Weight:

Additional Information:
This is a Buick straight 8 engine and transmission (ebay #250182327706). There's also a radiator (ebay #250182333397), from the same car. The engine and transmission will be strapped to a pallet. The radiator is in a separate cardboard box. Dimensions and weights stated are approximate, and do not include the radiator. The cart which is in the pictures in not included. Pick up M-F 8-4. Pick up location has an engine hoist to help load. Drop off after 5pm, or weekends. Drop off location has forklift to unload. I'm fine with on open trailer transportation, but would like the carb covered with plastic to protect from rain.
Questions for this shipment:
Question:
IF you can have it secured to a pallet I can do it in an enclosed trailer for $200 (11/14/2007)
Response:
I know it's been a week already, and might be too late. If I pay you an extra $50, could you take an empty pallet with you and strap the engine to it? Thanks, Jaakko (11/20/2007)
Response:
I would love to...BUT for insurance and liability reasons we do not package any shipment in any way. Sorry! (11/21/2007)
Response:
Ok. I'm trying to have the seller put it onto a pallet. I'll let you know if he gets it done. Thanks, Jaakko (11/21/2007)
Response:
sounds good...let me know and I will bid (11/21/2007)
Response:
It's been a long time again. I talked to the seller, and he said he will have the engine and transmission on a pallet. The radiator is boxed in a cardboard box, but won't be on a pallet. Are you still interested in transporting these? (11/30/2007)
Response:
Not sure how it would be movable if there is no way to get underneath of it...my concern is damage to the engine. (11/30/2007)
Response:
You should be able to get underneath a pallet, right? The seller has an engine hoist he will use to get the engine onto the pallet. (11/30/2007)
Question:
Hello & would like to quote you an accurate / correct rate for this shipment. However, I'm in need of additional information in order to do so: - item(s) loaded loose & not suitably protected are subject to carrier acceptance only for shipment at owner's risk; so will shipper palletize engine?? ... rad should be able to fit alongside too ... must less chance for damage to be incured from handling if properly palletized .. let me know .. THX (11/23/2007)
Response:
Hi, I've asked the seller to put the engine on a pallet and strap it down. I don't have high confidence that he can get it done though. The seller informed me that he has the radiator boxed up. Would you be able to take a loose pallet and strap the engine and trans down for additional cost? I think the radiator box should be able to travel loose. Thanks, Jaakko (11/23/2007)
Response:
understand & so it appears you have a somewhat un-cooperative shipper for prepping the shipment in a manner acceptable to the carrier for carriage and therefore liability for entrusted care. Best you go with a party willing to accept item being "dumped" loose on trailer floor at owner's risk. (like a tin scow trailer for scrap iron hauling) Sorry, but we choose to pass in situations appearing to be like this one ... Thanks for replying though (11/24/2007)
Question:
This is one of our regular routes, I can help you with this. I dont need it palleted either or anything fancy, Just some muscle to help load. If thats there, we can do this as early as next week. our bid for this is 385.00 and we will take care of all the details. Let me know. (11/23/2007)
Response:
The seller has an engine hoist to help with the loading. I have a forklift for unloading. Your bid is a little higher than what I was hoping to spend. I think I could come up as far as $300. (11/23/2007)
Response:
If you will accept my bid, and not use it as bait to get cheaper freight quotes, I will go 300.00 Let me know. You will not be dissapointed. I assure you. (11/24/2007)
Response:
I can accept your bid, as long as it includes UShip fees. You are aware that the engine and trans are not on a pallet? This seems to be a problem to most carriers. I do not have a problem if you carry it on an open trailer, but I would like for you to at least seal the carburetor with plastic. You should also tie down the engine, rather than just letting it roll around in the back of a pickup. The seller has an engine hoist to load, and I have a forklift to unload. Let me know if you can ship this. Jaakko (11/24/2007)
