Questions for this shipment:

Question: Hello, can this vehicle be driven to it's destination? Check my feedback under HunterServices. Having it driven is actually faster and safer than having it put on a trailer to criss-cross the country! I am a former firefighter, paramedic, 911 dispatcher and military veteran. I have driven everything from ambulances to fire trucks to recreational vehicles. Would like to bid on your business. Thanks! Rod (4/29/2008)
Response: As far as I know, yes, the car is in sound mechanical shape. I was going to drive it back myself, however I do programming for a hospital and I'm on call - I also couldn't figure out how to get from the nearest airport to where the car is. Apparently the drivers side window has plastic on it because the 'points' (?) in the electric window need to be fixed and it won't roll up -- I didn't exactly understand what the lady who sold it to me meant by this, but she said it was a $25 fix at the Bakersfield Mercedes dealer (which, if you want to fix,I would defiantly pay if it's $25). Tires are supposed to be new, it was supposed to have just had a tune up, the transmission reworked, and the fuel lines replaced. I asked the lady if she'd be willing to drive the car to Las Vegas and she didn't hesitate about driving it through the desert or over the mountains, but later said logistically it wouldn't be possible for her. Let me know if that answers your question. (4/30/2008)
Response: Thanks for the quick response, sounds like it should make the trip fine. I would be willing to spend an extra day to see if the window can be repaired. Did you see any pics of that? Is the window stuck in the down position now? I am based out of Texas, so would have to possibly spend an extra night in hotel while trying to get it repaired, if you are willing to pay for that, I will work up a bid amount for you. What can you estimate the gas mileage to be? And is it gas or diesel? Thaks again, hope to gain your business. Rod (4/30/2008)
Response: Hunter -- the only pic I saw was the one on the ebay account (it should be included in my listing). The window is stuck down right now, but she said you could hot wire it to make it go up. It is a diesel. The lady couldn't give me an accurate mpg on the car - she said, however, that she would drive it around Delano to pick up groceries and do errands, etc. and she wouldn't fuel it for months at a time (Delano, however, only looks to be about 3 miles from one end of town to the other). Other info I've read on this car indicates that the diesel makes approximately 30 to 35 mpg. I would be willing to pay for the extra night hotel room - the lady indicated to me however that it seemed like replacing the rocker arm was about a 15 minute thing to do. Apparently the parts on this Mercedes is the same as parts to almost all Mercedes between about '78 and '84 so parts tend to be readily available (again, according to the lady who sold it to me). (4/30/2008)
Response: Thanks again, I have placed a bid under HunterServices, if the appointment can be made and perhaps the vehicle taken to dealership for repairs before I get there, that would avoid an extra night stay. I see also see that you have a lower bid, please be aware that I am not a broker, I provide personal door to door service and treat my customer's vehilces as they were my own, please check feedbacks. My bid is all-inclusive. Greyhound does run into Delano, so I would also request a ride from the bus station, or if the distance is not too far, then I can use a taxi service. I hope to gain your business, I only ask for a 7-8 day advance notice so that I can get the best airfare to CA (probably into LAX). Thanks again, Rod (4/30/2008)
Question: HI THERE I LIVE HERE IN THE "BIG CITY" OF DELANO LOL. I WOULD LIKE TO HELP YOU ACCOMDATE THIS SHIPMENT. I WILL PLACE A BID UNDER USER NAME "JIMJIM" FULL VALUE INSURANCE INCLUDED. WHEN DOES THE AUCTION END? (5/2/2008)
Response: Hey JimJim...the auction ends as soon as someone is able to offer to ship the thing for less than what I paid for it! Heh...I hope...anyway. Hey, since you live in Delano...would you be willing to possibly negotiate with me about getting the car to LA or Las Vegas or somewhere else that I can fly into?? (5/2/2008)
Response: LOS ANGELES $200.00 (5/2/2008)
Question: ALSO I HAVE A YARD IN LOS ANGELES THIS CAN BE LEFT IN. SERCURE AND ALL. I REBID TO LOS ANGELES JUST LET ME KNOW LISA (5/2/2008)
Response: How far is the yard in LA from LAX? Could you get it there by the 16th of May? (5/2/2008)
Response: YES IT CAN BE THERE BY THE 16TH OF MAY. LET ME CALL THE YARD IN LOS ANGELES MAYBE A DRIVER CAN MEET YOU WITH THE CAR. GIVE ME A LITTLE WHILE TO GET BACK WITH YOU LISA@REDLINE (5/2/2008)
Response: I calculated my costs to drive the car from LA -- without even adding in my plane ticket, I'd only save $300 from having you haul the car -- so the LA option really isn't worth it and I might as well have you haul it all the way to Houston. (5/5/2008)
Response: NO PROBLEM JUST LET ME KNOW.LISA@REDLINE (5/5/2008)
Question: Hi, have you found a shipper for this car yet? Thanks Clay (6/7/2008)
Response: no - not yet - by all means, please put a bid in! (6/7/2008)
Question: Are you still in need os shipping this car? I am in cental Ca and will be leaving for Tx Jul 15. I would be shipping it on a trailer. (6/25/2008)
