Response: Two things happened. The service provider kept changing the pickup and delievery dates. I had accepted his bid because he told me he would be picking up the rig in his covered trailer adn would deliver it on Monday Sept 17. We discussed this several times. When he finally showed up he ws in a van and told me he had to tow the boat to Orlando before loading it on the truck. I wasn't comfortable with the continuous changes he kept making to our arrangement. I know that the boat is safe where it is but I had no idea where is was going to be in Orlando which is 3 hours in the opposite direction to where the boat was going. Does this help expalin it? Response: You usually get what you pay for. Direct shipments cost more. Trailer space cost $, people have to make a living just like you. Fuel cost a lot! Vehicles and trailers cost a lot. Up keep, hotels, food, etc... Example.... look at my profile. See that truck and trailer? Over $60,000.00 to haul your little Dinghy over 700 miles for $350.00 No $ to be made for someone that has the equipment to do it and ship it direct. Response: I'd be willing to pay more if the boat wasn't being towed behind a truck but almost all of the bids were from peole that wanted to tow it. I don't mind it being towed up here but would perfer that it be loaded. You don't get to specify $425 to tow it and %500 to load it on a trailer when you place the bid request. Response: Do you remember the deposit you put down on the first shipment you accepted? Just remember that U-ship gets all of that. That is the shippers fee to get a match on U-Ship. Response: Actually, being the first time that I have used this site I didn't realize that the deposit went to uShip. I am not trying to get something for nothing. Response: It wasn't the service I didn't liek it was the changes. I should have cancleled the bid after the first change but I tried to be accomidating and ended up getting screwed. I'm p[retty easy to please and prettty realalistic. I had several emails in the $425 to $450 range heance the target of $425. I've never used book it now so I would try it.
