Question: please detail shipoment so i may classify it to ship thanks (3/11/2008)

Response: I'll include as much detail as I can.
I'm shipping the computer from a residential neighborhood in zip 98168 to my work on a university campus in zip 27695. The computer is 10 years old, and only has value as a collectible. The computer plus the pallet and any other packing materials should weigh 205 lbs. The pallet is sized very closely to the footprint of the machine. The machine will be ratchet-strapped to the pallet, wrapped with bubble wrap and then stretch wrap.
The pickup will need some way of loading the computer onto the truck, so I specified a lift gate, but other options may work as well. I have a forklift and loading dock at my work on the destination end.
If you need any other details, I will be glad to provide what I can. I should have a picture soon that I can post as well. Thanks.

Response: Thanks, just need to know type of computer and exact size (4x4 like pallet?) I will provide liftgate pickup not a problem, is it needed for delivery or will you have forklift and personnel as you mentioned? I would appreciate the opportunity to provide service for this shipment so I will place bid when enough info is gathered......i will need to classify it to ship according to ind regulations, thanks (3/11/2008)

Response: I took a standard pallet and cut it down to help with the density. The dimensions for the pallet are 32" x 22", which is very close to the footprint of the computer (29x21). The machine is basically a type of mainframe computer used for graphic design. It's not rackmount, but floorstanding with plastic covers over a metal chassis.
thanks! (3/12/2008)

Response: Well, I'm waiting on the shipper to finish the palletizing. Once that is done, I can move pretty quickly. Everything should be ready to go within your bid dates.
I'm not planning on jumping on the lowest bid yet, I figured I'd give it a couple of days and see what goes down. Thanks! (3/13/2008)

Shipper to load item(s) onto liftgate & Consignee to unload item(s) from back of truck … Do you have any questions or require rate and/or service clarification?? ... If so, then please ask before accepting … THX (3/12/2008)
