Question: Is the weight 8,000 or 80,000? (11/8/2008)

Response: it is a very small barge, thus the weight is approximately 8,000 possibly 10,000 lbs although I doubt it. I based this weight on similiar barges in this size. Having no equipment just bare decks, this is a very good estimate.... (11/8/2008)

Response: Well the next big problem is that a front and rear escort will be needed all the way. It is not cheap by any means. (11/8/2008)

Response: Sundance I checked the rates for private as long as the load doesn't exceed 16 or less then no Police escort is required... Also, did you read my previous e-mail for the 30 mile to the east delivery as I have two bids and just may decide to move it on the water. (11/9/2008)

Response: Any word on when or if you want to move this yet? (11/23/2008)

Response: I was trying to move the barge on 08-21-09 (8/10/2009)

Response: Are you ready to go for the 21st yet? I would need to know pretty quick. It can take 48 hours just to get a 16' wide permit. (8/15/2009)

Response: I'm Ready, I was waiting on my boss as she stated if she didn't here from me by Saturday then I can come in from offshore. I will book you this evening... Thank You sooooo much for your patience... (8/15/2009)

Response: I have been doing some double checking on permits, Florida does not allow anything over 14' wide to move on the weekends. This would mean we would be stuck about Mobile, Al. until Monday to finish up. Loading out on the 24th would give the best scenario for moving with less problems. It may also take 48 hours to get the permits at 16' wide because of construction and detours, so these would need to be ordered by Wednesday or Thursday to have them ready for Monday. Let me know what I can do to help. (8/16/2009)

Response: 24th sounds good, thanks for the update, as I will fly back to florida then drive back up to assist. I'm bringing the boat so I can push it into position. I have some local support in the event we have some troubles. One gemtlmen owns a logging company and may be able to assist. Also, I have the crane company on standby, and I was directed to a better loading area just a mile away so I will be checking this out ahead of time. Please let me know what I can do to assist you further... Preperation is the key to sucess!!!! Thanks for all your support thus far... (8/17/2009)

Question: Sorry to state that this is NOT a private move..it is a commercial one. If you hire a company to move your barge, you must hire escorts and most likely a police escort as well..to do it legally. Just thought you'd like the authority on it. (11/10/2008)

Response: thanks for the feedback! (11/11/2008)

Response: you are quite welcome. best of luck with your move. (11/11/2008)

Response: Thank You (11/12/2008)

Question: is this still available? (11/20/2008)

Response: yes (11/20/2008)

Response: i have a 53' stepdeck/flatbed in Layfatte LA this weekend. Could this be ready to move over the weekend? (11/21/2008)

Response: not on the holiday sorry not on their end.... (11/25/2008)

Response: Have you considered all the factors into moving this thing? Permits, escorts, etc? And after all that have you come up with a target price you want to stay at? (11/25/2008)

Response: Target seems to be around 7000 how much would escorts cost in your summation? (8/10/2009)

Question: You have had a ti9me with this for awhile,Thanks for giving me another shot at it.I will price it as well as I can and I will be available in 1 to 2 weeks from My home in Ne Texas..tduncan55(ThomasDuncanTrucking) (8/10/2009)

Response: Thanks Duncan will you include all the escort pricing as well as I just want one price and be done with it... Thank You sir? (8/10/2009)

Response: Yes,If this is not over 16'w it will be <7500.00,I wilkl bid again thanks.... (8/11/2009)

Response: I'm going to wash off the spud wells so it will be 16' Thank You for your bid..... (8/11/2009)

Response: Thank you for considering my operation,If you need anything else let me know....tduncan55(ThomasDuncanTrucking) (8/11/2009)

Response: Thanks Mr. Duncan I'm giving them all very serious consideration as we speak. In addition, I'm having the guy I purchased the barge from measure the width one more time... Once he has the spudwells removed I will have a good measurement. In the event it is an inch over would there be a possibility we could tilt the barge slightly therefore not to go over the 16' rule? Thanks for your answer in advance... (8/12/2009)

Response: See other communication,3" will be 1 1/2" on each side,no problem we will make it work. (8/13/2009)

Response: Thanks Mr. Duncan I appreciate this.... (8/14/2009)

Question: Hi, what are your plans for loading and unloading? (8/10/2009)

Response: I have a travel lift at the marina on the other side, I'm still looking at crane drivers on the louisiana side.... (8/11/2009)

Response: I am in Arizona heading back to Florida, if you can arrainge the crane at pick up, I can do this for you on my way back this week, or at least pick up this week, and deliver early next week. Let me know! (8/11/2009)

Response: I'm looking at my schedule now as I'm offshore until 18th of this month, maybe I could hire someone to wash/cut of the spud wells as they stick out 1 foot on each side as I was planning to do this myself. Then I would have to check with the owner to see if he can push the barge to the landing for loading. The crane guys seems flexible... Definately will have to make some calls please standby for further info.... (8/11/2009)

Question: * While price is important, there are other considerations before choosing a carrier. Insurance: We have $1.25 million in all risk cargo coverage. Safety: Check our Federal DOT safety rating by clicking on our DOT number. Our safety rating is much better than the national average. Experience: Our second-generation company has been in business for 55 years, hauling nothing but boats from coast to coast, in Canada, and to all ports in the US. We have hauled for nearly every major boat manufacturer in the US, both power and sail, we are a major carrier for the New York and Miami Boat Shows, and we are an authorized carrier for the US military. Equipment: We have 50 trucks/200 trailers. Drivers: Our drivers meet all Federal DOT qualification standards and have extensive boat hauling experience. All of these factors are very important when it comes to moving your boat. We have a truck available now, when are you ready to move. MoveMyBoat (8/12/2009)

Response: I'm getting the vessel ready as we speak as I'm having the spud wells cut off Once the spudwells are removed I will have a good measurement. In the event it is an inch over would there be a possibility we could tilt the barge slightly therefore not to go over the 16' rule? Thanks for your answer in advance... (8/12/2009)

Response: Yes we can. We have a truck with a 3 axle trailer available now, the driver lives in Mobile,AL. The barge must lifted on and off (8/12/2009)

Response: Ok, I've narrowed it down between you and another as your history is amazing... The one thing that I'm considering is the fact that another carrier can wet load the barge saving me on the pick up... I have a marine travel gantry on the other end so no problem there. I do have a crane lined up for pick up and still trying to figure out what is the best solution..... Thank You for your patience I will have an answer shortly once I get accurate measurements once the spud wells are cut off.... (8/12/2009)

Response: To tilt the barge you will need a crane to do that (8/12/2009)

Response: I'm not saying I will need to tilt the barge for sure just trying to prepare for all posibilities... Once the barge is on the deck I guess a bottle jack would work if it was blocked properly dont you think? (8/12/2009)
