Question: I am leaving St. Paul on Wednesday at 4pm to drive to South Carolina to pick up a 21' Mastercraft - I can tow this boat with me on the way down if you're willing to meet me at Lexington, KY on Thursday at 8am. It is along the way for me and I would be willing to tow for $500... or we can work some other details out? Response: I bought the boat on ebay. Haven't seen it but the gentlemen I bought it from said the trailer has very good tires, tamdom axle trailer. 23' deck boat. According to manufacture it's weight is 3700#. Just to make sure were in the same page cause I still have paper work to complete before he'll let it go. When would you pick it up in St.Paul and when would you deliver to Greenup Ky. Also just to verify, the cost is $500 dollars. Correct? (10/1/2007)

Response: I actually live in St. Paul... I work for Medtronic here, and am leaving at 2pm from here, putting me in Indianapolis around Midnight - honestly I'm new to this site and think driving that direction without anything else is a dumb idea. $500 correct, I'm going past that area... St. Paul to Pawleys Island to pick up a 21' Mastercraft that weights 3500#'s - - I'm driving a chevy avalanche and your future boat isn't a problem for it. Response: I haven't selected a hauler as of yet. Most I feel have been too high on transport cost. I know what I can do it for myself and understand not to expect that from a man or women making their living hauling. Response: I do understand the cost of trucks and equipment. Actually have a lower bidder at this time. I've rented limo's before also, and I guess you'd just have to say that's a luxury sometimes one might be willing to pay for. My daughters wedding for 1. (10/5/2007)

Response: Maybe you understand the cost of the equipment but do you place any value on integrity and experience. There will always be a lower price but not always a better deal. If you hire the limo for your daughters wedding do you get the lowest priced company or the one that will be on time and have air conditioning? I understand you want to spend as little as possibe but look closely at your bids....do you notice the range of prices from established proven haulers verses the lower bids? I thought our price was fair and competative based on the miles and expenses involved and only $28.00 higher than your lowest active bid. I also would not retract or cancel on you once accepted like some people do when a better offer comes in. I really urge you to read some of the community forums before you decide. (10/6/2007)

Response: I'll do that. And if you would like to re-submit you’ve given a very convincing argument. Questions I've asked others is: Do you have insurance that would cover any damage to the boat and cost of repairs, or even if you stop to eat and someone stole it. Thanks for the replys. Response: It would be my hope that no matter who you choose for the work at hand that you, as the customer, thoroughly understand the risks and consequences of using this type of venue. With regard to insurance; Yes we carry 1 Million in liability coverage as well as an additional 4 million company umbrella I always recommend customers consider their own insurance (an existing policy or single trip) as most cargo coverage only pays by the pound value. As far as theft or damage goes I never consider that an issue since we never leave the vehicles in route unattended. Once that trailer is coupler locked to our truck it does not come off till delivery. We don't stop to eat (I prefer healthy food so my food travels with me). In instances where there is a need to overnight at a hotel we always choose direct entrance rooms that allow for visible secure parking where we can position the vehicle so that the trailer can not be accessed without activating our truck's paging security system. Upon review admin can red flag or green flag accordingly meaning bad or good. Users can be suspended for too many red flags. Your Q&A has some red flags where someone posted contact info which nows shows as removed. Question: I will be in MN on the 16 and could pick up and I will be in KY on the 19 when I could deliver would have 17th at my location indoor locked storage 16th and 18th would be travel days and deliver first thing 19th am, If that would work out for you.
