Plant & Aggriculture Listing Information
  • Houseplants Seattle to LA - please help!
  • Item Description: Approx. 25 small to medium houseplants. Most are <12" tall and weigh 1-10 pounds each. The largest three weigh 24-28 pounds each. Total weight is approximately 240 pounds. None of the plants are very bushy, so they can be packed tightly next to each other. All are in ceramic pots (where most of the weight comes from). All plants to be moved are shown in the two photos provided.
  • Special Handling: Minimum time in transit is ideal. No open-topped trucks, as the plants would then arrive with no leaves!
  • Packaging:I plan to wrap all pots in newspaper and pack the smaller ones in a few open-topped boxes. If the mover has boxes and packing material and would like to pack them his/her self, that is fine with me too.
  • Weight:240 lbs

Response: Hi Jerry, I would like to pay about $250. Does that sound reasonable? The plants can be delivered directly to my sister-in-law in LA. She can take care of them if they arrive before I do on Aug 26th. What kind of truck do you have? (7/28/2008)
Response: You can see my rig if you bring up my profile on uship. I was thinking 350 because of the area and care it will take to get them there safe and sound. Jerry (7/28/2008)
Response: I see that you have a truck and a trailer. I would be okay with an open-topped truck if the plants could be covered to protect them from the wind. Do you have a date of pick up in mind? How long will you be in transit? I would be willing to go up to $300. If that sounds okay to you, please place an official bid so I can accept it and we can work out the details. Thank you! Response: Thanks so much but the best I can do is $325, They would either travel in the front of my horse trailer on a foam mattress or in the back of my truck under a canopy. Travel time should be three days to deliver. Thanks very much for your time. Jerry @ WEDIG4U (7/28/2008)
