Response: yes the hitch can be taken off. unit size with hitch off is 12 foot 10 inches wide, 6 foot 9 inches long and 36 inches tall.the john deere dealer will take the hitch off and load the hitch and chisel unit. thank you for your time (1/28/2009)

Response: unit measures;12feet 10 inches wide 6 feet 9 inches length 36 inches tall this is the size with the hitch off.the john deere dealer will take the hitch off and load. both the hitch and chisel unit will easly fit on a truck. thank you for your time. (1/28/2009)
