Questions for this shipment:

Question: do you need a full 40 footer? Are you going to self load in Palmer, and offload in Ft. Collins? I've lived in Anchorage for over 20 years, and supplied containers for southbound moves. Dan USContainer (1/20/2008)
Response: Yes, we will likely require two 40 containers. I own one, but It has had a door installed in it so is not standard any longer. Also I would then have to deal with selling it down there while trying to get established, etc. So we are looking for the pricing of two 40' containers delivered to our house here (One month prior to pick up) and delivered to a location in Fort Collins other then our home that we can access for one month after it's arrival. So we need to know pricing for (2): 1.) Container Drop off 2.) Cost here for container usage one 30 days prior to pick up 3.) Transport Wasilla/Ft. Collins 4.) Storage for container in Ft. Collins for approximately 30 days (1/20/2008)
Response: I can price it out that way - but it's going to be pricy. I can give you a week to load and unload for both trailer - but a month on each end - you are going to pay 3 weeks detention on both ends for 2 trailers. Also, what is going in them? Just household goods - any vehicles? You can get 35,000# of household goods in that space. Let me know before I price - I won't be able to get you rates until Tuesday anyway. Dan USContainer (1/20/2008)
Response: One of the containers will likely have vehicle in it and household goods, the other is likely to be only household goods. Well, also a large quantity of computer parts. I owned a computer store here and I am going to take my inventory with me to sell there or start another store. When you say pricey I guess we will see tomorrow what additional pricing it will cost. But, would you suggest possibly shipping our own connexs? I own a 40' one now and maybe it would be worth it to buy another and then sell them down there after off loading them? What are your thoughts on this? Thanks for your help. Also, we are not moving until June/July time frame. We are just starting the planning stage and getting ready for the big spring garage sale, etc. Tom (1/21/2008)
Response: I wii have some numbers for you by days end - I will be out of the office until about 3:00pm Seattle time, and then will work on yours. If you need that time for loading and unloading, I'm confident it would be worth your while to use your own containers. The shipping companies want their equipment to be making money, especially during the summer months. Container detention is on a graduating scale - it gets more spendy the longer you keep them. Dan USContainer (1/22/2008)
Question: I was talking with my partner and we both thought it would be a good idea if you bought another container then had it hauled down by truck. Give it some thought and I can give you a quote in a couple of days. Hope your move goes good. Ladytigger (3/5/2008)
Question: do you need 1 month loading in Palmer? I could give you a week to load in Palmer for each trailer for no extra charge with 1 week to offload in Ft. Collins, CO with a 3 week transit time. Will that work? I also have a rep in Anchorage to assist you in materials, etc. (3/8/2008)
