Additional Information: Hello: This is a sailboat with a keel that rests in a steel cradle when stored on land or being transported. The marina's will place the boat in the cradle on your flatbed trailer so you don't have to worry about lifting on or off your trailer. The mast nis removed but is 51.6 feet long.

Question: I am not sure that uship supports any type of "live" forum. What I can tell you is that this is an oversize load which means that it may only move from dusk to dawn and only until noon on Saturdays. This factor along with needing to pull permits to cross certain states are the reason for such a high quote. I will research this more for you over the weekend and Monday and give you the most competetive quote possible. I also need to know the value of your vessel to make sure it is adequately insured. Question: Hello Blee, Is the total, accurate height of the boat and the cradle together 120"? And the total outside dimensions of boat and cradle is 11'6"? Response: Hi SafeNLegal: Yes the boat is less than 12 feet tall while in cradle, and 11.6 wide. The boat is 33.6 feet long but the mast is 50 feet. The mast would be (centered) attached to the boat/cradle but can be repositioned anywhere as necessary. Thanks, Blee (1/28/2007)

Question: reading the questions has been fun, this boat does not fall under a full wide load criteria. The only time escorts would be needed is on two lane roads to get the boat to the interstate and the boat can transported at all hours on the interstate. an honest quote would be in the $2 to $2.50 per mile range. Question: is the boat attatched/strapped to the cradle or resting. I will need to know to make sure I have adequate straps for the boat and chains for the cradle. thankyou (3/15/2007)

Response: Hi Eaglehawk: The boat rests in the "v" shaped cradle to keep it balanced and secure while it is on land. The lead keel is about 5 feet long by 10 inches wide and centered under the boat. Without the cradle the boat would fall on it's side. Just to give you a picture of it. Hopethat helps. (3/15/2007)

Response: I have a new problem that just came up. Marina Del Ray informed me that they did not hold my slip like they stated. However, I do have an alternate slip in San Diego zip 91910.
