Questions for this shipment:

Question: Hi,Thank you for the bid request. I may be upstate this weekend when were you looking to move these mares? Lisa J&L Horse Transport Inc. (6/18/2008)
Response: Hello~ actually the weekend of the 28th, I am waiting on coggins results....if they come in, possibly this weekend would work... do you carry insurance? jodi (6/18/2008)
Response: I will be upstate on the friday the 27th would that be to soon? yes i do have insurance. (6/19/2008)
Response: sorry about the insurance question, its early.....i am not awake yet! :) (6/20/2008)
Response: I mapped it today and I think your a little to far off my route for me to match your other bids. Im sorry, Lisa J&L Horse Tranport inc. (6/20/2008)
Response: no problem. thank you. (6/20/2008)
Question: You can self insure your horses if that is a sticking point. I just don’t offer insurance to people shipping their horses. Would you like the organization that provides self insurance? (6/19/2008)
Response: that would be good.... (6/19/2008)
Response: I may have a truck that may be going to MA next weekend with a side trip to NH / VT. Do you still need transport for your horses? We don’t offer insurance but we get the job done. My wife is the primary shipper in this operation and she has never lost a horse or had an incident. I have asked her about insurance and as I mentioned earlier you can purchase insurance from several providers. I will send the insurance company names and you can Google the web site. I dont want to get in trouble with the web site for listing web addresses. Please let us know what you would like to do. V/R Curt and Dagmar (6/20/2008)
Response: Hi, it states in the user agreement that all shppers are to carry insurance. thanks for your offer, but I have many offers that do offer insurance. take care. (6/20/2008)
Response: Yes, my equipment is full coverage insurance. As for the horse: Insurance - Horses travel at owner's risk! Whether on a van, ship, or aircraft, horses travel entirely at the owner's risk. Therefore we strongly urge all owners to obtain mortality insurance on their horse, to include the purchase price, and the cost of shipping whenever possible. References for Insurance carriers are available upon request. I recommend the equine insurance center I carry this for my boarding operation: COMMERCIAL EQUINE LIABILITY (6/21/2008)
Response: Hello, just got word that the vet was out today and did Health Certs and drew blood for coggins. Vet said would hurry test along. Should be all set by next week this time. Would you be able to shipp the 3rd 4th or 5th?? thanks. Jodi (6/25/2008)
Question: ALL LEGAL HAULERS ARE REQUIRED BY LAW TO INSURE WHAT THEY ARE HAULING......NO INSURANCE = NOT LEGAL. READ THE U-SHIP AGREEMENT. (6/20/2008)
Response: Thats good to know. But many that have responded said they do not have insurance. Are you going to bid on my shipment? If so, when would you be able to ship? thanks. Jodi (6/20/2008)
Response: I have placed my bid.....and have sent you details. Sincerely, PrincetonEquineTransport Have a great weekend!!! (6/21/2008)
Response: Hello, thank you for your bid. It is a bit high for me. However, I will still keep you in mind, I like how you presented your company... that is very important. I am awaiting an answer from the seller on HC & neg cog. They should have done this prior to selling, but they did not. So hopefully we can do something within the next 3 weekends. Would love to have them on 4th of july weekend. I will keep you posted. thank you for your bid. (6/21/2008)
Question: Here is the law: Did you think you were getting insurance for the value of your horse: Will my horse be insured? As a federally regulated carrier , $1,000 limited accidental mortality insurance is provided for each horse. It is important to understand that this is collision mortality only insurance. As a third party (not the owner), it is not possible for us to provide full coverage insurance. It is primarily the horse owner's responsibility to provide insurance. If the owner elects not to obtain insurance, the owner assumes all risks. If you're shipping a horse that has just been purchased, it is strongly recommended that the buyer and seller come to an understanding in advance as to who is responsible for insurance during shipment or who is assuming the risk. If you want full coverage you should arrange for insurance prior to shipping. Inexpensive options for 30-day policies for travel are readily available from sources such as the All American Horse Insurance Agency. (6/21/2008)
