Question: Hello Philip and Jane; I will be in Charlotte before tuesday, and could bring this back down for you atop my car trailer, if your listed dimensions are right. Have done this many times for people with smaller boats. I am currently bidding several other jobs, but as soon as one shipper accepts, the others will be automatically cancelled. Thanks for your time, John/Valleyfleet (7/10/2009)

Response: Thanks for the quick response to my ad, John. FYI, I've put down a deposit for the boat with a fellow in Charlotte. The boat dimensions are correct and I know the trailer is a small sailboat trailer. Let me double check with him on the dimensions of the trailer itself and I'll get back to you! Phil (7/10/2009)

Response: Good Phil, fyi, it can be 90 inches wide, 20 ft. total length, and up to 4000 lbs, and be OK. Thanks for the quick response. (7/10/2009)

Response: Howdy. Just got some information on the size of the boat and trailer:
"Overall height including mast is 7' 4". Overall length is about 21', and
width including trailer is 6 1/2 feet (78").
I think the boat will fit, 'cause the trailer isn't 21' long - that's just the total length of the mast, which is mounted on brackets attached to the boat and the trailer. The trailer itself is more like 18 feet. I'll try to add a photo to my listing so you can take a look.
What do ya think? Phil (7/12/2009)

Response: Phil, sounds like it will fit. However, I am in Charlotte monday night, and have a load going to Jacksonville tuesday. I probably will then go on down to the Palm Beach area. If you need it picked up, I could do that, and store it at my brothers place in Charlotte, then deliver on the next trip south, say in 7 to 10 days. Not sure that helps you. Thanks for your time, and request to re-bid, john (7/13/2009)

Question: DO YOU STILL NEED SHIPING THANKS WAYNE (7/12/2009)

Response: Hey, Wayne - regret it took so long to get back to you. Yes, I still need transportation and would welcome a bid from 'ya. I've got some flexibility but need to have the boat picked up before the 30th of July. Thanks, Phil (7/22/2009)

Response: iam sorry i am out of the area, good luck with your sail boat wayne (7/22/2009)

Question: Shipper: I can haul your boat on my super lowboy flatbed trailer.(Save your tires and bearings) Hopefully you want your items transported by a licensed MC/DOT compliant carrier with commercial liability and cargo insurance. I encourage you to review my profile (or any other carrier you may be considering) as well as verifying MC/DOT numbers. All carriers must have an MC/DOT number to legally haul for hire. U-Ship also highly recommends that you follow these procedures. Thanks ! Gatorman
(7/13/2009)

Response: Thanks, Gatorman, for the bid and additional info. I like the idea of shipping on your lowboy and your bid seems reasonable.
What's your schedule like? I'm not in a rush, but would need a couple of days heads up before you make the pick-up.
Also, would you be able to sit the boat and trailer down at the bottom of my standard width concrete driveway in Fairhope? In other words, would your lowboy fit down the driveway? FYI, I won't be there when the boat is delivered, so I wanna make sure we wouldn't have to leave the boat at curbside.
Appreciate your bid! Phil (7/14/2009)

Response: Phil,I'm really flexible. My trailer is 38ft. long and about 6in. off the ground in the rear with ramps. The last boat I hauled we just backed it up on the trailer with the customers truck and then
unloaded the same way at the destination. It's real simple. (7/14/2009)

Response: I'm inclined to use your services - just need to make sure my neighbor next door will be able to help out on the delivery, because I won't be home when you arrive (I'm on the road myself, right now). He's a boater and has a truck he could use to pull the boat off your low boy. I'll get back to 'ya soon. Phil (7/15/2009)

Response: no problem...let me know when your're ready. (7/15/2009)

Question: Can this be picked up Saturday and delivered on Sunday? We would be towing the boat on its own trailer. Thank you (7/21/2009)

Response: Howdy - thanks for your interest. The current owner of the boat (the fellow I'm buying it from in Charlotte) prefers to have a pick up during the work week, if at all possible. I'd like to help him out with that. Phil (7/21/2009)

Response: Thank you for the response, I understand. We are delivering to NY Thurs evening or first thing Fri morning and will be on our way home to FL. We may be able to make it Fri evening, but a possibility it would be Saturday morning. If this would work for him, please let me know. Thank you, Amanda (7/21/2009)

Response: Hi, Amanda. I'd be grateful if you could go ahead and bid today and I'll try to work things out with the seller. Thanks, Phil (7/22/2009)

Response: Hi Phil, thank you. We would be happy to help. However, with the price of fuel I can't compete with your current low bids. Mine would be $500. If that will work for you, I will be happy to bid. Thanks, Amanda (7/22/2009)
