recently made contact with a possible builder here in Dallas, so the delivery address may (hopefully) end up being at Dallas Love Airport, 1725 Regal Row, Dallas, 75247, which would actually be a some miles less and certainly easier to unload. Let me know if this creates a change for you. The builder will be available for pick-up between 9/21 and 9/26, after that the first of October. He is physically not able to help load. Let me know if I should arrange to have someone help load. What is your schedule? I don't have a firm must ship date and can be flexible. Thanks for the info on packing and shipping care...obviously concerned about damage. Thanks again, Mike (9/7/2006)
Question: Mike, quality transport here. Thanks for the update on the ailerons/flaps, 2 boxes about 2' x 2' with books and spare parts, and a box with the radio stack. The parts and the potential change in shipping destination pose no problems. I will have a helper with me so I will not need any assistance loading. My schedule is flexible too. If you decide to use my services for this move, accept my bid. I will then start booking a “back load” so I will not have to travel to the pick up destination empty. When I book a back load then we can get firm on the pick up date. I will try to make it in the 9-21 to 9-26 window if possible. I have a metal fabrication shop in Pilot Point Texas, and I have worked on a few of these BD-4’s before. It is a great design, you should be well pleased it. Let me know what you decide. Thanks (9/7/2006)
Question: Morn... just arrived...do we need to complete this? I can rebid and transport MON or TUE if I may ask...What may I do to earn your business? Peace, Gm-Cc (9/9/2006)
Question: Mike, Quality transport here. I am checking to see if you still need to have the BD-4 transported. I also wanted to ask if you had decided if you were going to use my services to transport the plane. Thanks. (9/12/2006)
Response: Yes, still need the plane transported. I've been out of town. Will go to the website and accept your bid. I think we'll then be able to talk in person and can start making arrangenments. Thanks, Mike (9/12/2006)
