Question: Hi & Congrats on your completed kayak project. I'm new to USHIP but i've build wooden kayaks & sailboats - real passion. If your boat is going to be a Christmas present i can't bid. But if you don't have a problem with getting it there before 1/1 i can be of service. I'm driving down to the New Orleans area after Christmas, i would wrap the boat in plastic with foam padding for support & carry it on the roof of my Suburban 2500 - it'll be for more protected going ontop rather than in a moving van with possible damage by what ever could happen in an enclosed box to a somewhat fragile unique piece of art. If this would be satisfactory to you i'll place a bid which will represent direct service. (12/6/2006)

Question: my posted concern to the shipper is not to cause fear but to suggest that his shipment should if at all possible go direct & be seperate from any other cargo. For the fella who suggested that this was a scare tactic - you are probably a very professional carrier but you may agree that most claims to damaged freight occures when something inside a trailer unavoidably gives way. Other than that this craft deserves direct handling & just like most kayaks,canoes, team skulling boats the best place is on a roof or on a trailer going to the river, ocean or meet w/o stops along the way. So shipper, let me know if before 1/1 will work for you. (12/7/2006)
