Questions for this shipment:
Question:
are you a shipper or broker (1/18/2009)
Response:
I am the supplier, I am trying to help a client get some trucks to our facility, not a broker (1/19/2009)
Response:
are you still looking to move this? (1/22/2009)
Question:
When would you like to start these loads? Thanks, Shelley (1/19/2009)
Response:
ASAP- do you have truck or would you be brokering it out? also how many trucks do you think you can get and by when as we definitely want to start early this week-thanks (1/19/2009)
Response:
I would be brokering it out...however, my quality and no suprises for you policy will ensure a job well done and to your satisfaction. Let me know if you have any questions at all. I would like to take care of this for you. Thanks Much, Shelley (1/19/2009)
Response:
I really need to know how many trucks you can provide before I commit because we have 3,000 tons of salt to transport. Also how long would it take to get them into Toole Utah? thanks (1/19/2009)
Response:
I will work on all this for you ASAP. Give me til tomorrow and I will give you more detailed info. Thanks much for your quick response, Shelley. (1/19/2009)
Response:
thanks! please keep me posted- are you with Chase transportation? (1/21/2009)
Question:
super sacks will be your best bet.... dump trucks have to be paid round trip. (1/19/2009)
Response:
I'm sorry..I don't understand. What are super sacks? (1/19/2009)
Response:
giant sacks that they use to transport this type of loose material via flatbeds. Go online a search super sacks...... If you can do this it can easily be done we haul several commodities via supersacks... (1/20/2009)
Response:
hello, did you say whether or not you could help us out with the transportation or only if we have super sacks? (1/21/2009)
Question:
I CAN HELP YOU, THE OTHER SP WAS STATING THAT IF YOU BUY "SUPERSACKS" THEY ARE BASICLY GAINT SACKS THAT HOLD YOUR USUALLY ABOUT 1TON YOU CAN LOAD 22 IN A VAN AND 24 ON A FLAT BED. THIS ALLOWS YOU TO HAVE THE VOLUME OF TRUCKS YOU ARE LOOKING FOR. IF THIS IS POSSIBLE THEN I CAN GET THE VOLUME TO YOUR CUSTOMER. IT IS VERY HARD TO GET DUMPS TO RUN THAT DISTANCE FOR THE PRICE YOU ARE LOOKING TO PAY BECAUSE THERE IS NO BACK HAUL FOR THEM. THANK YOUDARRYL (1/22/2009)
Response:
thank you so much for your response. I asked my loaders about super sacks and the way our system works, it would take too much time to load the sacks and place on pallets when currently they use the conveyor system to just dump it into end-dump trailers or trucks. Currently you don't have anything to back haul to take the job as we need as many trucks as possible. Thanks! (1/23/2009)
Question:
Couple questions, please? Is it 3.3 million lbs or is it 3,000 TONS? (3000 tons would be 6.0 million lbs, big difference) What type of facility does the receiver in Elgin,IL have to unload these? How fast are you looking to move all of this? If I could commit to moving all of these loads at a rate of $2200/load (including the "U-ship.com fee"), would that get the business? Thanks, James (1/23/2009)
Question:
I asked the question directly above this, about the total weight. Is it 3.3 million lbs or is it 3,000 TONS?? (again, 3,000 tons would be 6 million lbs, not 3.3 million) Also, how is the receiver in IL equipped to receive this? How many loads per day can you ship? How many loads per day can they receive? Is $2200/truckload a good enough rate to get the business? I have the equipment to make this happen, in a short period of time. But since you are talking about 75-150 loads, that's $165-330K in freight bills, which we need to discuss as well. Thanks, James or Dan (1/27/2009)
Response:
hello and thank you so much for your response. It is really hard to communicate via uship without talking and making sure everything is in order before accepting. From my understanding each truck can hold somewhere between 23-24 tons. I am a direct supplier of road salt and my customers have been having transportation issues as we cannot get enough trucks to meet the demand. I have an immediate orders for about 2,000 tons which is about 86 or so odd trucks. My client are michigan salt and ohio rock salt they're on the web and interested. I am fearful to accept without them talking to you first as this is my first experience utilizing uship (1/28/2009)
Question:
If you have 3000 tons of salt it will take 150 loads at 20 tons each. I know end dumps and quad axils can haul more weight but I'm just running numbers. Each trip will take roughly 4 days round. Considering the fact drivers do want to go home every now and then, if I can get 30 trucks it will take less than 5 weeks. 50 trucks less than 3 weeks. I know some large outfits in IL that would be willing to throw every truck they have at it. I can get with them and find out an exact price. (1/27/2009)
