Response: Thx much for the reply...but it is 65 miles and 1+ hours there and back and that 50 in Diesel fuel for a semi and then 2 guys for labor hours. Good luck with your shipment as it takes up the floor space of a motorcycle which would pay 350-400 for that distance. We were just there 3 weeks ago...could have been done for 150 then. as we were right on top of it. Thx again for the reply, and please add us a favorite for other shipments you have in the future. Response: Hi, I read the above about getting it yourself about the 350 amount and I want to thank you for making me laugh this morning. It fills up a pickup truck and round trip is 1920 miles and even at 17mpg that is 293 dollars in gas alone let alone 30.5 hours of time. So this tells me your time is worth nothing to you...as 50 dollar divided by 30 is less than 2 dollars an hour. You still have to eat and sleep on this trip also. Will do for 250 if someone brings to our truck in Florence in about 2 hours when he comes down from Raleigh. Thank you for your time. (9/3/2009)

Response: Good luck with it, a 100 bid on this site will give the transporter only 72.01 and as mentioned takes up the size of a motorcycle that easily pays 300+ that distance. And you're right things are tight...so tight, providers here are very selective to make a profit. 72.00 for us is 27.6 gallons of diesel which gets the truck 207 miles at 7.5mpg. That far out...the coast...It's 89 miles off a major interstate so even a pickup truck getting 15 would burn that much gas getting to it and back on the interstate and 3 hours of driving. Response: That puts it at 4'6" then... Plenty of room for a small dirtbike, so do we now switch to someone with an antique dresser? Again, I stress the time off the beaten path. I only popped in, as we have a corporate account we are at 1-2 times per week and 4.55 miles and 13 minutes away from Cary on Rte176 and Valley View Road. And I know you know how long it takes to get to I90 from there. Double that is an hour. I guess you are not thinking like a business man? That is also 2 gallons of gasoline for another 5.00 and just that -leg-of-the-journey- is 15.00 worth if a person pays themselves 10.00 an hour pre-tax. Toss me a note please should you decide to get into the transportation business please, as I'll accept your rates you're offering to others, immediately and keep you so booked making no money, you'd last 1 week. On another note? Should our client next door to you in Crystal Lake happen to have a shipment right to there, I would consider the 72.00 that is why keeping on list. (9/9/2009)

Response: Understood and truthfully I would ask them if they know anyone that lives closer to I-95 down there where they could get that to. As your odds of getting it back up this way would increase, for a number closer to what you think it is worth would be in your favor. Airline tickets are 100, but the plane won't land in your driveway :-) All this comes from being in the moving business 103 years, 4th generation still family owned. And I still like the -I'll get it myself- line. So, should we end up in Charleston area in the future, and it is still listed...we will place the bid. Again, thank's for the communication.
