Pet Information
  • Heidi
  • Breed:
  • Weight: lbs
  • Special Needs: No
  • Current on All Tags: No
Additional Information: One long-haired chihuahua, and a folding carrier. Heidi travels extremely well. I have taken her cross country once, and on several long distance drives without any car sickness or worry. She likes to ride in the seat, but will gladly lay on a blanket on the floor, too.
I will provide everything needed to care for her on her trip (leash, food, blanket, poop bags). I have yet to meet a dog Heidi doesn't get along with, and tolerates children well as long as they don't get grabby. If they do, she simply hides. Hence, the name!
Unfortunately, I cannot afford to pay a lot of money for this service, and I can only hope some kind person will help us out.

Questions for this shipment:

Question: Do you still need Heidi moved? We will be three Mid next Week. And retunig by the end of the week. Ronnie. (5/7/2005)
Response: Yes, I still need Heidi moved to TX! She is a very small dog that travels well. I am eager to get her to TX, but delivery time is extremely flexible. Our pick-up address can be out of the way for some people, but I am willing to drive her up to the main freeway if needed. The delivery address is about 5 miles off of I-20, and very easy to find. (5/7/2005)
Question: I too am going south this next week. My destination is Shreveport,La which is 250 miles east of Dallas,Texas. I will be driving a full size Chev van to deliver a motorcycle. I leave Tuesday morning to arrive approx end of next week. Let me know if you are interested in having me help you so that the proper info can be entered onto this website for proper payment.... (5/7/2005)
Response: I am very than interested in having you help me out. If you are taking the most direct route to Shreveport (via I-20) you will be passing the exit to her destination, and it would(hopefully) be very little inconvenience for you! If it helps you make your decision, Heidi is almost 3 years old, and requires very little care where dogs are concerned. (5/7/2005)
Question: I originally stumbled across this web site because i nnded to find a shipper for the motorcycle. However after analyzing the cost of shippers plus the extra advantage of being able to visit family I decided to try and offset the expenses of doing my own shipment....Thus I am not a licensed carrier however I am a Faithful latter Day Saint church member in good standing. I was raised on a farm and love animals. I currently have a dog and cat that are best friends (live inside the same house).I live in North Bend,Wa. and would need to have the pet here at my home by 9;00 tues morn. If that sounds agreeable to you then the only other concerns i have is The distance from my travel route (please clarify) and your complete understanding that although I am going to do everything I can to ensure a safe and comfortable trip for the pet. There are no guarantees expressed or implied...so e-mail back and we will take it from there.... (5/7/2005)
Response: I consulted a map, and you are approximately two hours south of me. I am willing to make the drive if you are willing to make a lower bid than my target price. Please understand that I am not trying to be cheap! I am not worried about your status as a commercially licensed driver. I understand that there is a certain amount of trust involved in this transaction. My mother is a LDS, and is very much looking forward to having Heidi as a companion. I include this tidbit of information because I have great faith in your word. I also understand that there are many things that could happen during this trip that could put Heidi in danger, and I would not hold you resposible. The destination point is directly off of I-20, and should not take you any more than a few minutes to complete the transfer. I don't know how to be more specific than to give you the actual address. Willow Park is near weatherford and right next to Aledo. In all actuality, you will be at in wonderful area to (5/7/2005)
Question: (5/7/2005)
Response: your response did not go through, Sir. (5/7/2005)
Question: I don`t really want to discount the price because I don`t know what the motels will charge for a pet. and one of us is going to have to pay this website fee. I was hoping to net $175 but if there are pet fees....anyway you tell me what you think would be a reasonable compromise (5/7/2005)
Response: depending on what hotels you stay in there might not be a fee. I have a wonderful book that lists hotels that allow pets. Unfortunately, it does require calling ahead to make sure that their rates and/or pet status have not changed any. Truthfully, I had forgotten about that little detail! =) I was thinking 100-150. (5/7/2005)
Question: Thanks anyway but my instincts tell me that I would put much more care into this than a cold unfeeling commercial shipper would. (5/7/2005)
Response: There is no doubt in my mind that you would. I am simply going off of what I know I would ask if I was in your place. I am sorry if this did not work out for you. I was under the impression that the target price was a starting off point. that drivers could bid higher...or lower. I apologize if I misunderstood. I have changed the target price to reflect more accordingly. (5/7/2005)
Question: Some things are more trouble than they are worth. if it was a heavy box that just sat in the corner then yes i would be more than willing to drop the price (5/7/2005)
Response: Thank you for your honesty, and I hopeyou find the box you need to make up your cost. Happy traveling! =) (5/7/2005)
Question: I will be leaving WAshington for Tx.At the end of this week , And would be happy to trasport Heidi for you, I have alot of dogs at home , Heidi will be very comfortable. Our original Target price was $200 It is a little out of my way , so I need to stay close to that price. If you are still interested I will be happy to move Heidi. (5/8/2005)
Response: Something has come up that will not allow me to spend $200 to transport Heidi. If I can get it closer to my new target price then I will accept, but I understand that it is you who would be doing me the favor. The way it is looking now we are going to have to take our chances with the flight. I understand the cargo hold is temperature controlled, and they won't fly the animals if the ambient temperature is too extreme. I can go as high as 150 since that is what it would cost me to buy a FAA carrier, but the decision is yours. I would also need to know where you would be picking up the dog. How far out of the way are we talking? (5/8/2005)
Question: I am in Washington and can haul your Heidi back to Texas but can't do it for less than $250 drop off destination is 120 miles out of my way and for the extra care and breaks to take Heidi I think this is well worth it (5/10/2005)
Response: I am sorry, but I can't afford to pay $250 to have you drive Heidi down. I will have to wait for someone who is willing to accept what I can pay or take my chances with the plane. Thank you for your offer, though. (5/10/2005)
Question: I might be able to reduce price if I can pick up another dog would that bother you (5/10/2005)
Response: It would not bother me if you picked up another dog. Heidi would simply move to another portion of the vehicle. I am a little curious as to why everyone seems to think it is so much harder to travel with an animal. What are your particular concerns? (5/10/2005)
Question: My concerns are only of the 2 dogs getting along. I think traveling with animals are quite different for the reason of needing to be taken for bathroom breaks on a leash and I would think they would need larger water consumption then us. Tell me if I have worried for nothing (5/10/2005)
Response: As I said, Heidi would merely hide away, and if your vehicle is big enough I would suggest simply placing her in her wire kennel. I have already mentioned that I would provide everything she needs for travel. That includes water, as well. I have personally never found traveling with dogs taxing. I have not found myself stopping for them any more than I would stop for myself, and have often found the need to walk them on a leash to be beneficial to me, too. It is as good as excuse as any to stretch your legs. If you are worried about hotels there are a number of resources on fees and what hotels to stay in. Myself and my family have never paid a fee. (5/10/2005)
Question: let me see what i can arrange and i'll get back with you. Any way possible that someone can pick her up in dallas or ft worth (5/10/2005)
Question: sorry didn't read that your mother is a LDS. I can deliver directly if I can get it all arranged. (5/10/2005)
Response: I am sure that someone in my family could pick her up in Fort Worth if you need them to. They are not that far from there. (5/10/2005)
Question: I will be leaving Sedro Woolley at the later part of the week my departure is not yet confirmed but will gladly take Heidi to texas as you stated to your other inquirer will you pay the 150. The other dog is a larger dog and will be in a carrier for your dogs safety (5/10/2005)
Response: Sounds good. The departure is timely, and if you let me know when you are departing I should be able to bring her to I-5 for you. Oak Harbor is another 45-50 from you. (5/10/2005)
