Questions for this shipment:

Question: Hi, What is your time frame for this trip? Thank you, Candace/Rose Creek Farm (9/26/2009)
Response: Hi, The current owner is schedulng a pre-purchase vet check this week, so assuming the vet gives an OK, I will proceed with the purchase of the horse. My timeframe is somewhat flexible, especially if the price is right :) What did you have in mind? Regards, Jan Wensel (9/26/2009)
Question: hi, i have a load within the week going that way. i will lve a bid for you. thnx (9/26/2009)
Response: Hi, The current owner is arranging a pre-purchase vet check on the horse this week, so the timing might not work out UNLESS the vet gives the OK early in the week and your pickup is at the end of the week. What pickup date would you require? Let me know and I will see if both schedules can be coordinated. Thank you, Jan Wensel (9/26/2009)
Response: hi, right now the load is still open because it hasnt filled. im trying to get it on the road by next sat. but pickup date is still flexible. i can work with the date. thnx (9/26/2009)
Response: Great. I will be in touch as soon as I have more info and if you still have availability on that load we can work out the details. Thanks, Jan Wensel (9/26/2009)
Response: hi, looking forward to it. thnx (9/26/2009)
Question: hi, i may have to lve earlier in the wk now. is it possible to find out when vetting will be done? just trying to arrainge everybody. thnx (9/28/2009)
Response: Hi, The vetting is set up for 1:30 on Friday, so I will not know until Friday afternoon if I will go through with the purchase. If you must leave sooner than Saturday, or if you need a firm commitment before Friday afternoon, I will not be able to make it on this load. Do you have any loads going this way in the next few weeks? Regards, Jan Wensel (9/28/2009)
Response: hi, thats fine. i should have enough to go next wk if you get the horse. there was someone in pa really needing to get a horse to tx by this wknd. i found someone to take up there. its a lean ld but it will work. when you know something just ask for a bid. thnx and gd luck! (9/28/2009)
Question: Hi, Our route has changed and we will be going through your area in about 2 weeks. If this will work for you I will place a bid. Please let me know as soon as you can as the transport is filling. Thx (9/30/2009)
Response: Hi, Two weeks would be fine. I have a pre-purchase vetting scheduled for Friday afternoon Sept 2, so the purchase decision depends on the results. If I buy him, I will need to ship him. I can let you know Friday. If you place a bid, don't let it expire before Saturday because I cannot commit until after the vetting. Regards, Jan Wensel (9/30/2009)
Question: hi jan, just letting you know that i will have another load going up north. it will be mid-mon. hope everything goes good tomorrow. thnx (10/1/2009)
Question: jan, how did vet chk go? thnx (10/3/2009)
Response: Hi, Unfortunately, wet weather on Friday prevented the vet check, so they rescheduled it for tomorrow morning. I should have the results by tomorrow afternoon. Since this is my first time using Uship, I'm unclear on how bids work, can you tell me if your bid is good until midnight on 10/6 or does it expire at midnight on 10/5? Either way, I should be able to give you an answer before expiration since I should know the results of the vet check by Monday afternoon. Regards, Jan Wensel (10/4/2009)
Response: hi jan, the bid is good until 10/12. i also may be avl to pick up within a week in addition to the dates i have listed in the bid. i have to pickup a special passenger who is waiting on his fertility test and bring him to folsom. i can take you up there when he is ready to come down or when i go up for my west coast run. im definatly going that way. good luck again on the physical. thnx (10/4/2009)
Response: Hi, Can you believe it - weather prevented the vet check again!! It was pouring rain this morning. This is getting frustrating. I don't know yet when they rescheduled, but I will keep you updated. Thanks for being so patient. Regards, Jan Wensel (10/5/2009)
Response: hi, i know, i was in folsom saturday and it was very cloudy. it has been raining in lafayette, la for almost 3 wks. i cant get anything done, its all mud. thnx for update. (10/5/2009)
Response: Hi, The horse vetted today and was OK! I have to get in touch with the owner to finalize the purchase and make sure they have coggins and health certificate. Can you tell me what dates you have open for pickup so I can coordinate that with them as well? Thanks, Jan Wensel (10/7/2009)
Response: hi, as soon as possible. im hoping to be in the NE on the 13th or 14th to start picking up for that load. can pick you up as soon as the 12th. now it all hinges on when you get the health papers. let me know. thnx (10/8/2009)
Response: Hi, My horse is 17H and usually easy going. What are the dimensions of the stall he would occupy in the trailer? Do you make sure leg wraps are adjusted properly along the way? How many other horses would be on the trailer? Regards, Jan Wensel (10/8/2009)
Response: hi jan, my trl is 8 ft high and wide. ive had many 17 and 18 hd horses on here. the stall is 8x8. its already bedded because i just hauled a 17 hd race horse in it. when i do my coast to coast i usually just get 1 or 2 horses to get me to my take off point. ive been counting on you to get me to the NE area. i have bids in for 2 others going up but havnt heard from them. he will be just fine. im in there alot to give them attention. plus he'll have a huge hay rack to keep busy with. i do not recommend leg wraps. they will absolutely slip down with the back and forth movement from the road. the dates arnt set in stone yet. ive had 1 defection and still am trying to get others to commit and accept bids. thnx (10/8/2009)
