Response: If you would pay the uShip fee plus the $350 that would work for me. I should be able to load up the ramp of a flatbed I will be towing (picking up a car to drop near your delivery location) then into my truck and offload the same way. I would ask for payment in cash only on delivery. Response: On uShip's web site they quote the fees in a tiered structure based on the amount of the bid. the fees are: 12.9% up to a bid amount of $300.00, plus 9.9% of the remaining match value balance. So, in our case, the fee would be 12.9% of the first $300 ($38.70) plus 9.9% of the remaining $50 ($4.95) for a total uship fee of $43.65. The way it would work, if this sounds OK to you and the pickup schedule works for me, is that I would place a bid for $350 and uShip would automatically add the fee - you would receive a bid for the total amount of $393.65 (if my calculations are correct!). When you accept the bid uShip would extract their fee from you directly and my $350 portion would be payable on delivery. Response: Payment of the fee is made directly from the shipper to the service provider, in any mutually agreed upon terms. Only the uShip fee is paid to or thru uShip. In my case I prefer to be paid after I've done the work, and would want payment to be in greenbacks at the moment of satisfactory delivery (no checks or any other form of payment except cash). Any news yet about timing options for pickup (and delivery)? I don't want to place a bid until I'm sure I can meet whatever schedule we agree upon. thanks. bryan (7/5/2007)

Response: I was just about to email you....moments ago I got an email from the person whose car I was scheduled to transport to Delaware and he cancelled the shipment. So I'll need to find another load before I can bid on your motorcycle. I have some outboard motors I need to pick up in Annapolis so will be making the trip as soon as I find a car to carry or other flatbed load. Please know, however, that my bid was based on the fact that I would have been delivering the car about 30 miles from where I would have delivered the motorcycle - so that gave me the opportunity to make a competitive bid. The next load may not be close so and that would necessarily affect my bid amount, as I'm sure you can see.
