Questions for this shipment:

Question: Gee… I actually went to school for this too, (((LOL))) and it only took 40-yrs. to pay off as well. I took 2-yrs. of horticulture classes while living in Hawaii for 11-yrs. when I was 18-yrs. old and haven’t lost a plant yet too. Now you might not believe this, but I am currently on a run between LA and Phoenix with just two 5’ plants that is paying $400. Last month I hauled just one plant from Tucson to SFO for $500 too; but it was tall, so when I tell you that I would charge you $500 to transport your load of plants up north in only 24 to 36-hrs., please don’t scream at me, because that is truly my current rate. I believe that I can pick up your babes on Friday/Saturday, for a forsure weekend delivery. David (10/12/2005)
Response: This sounds wonderful! We would like to accept your offer of $500 to deliver our plants. We thought it would be better to try to ship these plants (especially the Japanese Maples) in the winter time, since they will be pretty much dormant. Thanks so much! Pam (10/12/2005)
Question: Hi Pam, I am out in the middle of nowhere on I-10 in AZ and have really spotty IP connectivity. I'll post a bid later tomorrow to finalize and then we can talk directly about the how and when of the trip... David (10/12/2005)
Question: Hi Pam, I am sorry about the delay, however unfortunately someone was thoughtful enough to share their computer virus this morning with me so for the last couple of hours I have been rebuilding my laptop. I have two different loads going north in the next 6 or 7-days, which one would be most comfortable for you at this time? I have a Tucson, AZ load coming up in a day or two and I can stop by your home and pick up your plants then, or I have a loop back down to LA and back north right after that giving you about 6 more days to prepare them to ship north in. The easiest one for me is this next one that is coming in a few days… David BTW – It is best to not water them for a couple of days before transporting them and then when you get them up north, start with a light food/water cycle. (10/13/2005)
Response: Hi David, no problem I totally understand. I think the next shippment sounds good for us. The plants are actually located at our friend Mike's house in Campbell. I will call him and let him know that you will be picking up the plants. Should I have him leave them in front of his house, or just have him leave the gate open? Is there anything else I need to do to prepare the plants for shippment, besides not water them? Approximately when do you think you might be arriving at Mike's house so I can give him a tentitive date? Thanks and let me know if you have any more questions. Pam (10/13/2005)
Question: If they are marked well, leaving them behind a gate is fine (out of the sun) and when I have another combination load confirmed, I'll let you know. About the Bid Process, I could offer a bid with a wide pick up date on it and than once you accept it, we could chat on the telephone "as" needed too. Should I place a bid today? (10/14/2005)
Response: OK sounds good. I guess you can do the bid now? Which ever is best for you. I will just let Mike know that the plants will be picked up soon, and I will give him a more confimred date soon. Thanks David! Pam (10/14/2005)