Response: Did you get my last email?? if not, would you be able to ship the 3rd, 4th or 5th of July? please let me know. thank you. Jodi (6/27/2008)
Question: Insurance Information Agri-Risk Services Inc All American Horse Insurance Agency All American Horse Insurance, Mortality, Liability, Trail Rides, Clubs, 30-Day Policy for Horses Being Hauled. A collection of insurance articles from Best Insurance Brokerage Ltd. A great resource for insurance information at Equisearch.com (6/21/2008)
Question: It’s the owner’s responsibility to insure your horse for this movement, you'll only get the $1000 collision insurance as required by law. I know the business and my wife knows it better than me, I don’t expect to move your horse, but as long as were having this discussion lets educate everybody on the issue. YOU’RE NOT GETTING FULL COVERAGE INSURANCE ON YOUR HORSE UNLESS YOU BUY IT. Just like I buy it for my boarding operation, you need to buy it for shipping your horse. Not my responsibility. (6/21/2008)
Question: I saw your offer for rebid, I read through your conversation with TenderTouchTransport there is nothing I can do for you until you have the medical paper work straight, the fines for hauling these horses and getting caught illegally across state boarders without Coggins or health certificates isn’t worth the $500. I've been pulled over in the past and the states do check, they want to see if you’re hauling anything and the paperwork. When the paperwork is complete the price is $538, let me know what you want to do. I can’t go any lower for 2 horses. (6/21/2008)
Response: I will keep you posted. (6/21/2008)
Question: I spoke to the wife, she tells me the state of New York take 10 - 14 days to process a Coggins test. If they are pulling the sample on Monday then the earlist will be 3 JULY. You may way to go back to the people you purchased the horses from and light a fire under them to at least get the health certificates done. I live in NY and know what a pain it can be, ASK them when the last time the Coggins were done, in NY Coggins are good for 2 years, not 1. V/R Curt and Dagmar (6/21/2008)
Response: Yes, they said that they have only one vet in the area and he is hard to get there. They also had really severe weather and the whole area did not have power for a few days and many trees came down in the next storm. So, here I wait.... I want really want those horses! The older mare has a coggins, but her yearling does not. So that is what I am waiting for and the health certs. what a pain. they should have had all that together before putting them up for sale. (6/21/2008)
Response: How old is the baby, certain state’s allow transport of babies without Coggins if they are under a certain age. VA is one such state, under the age of 10 months. I will do a quick Google search into NY laws and let you know, this may be an option for your situation. As for the individual snipping my comments, you can contact me any time through shipper profile, there is no need to drag this poor lady into argument between shippers. Just look up cjhewett as the shipper and we can have this conversation in private. Maam, I apologize for any inconvenience or distress that this may have caused you. My day job is as major at Fort Drum NY, I have been to Iraq 3 times and my professionalism is above reproach. I’m in the 3-10 Bde Combat Team (BCT), 710th Bde Support Battalion (BSB); I’m the S-3. I will place my reputation up against anybody and we can measure up in private. Like I said this is my wife’s business and I’m trying to help her be successfull. V/R Curt (6/23/2008)
Response: Hi, the baby is a year and a half so she does need the coggins and health cert. As for the second part of your question, I am not sure what you are talking about???????????? What poor lady?? why apology?? Jodi (6/23/2008)
