Question:
9/24/2007
Does the trailer need to be carried off the ground, or can it be towed on its own wheels? I leave CA for Jacksonville FL on 9-26-07. When I turn around there, I'll be headed right back home to Lancaster CA. Please let me hear from you ASAP, so I'll know just what to bid. Thanks Much, Billy Wilkins, Lancaster CA (2coinnuts)Report a Violation
Response: I beleive it is supposed to be in good towing condition and ready to roll on its' own wheels. Thanks & looking forward to your bid on delivery. At this time I seem to be the highest bidder on the auction for this item on e-bay, so need to line up shipping quotes ASAP, just in case I am the winning bidder! I already bid higher on the item than I wanted to spend, so need to keep shipping costs down. It is a light-weight 13 ft fiberglass mini-camper trailer with interior furnishings/accessories and stated weight as-is comes under 1000 pounds. Some of the interior items would need to be secured & stowed (TV/DVD, porta-potti) before transit, not sure if the seller will handle that or if whoever I arrange to pick it up will have to do that. Thanks. 9/24/2007Report a Violation
Response: Sir, I could hook it right to the hitch receiver on the back of my rig, plug the lights in, and be on my way. I already have a 1997 Corvette that I will be picking up in Covington LA and bringing to Scottsdale AZ. I will also be stopping to see an Aunt that lives in Glendale, so I'll be right there. One more question. Do you know if it has a spare tire? If not, could you get one, and meet up with me on my way when I pass through Phoenix, so I can take it along. That is, if you accept my bid of course. I could do this for $700, and would sort of like to know if we have a deal before I leave CA on Wed. I'll go now and place the bid, and will look forward to the opportunity to help you. Thanks Much, Billy9/25/2007Report a Violation
Response: Hi, the auction does not end for 2 more days (Sept 26) so I won't know for sure until then if I am the winning bidder on the camping trailer. It does already have a spare on it. I would feel more comfortable with it being shipped on your cargo truck/trailer versus being towed, since I do not know for sure what condition it is in and seems there would be less chance for mishap/damage that way. It is supposed to be road-worthy read to roll, but one never knows buying on E-Bay. 9/25/2007Report a Violation
Response: As it looks right now, I could carry it on the trailer right behind the '97 Corvette. Its just a bit more work to load than tow. Billy9/25/2007Report a Violation
Response: OK, sounds good and if you don't mind loading it onto the trailer for that bid then I would say we have a tentative deal. I would not have insurance on it myself yet so your property damage coverage sounds pretty close to the value of this unit. I cannot commit for sure until after the auction ends, which is not until 9/27 early a.m. (sorry, I thought it was 9/26). So, there are still 2 days and a few hours for some A-hole to come along and out-bid me for the trailer, :-( It is lightweight and might even roll onto your cargo trailer by hand pretty easily, weight is approx 950-1000 pounds. I would also have to coordinate with the seller for a pickup time and date, that part may be beyond my control, though your window of dates from your previous email should work fine is my "guess" right now. Do you have a cell phone contact number for when you are on the road, or will you have web access? 9/25/2007Report a Violation
Response: I completely understand about your eBay auction. And yes, loading onto the trailer is quite easy for me. I have a slider that rides right up the center of the trailer that has a ball mount on it. Here is how the uShip works. As soon as you accept the bid, you will gain from them all the contact info for me. Billy9/25/2007Report a Violation
Response: OK, thanks. I can't accept the bid until I am sure I have won the auction, so will get back to you then through U-Ship. Hopefully I will be able to reach you when the time comes, sounds like you will be in-transit. 9/25/2007Report a Violation
Response: Sir, I will have the internet at my fingertips for the whole trip. And like I mentioned, as soon as you accept the bid, you will get from uShip all my phone numbers and contact info. Billy9/25/2007Report a Violation
Response: Hi Billy. The auction ends at 3:20 am tommorrow (Thus) and I will know then whether I got the trailer. The bidding has gone higher than I had hoped on my purchase, so I may not go any higher. 9/26/2007Report a Violation
