Response: : Hi: Your question is what valueation is put on your items if they are lost, stolen or broken. It is exactly the same valueation which all movers must provide free of charge according to NY & US D.O.T. regulations. It is valued at $.60 cents per pound unless you would want to purchase additional insurance. It Isn't necessary but we can get prices for you but it would be on the entire shipment, not just 1 or 2 items. Thereford we would need a complete inventory of every item which is to be shipped. Also, just a suggestion, check with own insurance agent that you have your homeowners or tenants lease insurance with. It could be that you are already covered under that policy, or that he could sell you additional insurance cheaper than any moving company could provide. They charge us higher because we are a moving company and not an individual like yourself. I hope this helps you to better understand the importance of an accurate inventory. Hi Anita, Just a quick note for your information,your shipment will not come off of my truck until it is delivered safely and in the same condition that it was shipped in. Other movers will probably take it off the truck across their dock and put into storage and then again take it out of storage and deliver to you. This is where damages and shortages happen. This does not happen with MDS Moving Systems, Inc. It will be padded and strapped into the van by me and two other professional movers, and delivered in the same condition that it was shipped in.