Response: Hi, I just negotiated the sale and the deal is done. After I send the payment tomorrow I can commit to shipping. We just need to coordinate the pickup date. Oct 12 is okay but Oct 13-15 would be better. The 8X8 box stall will be great. Both his current trainer and my trainer recommended pillow wraps with polo bandages as well as a pair of bell boots since he is shod to minimize injuries along the way. I was yielding to their higher knowledge of it all, but you likely have far more experience than they do with leg wraps shifting during transporting. Still, I have to question if going without any wraps is advisable. Do you really recommend he go without any? Regards, Jan Wensel (10/8/2009)
Response: jan, yes i recommend you leave them off. i have a trainers lisc and have wrapped legs for 31 years. the boots would be fine. the thing with leg wraps are that they are usually meant to be used in a barn stall, not a moving trl stall. no other horse will be near his legs the box divider goes to the floor. you can bandage bow a horses tendon if the bandage slips and the horse starts pulling on it. only someone who is experienced at bandaging should do this because a certain tension is needed to get the wrap to stay in place during transport. if the trainer decides to put them on then i will make sure they stay in place. if they dont i will remove them. i am in the trl often during a trip, so i will keep a watch on it. i will work with your dates. i may need an extra day or 2 to find another horse going west. congrats on your new horse! denise (10/8/2009)
Response: Hi Denise, Okay, we will skip the wraps. Please keep me informed as the schedule develops so I can coordinate with the owner. Do I need to provide a halter and lead rope or anything else? Can you take 3 bales of his hay with you and put Gatorade in his water bucket during the ride? Regards, Jan Wensel (10/9/2009)
Response: JAN HI, everything sounds good and i can do those things for you. i have 1 request though, i had plans to leave out on the 15th and now someone wants me to be a bloodstock consultant at the sale in folsom on the 17th. after a good nites sleep i can leave out on the morning of the 18th and i'll already be in town. i dont see anything else coming up and i really want to get this load on the road. so if this is okay let me know, or we can go ahead and finalize this which is what i'll be trying to do with the other shippers this weekend. thnx (10/9/2009)
Response: Hi Denise, Sorry it took me so long to reply, I was away. You have been so patient with my jello plans that I feel I should recipricate with what works best for you, so I will ask the current owners if it is okay for the horse to remain at their stable for a few extra days. Just so I can clearly relay the plan, do I understand that you want to pick him up on Oct 18? Regards, Jan Wensel (10/11/2009)
Response: yes, i appreciate it. thnx (10/11/2009)
Response: Hi Denise, Oh no! Sunday Oct 18 is not a good day. No one will be at the barn because they will be at a horse show. I need to get him out of there soon because they have another horse coming in. What are our options? It may be easier to coordinate this via phone, so you can call me at [phone number removed] if you like. Regards, Jan Wensel (10/12/2009)
Response: hi jan, i didnt see your no. and thats a no no per this site. can they wait till monday. i am out of town from wed until fri afternoon. if they can wait i will be there for sure on monday and you can accept the bid in order for us to get contact info. im really counting on transporting your guy. the only way to get him out of there sooner is for me to bring him to my friends place until monday. if he had to leave they're place before then. i will knock some off the bid price too. let me know. thnx (10/12/2009)
Response: Hi Denise, I'm paying to board him in Folsom and paying to hold a stall here, so every day we delay costs me more. Another hauler can pick him up by Saturday for $600, but if you can meet that price, resubmit your bid with a Monday pickup (the bid expired). Regards, Jan Wensel (10/12/2009)
Response: okay, i will rebid for monday. thnx (10/13/2009)
Question: Bauer Services - I am hading back to Leonardtown MD today. If I only had a horse trailer I would handle this for you. I am not pulling anything back. If you have a line on a small trailer I can buy I will and use it. Jesse (10/4/2009)
Response: Hi, I do not have a line on a trailer and the horse will not be ready for shipping for several days yet. Thanks anyway. Regards, Jan (10/4/2009)
Response: Ok will let you know when I get back to Leonardtown. Jesse (10/8/2009)
Question: Bauer Services - I am back home in Leonardtown MD now, What is your price range as I have a trailer I can use. Its one I have used before and in great shape. I will only move one horse at a time, it hold 4. Jesse (10/8/2009)
Question: hi jan, is it possible to pick him up early sat. eveng. im running into problems with the northern pickups all going to horse shows also and the dates arnt lining up. if there gone sun they should be there sat evng. could you pls check and let me know. thnx (10/13/2009)
Response: Hi Denise, I can check, but I need to know what time you would pick him up Sat evening and when would you deliver him? Regards, Jan Wensel (10/13/2009)
Question: Jan are you in LA or MD? Jesse (10/13/2009)
