Response: hhm, that's kind of a lot, i thought it would be less than 400...i haven't finished packing yet, so i don't have a firm count of the number of boxes just yet. i just know when i moved here from East coast to LA I had 1 giant wardrobe box full of clothes 5 or so 20x20x20 boxes full of clothes
and 10 "file" boxes full of miscellaneous items, some files, a few with books and miscellaneous items---No furniture...and I've consolidated a lot since that move.

I'm moving out of LA back to Pittsburgh, PA right now. i'm locked in a lease in LA until January, so it's not urgent but I would like to get settled for obvious reasons. Also dealing with transporting my car across country as well.
just taking boxes of clothes, books, household items, no furniture.
i'm not done packing so the box count is an estimate.

Response: Not sure about the car transport but there are a number of carriers on this site that have good reputations, which is always important (to read the feedback for each shipper). So, after Weds, would there be anyone to help with pick up? If I picked up this week I would most likely be back in "The Burgh" by weds or thursday of the following week. i'm worried about the fact that after i consoldiate and repack all my boxes i may have a little less boxes. is there any flexibility in the amount of the quote based on what you see when you arrive at my house? I really thought it would be closer to 350, definitely less than 400$.

Response: Yes, since the shipment is so small I can be flexible. I calculate that based on your inventory you have about 40 cubic feet of boxes. This is on the low end. I will charge you accordingly to the cubic feet. So once you have a firm idea of boxes, and their dimensions please let me know I can recalculate the cu' needed. For now, I will keep the bid where it's based on the inventory but will recalculate. I work on a 75/25% payment system, the first after loading. So theoretically, the 1st payment would be around $350. If we determine that you have less than that 40 cubic feet that may be the only payment made. Thanks! Steve (11/2/2009)
