Questions for this shipment:

Question: hello shipper, does this still need to be moved? And can it be put on top of my p/u box (across 4x4s) and strapped down? (1/28/2008)
Response: Yes it still needs to be moved. It could be transported as you describe. I would absolutly move it that way if I needed to move it locally. I am not sure how it would do at highway speeds. It's basicly a pickup camper shell. Hope this helps you. Thank you for the intrest. Shipper (1/28/2008)
Response: hello again, I've got another question. If I had an atv in the back of my pickup and it sticks over the tailgate would this cap be tall enough to fit over it (atv) and not touch including the back door area or the cap (if it is hinged). I have the possibility of an atv from IA coming out to San Diego area. Let me know and I'll do the same if the atv falls thru. Thanks Mike@highwaymantrucking (2/2/2008)
Response: It might work. You would probably need to put it on backwords. This shell is very similar to a standard pickup shell except it as a little more roof area that covers the driver and passanger. It is really only appearant in the third picture. The overall inside width is about 57" and the over all length is about 85". The hieght is about 25 to 27 inches. I don't know how big the ATV is so I don't really know. I believe you said you would put it on 2 x 4 that would rest on your bed. That would work but you would need to add some small 2 by blocks to support the walls of the shell. This would keep the top from distorting when you strap it down. Hope this helps, thanks again for looking. Chris (2/3/2008)
Response: I'll use the dimensions you sent and check them out with the atv I've got here already. One thing that came into my head last nite is what you're saying about the back the box rails. Not sure yet how it'd work. The atv in IA may not work on buyers end, I'd also like more money on his load since it's a longer distance and a bit of time in it. So I'll let you know. Thanks for the response. Might be working with you. Bye (2/3/2008)
Response: What I was thinking is a 2x4 that is as wide as the top of your truck bed. Centered on that would be a 57" 2x4 that would make a 4x4 in the center section and 2x4 wings outside of that. Kind of a yoke. You would need a couple of these (maybe 3) that would rest on your bed. After these are on your be you would then set the shell on that. After the shell is set you would then want to attach another 2x4 length wise with the shell and attach it to the 2 or 3 cross pieces on each side. What I'm thinking is that this creates a channel that keeps the sides of the shell from squashing out or in when you sinch it down. You could use small pieces of 2x4 on the ends of the sleeper but I like the long pieces that run parallel to the shell because they tie all the sleepers together. Let me know it this makes sense to you. (2/5/2008)
Response: At this time I'm not sure if I'm coming that way or not. The first atv fell thru so I'm after another that located in KanCty. Not sure about him or not, lots of problem on his brother meeting p/u person. How sturdy is the shell? I don't plan on tightening it down more than just keeping it in place- not much pressure with the strap over the top. What I was going to do was put 2 4x4 across the bed rails from side to side(I've got a small crinkle in the top bed rail near the rear that pokes up almost an inch and is about 4inches long)and just place the cap over the top and strap down right where the 4x4 are. That way theres not much twist on the cap. My idea is could a 2x4 be bolted to the bottom of the cap and the that would protect the edge from twisting and then it would set on the 4x4. The front would not even have to be done since it would be alomost six inches from the box. Let me know it this way would be okay with you. With bumps and such the 2x may come outifnotsecured to cap. Mik (2/6/2008)
Question: Hi again shipper, If I do pick up your cap what times are good for p/u with the guy that has it? And are you okay with my ideas on transport? I would either be there late Friday but most likely early or 1st thing SAT. Let me know if this will work. Thanks Mike (2/6/2008)
Response: I will confirm with my people in WY. Late Friday to me is 4 to 5 and first this Satuday is 07. Let me know what it is to you. Your method sounds fine to me. Thanks (2/7/2008)
Response: Friday most likely will be too late, I am not even out the door yet. We were pretty snowed in, and the roads are all tied up so real no hurry to get out the door. I'll be running pretty much solid out to Cheyenne so by Sat morn I'll be there. We will be in touch by phone so we can work out the details then. I'll put in my bid for acceptance. It should give my home phone and if I'm not there, my cell # is on my machine. Thanks Mike (2/7/2008)
Response: I talked to my party in WY and they will leave the shell out in the front. I guess it is curently on there side yard. They wont be home on Friday and they will be there off and on, on Saturday. Thanks (2/7/2008)
Response: Due to the wind thats blowing out in WY and CO there is no way I can go that way, I'd be stuck there until at least Sunday pm. I'm pulling a RV (28ft) and with the winds it would end up on its side. Plus most of I80 and US30 are closed due to it. I'm sorry I can't help you out on this run out. If I get another load to CA, I'll check to see if it hasn't been p/u. Again I apoligize for not being able to go that way. Good luck, Mike (2/7/2008)
Question: Hello again, I cancelled my bid, please wait until you here from me. The interstate in Wyoming is closed west of Cheyenne due to high winds. I'm not sure if I'll be able to go that way. I need to run my trip directions to see how far out of the way Chey-Denver is if I do. I will do my best to get this done, I just don't want to have a cancelation on my feedback if I can't do as promised. I will be watching this very carefully. Thanks and I will be in touch. If all else fails and I don't have interenet on the road unless I stop. Research me and look me up. safersys.org go under company snapshot. Thanks Mike (2/7/2008)
Question: do you still want this done? I'm coming through Cheyenne tomorrow, going to L.A. I have just enough room at the end of my 36' enclosed car trailer to fit you on, will secure, have etrack and straps, and can blanket wrap if need be, will bid, thanks, charlie jr. (4/4/2008)
Response: Yes I still need it shipped but I'm sorry I missed out on you offer as I was out of town and had zero communication with the outside world. Thanks and hopefully I can catch you next time. (4/7/2008)
Response: thanks for the request, will put this on our watch list and rebid when we get ready to come by cheyenne, run to cali from michigan all the time, so shouldn't be long. thanks, charlie jr (5/7/2008)
Question: Hello again shipper, I may have another run out to CA coming up, but my destination is quite a bit further away. I don't have the exact city but it's about 25miles south of Fresno, how far are you from there? I think it's quite a bit further then where I delivered to last time so I don't think I can hit the 300 price with fuel price where its at, unless I get another load going back east to offset. Let me know at I'll keep you up to speed if I'm coming that way. Mike@highwaymantrucking (5/18/2008)
Response: I'm about 244 miles south of Fresno. Thanks (5/18/2008)
Question: i can pick this up 28th and deliver in 2-3 days. price 300. it would be loaded on a 3 car open trailer. i'am fully dot legal and have cargo insurance. if this meets your needs let me know. thsnks Team2Towing (5/24/2008)
