Question:

Hi Denise! This is Michelle, with U.S. Horse Transport. Hope you are having a great day! We have placed a bid below, but wanted to touch base with you and go over any questions/concerns you may have as we know how arranging transport for animals can be very stressful, especially over the internet! While it is common sense to choose only legal and commercially insured transporters while you are considering bids, it is more difficult to determine which transporters will best meet the needs of your horse! As professional horse transporters, it is not only our responsibility to understand the general nature of horses during transport, but to also understand the unique, individual needs of each horse in our care. So if you have any special concerns about your horse, or if you have any questions about transporting in general, please let us know. Thank you for your time and we look forward to speaking with you ~Michelle/U.S. Horse Transport Report a Violation
Response: Hi Michelle, Thanks for your note. I do have a couple of questions. 1) What day would you pick my horse up? 2) What day would he be dropped off? 3) What size is the trailer? 4) Will he be with other horses? 5) Would you be willing to add a little apple cider vinegar to his water, if I provided it to you? Thanks so much for your time! Denise5/25/2012Report a Violation
Response: : Hi Denise. We will be in Reno the 15-16th. We are based out of Colorado, so we have the benefit of allowing horses traveling coast to coast to get an extended layover (24-48) at our place half way through the trip. This also allows us to be compliant on our log hours and check equipment. We will leave Colorado the 19-20th, and get to NC between the 21-22nd. There will be others on the trailer so your horse won't be lonely :) We have a 7 horse reverse with extra tall and wide stalls. I don't think the apple vinegar will be a problem. Is it part of his normal diet?5/25/2012Report a Violation
Response: I heard apple cider vinegar was good for them, so he has been drinking it in his water for the last 4 years. My biggest fear is that he won't drink without his water tasting like that. Once Jafar gets picked up, does he get driven straight to CO, then rest for a day or two, and then continue straight on to NC? Or does he make other stops along the way?(not including gas stops.)5/25/2012Report a Violation
Response: : Hi Denise. Yes, we unload every 24-26 hours as per DOT legal requirements. Layovers can be anywhere from 4 to 10 hours depending on where we are, as well at the safety and security of the place. Thx, Michelle5/25/2012Report a Violation
