Question: Here is some info that you do not know. In the NYC area 12' wide loads must cross the bridge coming out at 12 midnite. You must also have an escort which is $250. Then you must wait until morning to get into the port and if you don't have a port ID you don't get in period. It is not a 4.5 hour job. It is every bit of a 24 hour job start to finish. (8/21/2008)

Response: I didn´t know that, I have to make it cheaper, I can ship from New York, how much difference would that make to the price? (8/23/2008)

Question: Very well put. When at the port they can hold you all day and sometimes into the next day. We charge a flat rate for port work and if we get stuck oovernight because of their errors we charge an additional days expense. (8/21/2008)

Response: Ok, So from your advice, it would be more cost effective if I move it closer to port, its in the water at the moment, I could fly across for $300. And have it lifted in New jersey or near, would that make it cheaper, easier? (8/23/2008)

Response: It could be advantages to just take the boat to the port and have them lift it there. Thanks, Cliff - BCR Transport, LLC. (8/23/2008)

Response: This is all new to me, I´ve not shipped a boat before. Before it can be shipped I will need to prep it, removal of the flybridge etc. This I can do myself, but is there somewhere I could do it once its out of the water. Any advice would be welcomed! I assumed that there would be a standard mile charge as like here in the UK, but I understand the bridge regulaions and unsociable time it would have to be done by road for the high cost. I´m going see what information I can find online, but if you know anything that would help....please let me know, thanks, greg (8/23/2008)

Response: If you are going to take the boat to Jersey then it would be just as easy to go to the port and have them lift it there. Also, you would only pay for 1 lift fee instead of 2. Thanks, Cliff - BCR Transport,, LLC (8/23/2008)

Response: Thanks for replying so quickly, I have a time problem, the boat has to be moved from its current mooring by the 1st and my shipping dates are not until the end of september, would there be somewhere to store it for that length of time? its the weekend and the shipper´s not open! I could send it from New York, would that make any difference with the bridge? Regards. Greg (8/23/2008)

Question: Hello we have alot of experience in working with the port authorities we could do an inwater deliver for you to any port and then build the cradel onsite and put her safely on board a ship for transport to the UK for you. (8/23/2008)

Response: Thanks for the offer, but I will need the flybridge and other parts removing before shipping UK bridge height), and it can only be controlled from the flybridge.....Also, it should go on a RO RO ferry (inside).....thats the plan! Regards, Greg (8/23/2008)
