Question: I am sorry that nobody takes the time to explain the Motor Carriers Rules & Regulations to the Shipper about long distance estimates. No carrier may bill a client/shipper an hourly rate for a delivery over 100 miles. Long Distance deliveries are estimated and billed by weight/cubic feet and/or an estimated flat rate. Question: Oakland to Berkeley is approx. 10 miles. Any shipper should only use a Calif. PUC Licensed Mover. All moving done in Calif. that originates in Calif. must only be done by a Licensed carrier. They must display their PUC calt # in all Advertising and communications. (5/19/2009)