Response: Jodi: I was talking to the other person, its seems like its a running conversation inside of the conversation to meet your shipping requirements. It really was something that the other shipper and I could have discussed instead of dragging you into it. I know you have enough issues on your plate trying to get your horses shipped. Since your name is Jodi , I naturally assumed your a woman. Sorry if I added to your confusion the other comments were not directed towards you. I go back to my day job on WED after that my wife will answer the emails. When your medical requirements met, please consider Dagmar for your shipping needs. (6/23/2008)
Response: oh, ok, and yes, I am a female. I will definately consider....and contact when things get straightened. ty for clarifying. Jodi (6/23/2008)
Question: Ummmmm.....Unless the law has changed, the last time I checked...You CAN NOT get a health Cert without a current COGGINS!!! (6/21/2008)
Response: Yes I know, that is what I am waiting for.... Coggins and health certificates. THe mother mare has her coggins but the yearling does not. So I have to wait untill I hear from her. (6/21/2008)
Response: Hi Jodi.....the health cert comment was not for you...it was for whomever thinks that lighting a fire under someones butt will scare the vet into giving them a health cert without a coggins....LOL....I must say...there's some pretty funny stuff on this site...before transporting a horse one really should know the proper and LEGAL (there's that word again!!!) procedures for doing so... (6/21/2008)
Question: Here is New Yors State Law from the: TITLE ONE OF THE OFFICIAL COMPILATION OF THE CODES, RULES AND REGULATIONS OF THE STATE OF NEW YORK CIRCULAR 960, dated JULY 06. PART 64 – MOVEMENT AND TRANSFER OF HORSES AND OTHER EQUIDAE PART 67 – VESTICULAR STOMATITIS ARTICLE 5 of the Agriculture & Markets Law (Section 95-c: Examination of Horses for Equine Infectious Anemia) ARTICLE 26 of the Agriculture & Markets Law (Section 359-a: Transportation of Horses) Section 64.8 Test requirements for sale or other change of ownership. (a) No horse or other equidae six months or more of age, unless exempted by the provisions of section 64.5 or 64.9 of this Part, shall be sold, exchanged, bartered or given away, unless such animal has been subjected to an agar gel immunodiffusion test, a competitive ELISA test or other U.S.D.A.-approved test for equine infectious anemia (Coggins Test) and reacted negatively within 12 months prior to such transfer of ownership. (6/23/2008)
Question: Hi Jodi, WOuld you be able to transport this weekend? (6/25/2008)
Response: I wish... Seller just called today and set vet came out and did health Certs and drew blood for coggins. Said vet would hurry it along, but probably not ready till this time next week. Can you do it on teh 3rd, 4th or 5th?? Sorry this is such a hassel. Jodi (6/25/2008)
Response: Usually the vet will be able to get a faxed copy within 24 hours...call tomorrow and ask, and after she gets that she can complete the health cert...after that I would not be able to transport until July 10th time frame.. (6/25/2008)
Response: I will give it a try and let you know if It will be this weekend. Thanks (6/25/2008)
Response: talk to you soon! (6/25/2008)
Response: well, I havent heard back, so I guess it will not be this weekend. I will let you know when I get the paperwork. thanks again. Jodi (6/27/2008)
Response: sure thing! just let me know when you know...no worries! (6/27/2008)
Question: No, I didnt receive your email, yes we could do that, I also may have a run going from Ithica NY to NJ tomorrow. I received a cold call from a lady wanting to have her horse shipped this SAT. Otherwise as far as I know my wife could do the shipment on the 2nd or the 3rd, she has nothing scheduled and your not that far away from us. July 4th Weekend is not available she will not travel during the holiday because of activities with the kids. (6/27/2008)
Response: the 3rd would be great for us. I will get you all the info.... am I aloud to put the info for the seller on here? Like thier address, name, number?? jodi (6/27/2008)
Response: Once the bid is accepted you will have all my contact information and I will be able to get locations and coordinate times for pick up and delivery. Curt (6/27/2008)
Response: ok then. I am just hoping they will have the coggins & HC ready by then. it was done on wed of this week, should see it by the 3rd. or at least a faxed copy. I have called her and left a message for her to call me. I will get back to you by accepting bid asap. OK?? thanks jodi (6/27/2008)
Response: Ok, no problem (6/27/2008)
