Questions for this shipment: Ask a Question

Question: shipper i seen you declined my bid due to insuficent feed back please explain so in the future I may avoid this you ask for refrences as well and what type of crew i supplied what I was able to under the uship rules if there was other info you needed please leet me know (9/29/2009)
Response: I was hoping that you would state that you had experience taking boats to the BVI and you didn't mention the Caribbean at all!! (9/29/2009)
Response: thank you for the information, I've never been to the bvi but have been to porta rico and the american virgin islands as well as the keys. most of the time down in those areas I was traveling and diving but have transported to several of the areas mentioned. agian thank you for the feed back (9/29/2009)
Question: good afternon, would you like me to rebid for the transport of your vessel to the British V.I. I belive youwill be satisfied with the service I do (10/1/2009)
Response: No thank you. We are really looking for a captain who has lots of experience taking boats to the BVI. (10/1/2009)
Question: Dear Shipper: Would you be interested in and in-water delivery? If so, I would need to know more about the boat, what type of engines you have? Fuel capacity, cruising speed and range and fuel use per hour. I will then submit a formal bid. A little about myself, I hold a USCG 100 Ton Near Coastal Masters License, Issue #7, Serial # 1110306 and a TWIC Card. I have been doing boat deliveries since 1977. I have thorough knowledge of the Atlantic ICW-Gulf ICW, inland and offshore waters and the Caribbean. My most recent delivery was a 110' Offshore Utility Boat from Patuxent River MD to Port Fourchon,LA via the Okeechobee Waterway. Prior to that I have made 5 trips , running and 85 foot excursion boat from MA to winter operations in St. Maarten. Thank you, Pete (10/2/2009)
Response: Yes, we would be interested in in-water delivery. The answer to your questions are as follows: Engines: twin Cummins 370 Fuel Capacity: 320 gallons Cruising Speed: 19 mph Range: Unknown (10/2/2009)
Question: Good Day Sir. I have been delivering from the East Coast and Florida to Tortola for the past 15 years. Have done the trip 50+ times on power and sailing vessels. I have two more back to back in October. I could deliver your vessel 15 November. If this time table suits your needs please peruse my profile. Thank You (YachtMasterOffshore) (10/2/2009)
Response: Do you mean actually deliver the boat on the 15th or set out on that date? If the former, that might be pushing it as we are currently having some work done i.e. water maker installed, etc. Anyhway, please submit a bid. Thanks (10/2/2009)
Response: Sir, Setting out on the 15th is my earliest availability, as of now later is OK. As for the cost, without the knowledge of the range of the vessel I can give an educated guess-timate. Offshore it not reasonable to be able to expect to travel above 12 knots into the prevailing easterly wind, waves, current. Should be 7 days underway, weather permitting. $4200 for the passage itself for crew. Flights to Florida are cheap. I can get there from my previous delivery for free. Out of the BVI, or ferry then out of the USVI, are unpredictable on short notice. Fuel, dockage and Customs are going rate. I understand you wish 'bottom line' price, but the only way to not overcharge you for a worst case scenarios is to pay as it happens. This is my livelyhood and I work as, and with, professonals. Thank You. (10/2/2009)
Response: Thanks for the input. Other than you, how many crew will be flying back from the BVI? (10/2/2009)
Response: Two others. Total of 3. (10/2/2009)
Question: do you still need this boat delivered to bvi? a boat this size is easily handle by me and one crew member,if so i can make a formal bid, just came off a 7 month western Caribbean trip i've made the trip to bvi many times, the only thing i see is the range may be close, thanks (10/20/2009)
Response: Thank you, but we have now made arrangements to have the boat sent down on a freighter. (10/21/2009)
